Experimental Study of Remote Handling Performance for Pyroprocessing Facilities (파이로 공정장치의 원격 취급성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • In this study, it is performed that the assessment of feasibility of developed material processing facilities using tele-operation manipulator system for the pyroprocessing. To evaluate the performance of developed facilities using tele-operation system, several performance indices are considered as remote visibility, remote reachability and remote manipulability. These are applied to RHEM (Remote Handling Evaluation Mock-up) and digital mock-up system respectively. Through this approaches, several requirements for the system improvement are deduced and preliminary inspection for real system application is fully performed. Additionally, assembly and disassembly tasks for the repair of remote handling system are also examined remotely in RHEM and evaluated those performances.

Introduction Pose estimation of a three dimensional object has been studied in robot vision area, and it is needed in a number of industrial applications such as process monitoring and control, assembly and PCB inspection. In this research, we propose a new pose estimation method based on principal axes analysis. Here, it is assumed that the locations of x-ray source and the image plane are predetermined and the object geometry is known.   • SAMSUNG Electronics has developed a SCAR.A robot system, SM3, which is applicable to several assembly, inspection, and adjustment tasks. This robot system drives by AC servo motors has attained a .theta.1 and .theta.2 axis maximum composite speed of 5.4 m/sec, a repeatability of .+-.05 mm, and a cycle time of 1.2 sea. The robot controller based on three 8086 and one 8087 processors consists of the main controller, the joint position controller, and the motor controller. The robot controller has plentiful self-diagnosis and control capabilities, and can be interfaced to other external device. The robot language FARAL Is designed such that every task is easily programmed. In this paper, the main features of the body, controller, and FARAL of SM3 will be described. In particular, the control method designed for a stable and fast robot motion will be explained. Finally, the future development will be addressed.

Statistical Analysis for NDI Results of Aircraft Engine Component for Determining Crack Initiation Period (균열발생시기 결정을 위한 항공기 엔진 구성품의 비파괴검사 결과에 대한 통계적 분석)

  • In this study statistical analysis was performed for NDI(Non-Destructive Inspection) results of F100 engine front seal support assembly. NDI results can be statistically considered as Quantal Response Data. It is found that the suitable probability distribution to the failure data is normal distribution through MLE(Maximum Likelihood Estimation) of the Quantal Response Data. Moreover, Cumulative Distribution Function, failure rate function and B-Life are calculated on the supposed distribution.

  • The automation system oriented as one of the second year automation projects for the small and medium sized enterprises(SME) was developed for the improvement of the production rate and cut the required manpower in the field of the relay which is one of the small electric components used in various industrial fields. The objectives of this study are not only improving the international competition of the relay itself but also partially solving the technical and financial problems featured by common bottlenecks of the SME for efficient assembly automation. For the purpose of these objectives, several topics are studied as followings. - Analyzing the adjustment process and determining the specification of the automation system. - Determining the layout for the automation system to meet the determined specification. - Detail design of the automation system for relay adjustment and inspection. - Control system design - Automation system development and performance test.

  • The basic technology for a production system represented by design, machining, assembly, and inspection, is machining technology such as CNC machine tools. etc. Direct Numerical Control, that effeciently manages NC programs is developing into Distributed Numerical Control that increases the utilization of the machining cell. It has the ability of monitoring and control, in real time, for CNC and periperial equipment. In this study, we develop a Distributed Numerical Control system that has real time and multitasking operation capability for the machining cell with various CNC's. With the consideration of economy, generalization and extension, the system is interfaced with CNC machine tools and periperial device using RS-485 network and RS-232C communication methods.

Failure analysis on the phenomenon of water condensing of automotive head lamp assembly (자동차용 head lamp의 수밀원인 분석)

  • In this study, we try to find the root cause of water condensing failures in a headlamp using chemical and mechanical analysis. Through the surface inspection by OM, SEM and CT, it was found that water infiltrate into the headlamp through hotmelt adhesive debonding part caused by adhesion force degradation and poor quality. IR spectra shows that adhesion force degradation are characterized by increase of some functional group(1742, 1710, 1649, 1016). Through the ESPI measurement, it is turned out that bonding structural change by thermal expansion and degradation of adhesive can be the cause of void generation. So it is recommended that cooling passage and the bonding part should be redesigned to give a guarantee of less thermal stress and high adhesion quality.

Development of a Brushless Linear DC Motor for High Speed and Precise Position Control (고속 정밀용 브러시 없는 리니어 직류 모터 개발)

  • Recently, we have developed a linear brushless DC motor(LBLDCM) with high speed and precise position control performance to apply it to the semiconductor assembly and inspection machinery. It is composed of double side alignment by two armature-stator pairs and each pair is consist of a moving armature with 8 poles by 3 phase coils and a stator with rare earth permanent magnet (Nd-Fe-B) arrays. Through the thrust force analysis on a simplified and whole model of the suggested LBLDCM by an Electromagnetic FEM solver, skew angle of magnet arrays to reduce the thrust force ripple and the winding conditions of the armature is designed. From experimental results, the user's requirements was satisfied and we confirmed distinctly that the repeatable accuracy less than a micron of the linear motion can be obtained at high speed by the developed LBLDCM. This is owing to directly drive the work without the gear train.

  • 최근의 전자기기는 반도체 기술의 급속한 발전에 따라 소형화, 고기능화 및 다양화 뿐만 아니라 경박단소화되는 추세에 있다. 이러한 시장의 요구에 대응하여 표면실장용 전자부품이 등장하여 그 사용이 점차증가하고 있고 여기에 발맞춰 국내 . 외 전자기기 제조업체가 제품내의 PCB를 SMD화하는 추세에 있다. 따라서 표면실장 부품의 조립을 위한 고밀도, 고정도의 실장기술의 개발이 요구되고 있다. 또한 부품 자동삽입 등 기존의 방법들로 조립된, 전자기기 내부에 사용 되는 PCB의 조립상태 및 각 부품의 특성들을 검사하기 위한 In-circuit Tester의 기술도 빠른 속도로 발전하여 자동화되어가고 있는 추세에 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구소에서는 '90년에 능 Mounter GCA-M2000 모델을 개발 완료하였고 현재 관련 사업부에서 양산중에 있으며, 아날로그 방식 및 디지털 방식의 In-circuit Tester 모델도 개발 완료하여 현재 양산 중에 있다. 이 지면을 빌어 소개할 기회를 갖고자 한다.
