플라이애시의 활성도지수 평가에 관한 기초적 연구 (Fundamental Study on Evaluation method of Activity Factor of Fly Ash)

  • In the evaluation method of KS on the activity factor of fly ash, same amount of cement should be replaced with fly ash. Therefore, contradictory effects on concrete strength exist, i. e. strength decease due to low content of cement and strength increase of strength due to filling-pore-function of fly ash. European Committee for Standardization (CEN) specifies the method 1 to 4. adding fly ash without reducing the content of cement, for the evaluation method on activity factor of fly ash. This study investigates the applicability of the method 2 of CEN to mix design of concrete. The followings are derived ; There is a key ratio of f)y ash mixing which enhances the incremental ratio of mixing water to improve fluidity of mortar. The incremental ratio of mixing water is maximized about 11% ratio of fly ash mixing. Compressive strength most slightly increases at that ratio of fly ash mixing. Activity factor of fly ash increases as water-cement ratio becomes low and contents of fly ash becomes high. Moreover, quality of fly ash and condition of mix design affect the applicable amount of fly ash and available range of water-cement ratio. However, this method has some problems for practical purpose because activity factors of fly ash for some cases are over 1.0. Further research should be conducted to develop more useful method of evaluating activity factor of fly ash.

재생굵은골재를 사용한 초유동 콘크리트의 유동성 (Fluidity of Super Flow Concrete Using Recycled Coarse Aggregate)

  • This study was performed to evaluate fluidity of super flow concrete using recycled coarse aggregate. The unit weight was $2,246{\sim}2,344\;kg/m^3$, the unit weights of these concrete were decreased with increasing the content of fly ash and recycled coarse aggregate. The slump flow was $58{\sim}63\;cm$, the Box type passing was $3.4{\sim}6.8\;cm$, respectively. The L type compacting was excellent in the fly ash content $10\%\;and\;20\%$, but, it was showed in good in the fly ash content $30\%$. The super flow concretes using recycled coarse aggregate were improved by substitution in the range of less than the fly ash content $20\%$ and recycled coarse aggregate content $75\%$. This recycled coarse aggregate can be used for super flow concrete.

  • This paper discussed hydrothermal reactivity of Ca(OH)2 and classified bituminous fly ashes which were collected at an electrostatic precipitator in coal fired power plant at 181$^{\circ}C$. The major products of hydrothermal reaction were tobermorite and hydrogrossularite because bituminous fly ashes contained Al2O3 content greater than 20 wt%. As increasing amount of Al2O3 content greater than 20 wt%. As increasing amount of Al2O3 in glass phases, formation of hydrogrossularite increased. Formation rate of crystalline tobermorite increased with content of finer particles, higher glass content and more Al2O3 in glass phases. There was a positive correlation between residue on 45${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ sieve and hydrothermal reactivity of fly ash up to 3 hours. The hydrothermal reactivity of fly ash at 181$^{\circ}C$ for 12 hours was more affected by fineness than by glass content of fly ash.

  • 무연탄회(無煙炭灰)와 유연탄회(有煙炭灰)를 식양토(埴壤土)에서는 12톤/10a씩 1년 및 3년간(年間) 처리(處理)하고, 사양토(砂壤土)에서는 2년간(年間) 처리(處理)된 토양내(土壤內)의 토심(土深) 30cm, 60cm, 100cm에서의 침투수중(浸透水中) 중금속(重金屬) 함량(含量)을 조사(調査)한 결과(結果)는 다음과 같다. 1. 식양토(埴壤土) 논에서 무연탄회(無煙炭灰) 처리(處理)로 Zn는 무처리(無處理)보다 증가(增加)되었으며 토심(土深)이 깊을수록 증가(增加)되는 경향이나 유의성(有意性)은 없었다. 2. 식양질(埴壤質) 논에서 석탄회(石炭灰)를 3년간(年間) 연용(連用)한 결과(結果), 석탄회(石炭灰) 처리(處理)로 Pb와 Zn는 석탄회(石炭灰) 처리(處理)로 무처리구(無處理區) 보다 다소 증가(增加)되었고 토심별(土深別)로는 Pb만이 100cm 토심(土深)에서 증가(增加)되었으나, 기타 성분(成分)은 석탄회처리구(石炭灰處理區)가 무처리구(無處理區) 보다 감소(減少)되었다. 3. 사양질(砂壤質) 논에서 석탄회(石炭灰)를 2년간(年間) 처리(處理)로 무연탄회(無煙炭灰) 처리(處理)에서는 Cd, Ni, Mn은 유의성(有意性)있게 증가(增加)되었고 심토(深土)에서도 증가(增加)되었으나 기타 성분은 유사하거나 감소되었다.

하동화력발전소 비산재의 입도크기와 미연탄소 함량이 지오폴리머의 압축강도에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Particle Size and Unburned Carbon Content of Fly Ash from Hadong Power Plant on Compressive Strength of Geopolymers)

  • Fly ash is one of the aluminosilicate sources used for the synthesis of geopolymers. The particle size distribution of fly ash and the content of unburned carbon residue are known to affect the compressive strength of geopolymers. In this study, the effects of particle size and unburned carbon content of fly ash on the compressive strength of geopolymers have been studied over a compositional range in geopolymer gels. Unburned carbon was effectively separated in the $-46{\mu}m$ fraction using an air classifier and the fixed carbon content declined from 3.04 wt% to 0.06 wt%. The mean particle size ($d_{50}$) decreased from $22.17{\mu}m$ to $10.79{\mu}m$. Size separation of fly ash by air classification resulted in reduced particle size and carbon residue content with a collateral increase in reactivity with alkali activators. Geopolymers produced from carbon-free ash, which was separated by air classification, developed up to 50 % higher compressive strength compared to geopolymers synthesized from raw ash. It was presumed that porous carbon particles hinder geopolymerization by trapping vitreous spheres in the pores of carbon particles and allowing them to remain intact in spite of alkaline attack. The microstructure of the geopolymers did not vary considerably with compressive strength, but the highest connectivity of the geopolymer gel network was achieved when the Si/Al ratio of the geopolymer gel was 5.0.

원지의 충전물 함량이 도공지의 접힘 터짐에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Ash Content in Base Paper on Fold Cracking of Coated Paper)

  • High loading of base paper is regarded as one of reasons to aggravate fold cracking of coated paper. But the relationship between the ash content of base paper and fold cracking of coated paper has not been shown yet. We investigated the effect of ash content in base paper on the fold cracking of coated paper. Handsheets with three different ash contents (19.5-23.5%) were prepared, and double layered coating were applied on the top side of the handsheets. A gravimetric water retention meter (AA-GWR) was employed to fold the paper with a uniform pressure after solid printing on the coated surface. The fold cracking was digitized by calculating the cracked area by means of an image analysis technique. Results suggested that high ash content in the base paper increased the fold cracking of the outer surface of coated papers. In the case of inner surface greater fold crack areas were obtained, and the number of cracks decreased because long and wide cracks were formed. Reduction in tensile strength and thickness appeared to give greater fold cracking for highly loaded papers.

레드머드가 첨가된 흙-시멘트 포장의 일축압축강도 (Unconfined Compressive Strength of Soil-Cement Pavement with Recycled Red Mud)

  • 알루미늄 제조 시 발생하는 산업부산물인 Red mud가 첨가된 흙-시멘트 포장 재료를 개발하기 위하여 일축압축강도시험을 수행하였으며 Red mud 함유율, 시멘트 함유율, Fly ash 대체 비율 및 모래의 대체 비율이 일축압축강도에 미치는 영향을 검토하기 위하여 양생기간 7일, 14일 및 21일에 대한 공시체를 제작하였다. 시험결과, Red mud와 Fly ash 함유량이 감소할수록 시멘트 함유량이 증가할수록 일축압축강도는 증가하였고, 화강풍화잔류토를 사용할 경우 모래의 대체 비율에 따른 일축압축강도에 미치는 영향은 없는 것으로 나타났다.

소각잔사 중의 클로로벤젠과 클로로페놀의 함량 및 이성체 분포특성 (The Content of Chlorobenzenes and Chlorophenols and Their Isomer in MSWI Fly Ash)

  • Chlorobenzenes (CBs) and chlorophenols (CPs) in fly ashy discharged from several municipal solid waste incinerators (MSWI) were investigated in terms of total content and isomer distribution. The content of CBs and CPs was highest in the fly ash from S incinerator, which were 1040.7ng CB/g-fly ash and 1156.4 ng CP/g-fly ash. According to the experimental results, while all samples contained a large amount of the higher chlorinated CBs, was almost constant regardless of season. The quantities of CBs and CPs depended closely on the chemical composition of MSW. while the isomer distribution of CBs and CPs was constant throughout all the year round.

Fracture behavior of fly ash concrete containing silica fume

  • Effect of silica fume on fresh properties, compressive strength at 28 days and fracture behavior of fly ash concrete composite were studied in this paper. Test results indicated that the fluidity and flowability of fly ash concrete composites decreased and fly ash concrete composite are more cohesive and appear to be sticky with the addition of silica fume. Addition of silica fume was very effective in improving the compressive strength at 28 days of fly ash concrete composite, and the compressive strength of fly ash concrete composite has a trend of increase with the increase of silica fume content. Results also indicated that all the fracture parameters of effective crack length, fracture toughness, fracture energy, the critical crack opening displacement and the maximum crack opening displacement of fly ash concrete composite decreased with the addition of silica fume. When the content of silica fume increased from 3% to 12%, these fracture parameters decreased gradually with the increase of silica fume content. Furthermore, silica fume had great effect on the relational curves of the three-point bending beam specimen. As the silica fume content increased from 3% to 12%, the areas surrounded by the three relational curves and the axes were becoming smaller and smaller, which indicated that the capability of concrete composite containing fly ash to resist crack propagation was becoming weaker and weaker.

물-시멘트비 및 바텀애쉬 대체율에 따른 콘크리트의 공학적 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Engineering Properties of Concrete according to W/C and Replacement Ratio of Bottom Ash)

  • 최근 전력사용량의 증가에 따라 화력발전소에서 발생하는 석탄회량도 증가하고 있으며, 이로 인한 환경오염, 생태계 파괴 등의 문제가 크게 대두됨에 따라 이러한 석탄회를 재활용하기 위한 노력이 국가 사회적으로 시급히 요구되고 있다. 본 연구는 물-시멘트비 및 바텀애쉬 대체율에 따른 콘크리트의 공학적 특성을 비교검토하기 위하여, 물-시멘트비를 40, 50, 60%, 바텀애쉬 대체율을 0, 10, 20, 35, 50%로 설정하여 제조한 콘크리트의 특성을 비교 분석함으로서 바텀애쉬의 효율적 활용방안 및 이용기술의 개발을 위한 기초자료를 제시하고자 한다. 실험결과, 블리딩량의 경우 바텀애쉬 대체율이 증가할수록 다소 감소하였으며, 바텀애쉬를 대체한 콘크리트의 염화물 함유량은 대체율이 증가할수록 상대적으로 증가하였으나, 콘크리트 표준시방서에서 제안하고 있는 $0.30kg/m^3$ 이하를 모두 만족하는 것으로 나타났다. 압축강도의 경우 바텀애쉬를 대체한 콘크리트와 플레인콘크리트가 유사한 수준으로 나타났으며, 바텀애쉬 대체율이 증가할수록 상대적으로 중성화 깊이가 증가하였으나 물-시멘트비가 감소함에 따라 이러한 차이가 감소하는 것으로 나타났다.
