Part of public arts, environmental sculpture not only enhance the beauty of a building, but also a landmark having intimate values with the city environment and symbolic meanings. 'Space storytelling' is not only a connecting bridge between the space and human, but also plays a role in promoting creation of story like a catalyst. Storytelling is expanding to many related industries and one of which is artistic structure, and the storytelling of residental space is getting widely applied to establish the competitive superiority. The purpose of this study involves logically examination the service deliver process of space storytelling based on the residential space. And this study expected to research the influencing factors about purchase and service delivery process of artistic structure.

We present a deep CNN-based approach for classifying artistic media from artwork images. We aim to classify most frequently used artistic media including oilpaint brush, watercolor brush, pencil and pastel, etc. For this purpose, we extend VGGNet, one of the most widely used CNN structure, by substituting its last layer with a fully convolutional layer, which reveals class activation map (CAM), the region of classification. We build two artwork image datasets: YMSet that collects more than 4K artwork images for four most frequently used artistic media from various internet websites and WikiSet that collects almost 9K artwork images for ten most frequently used media from WikiArt. We execute a human baseline experiment to compare the classification performance. Through our experiments, we conclude that our classifier is superior in classifying artistic media to human.

This article aimed at identifying the concept of 'artistic-quality' of furniture and presenting the concept of 'artistic-quality based furniture creation' as the future direction of furniture design. For this, the authors approached to the theoretical background of the concept of artistic-quality, and then examined the prospect of practical application of the concept by analyzing the tendencies in today's art furniture. In this light, 'artistic-quality' of furniture could be understood as a quality that triggers the designer's venturous spirit throughout the process of furniture creation, so that the designer keeps seeking for the novelty and innovation in his experimental design and process. The feature of the current tendencies of art furniture in terms of the expression and effect, which could explain this venturous spirit of artistic-quality based furniture creation, could be summarized as follows; first, High-touch: Furniture that exemplifies the artistic-quality by specific texture of handmade quality, second, High-feeling: Furniture that arouses the new feelings and new concepts of furniture structure & function by experiments on new abstract forms of furniture, and third, High-mentality: Furniture that leads us to the sphere of subtle aesthetic recognition and mentality with its specific poetic expression and sensibility.

Criticism of today finds itself in an awkward situation, for it is now being transformed in the same way that literature and the arts were transformed by the avant-garde movements at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. It is characterized predominantly by a break with harmony and with the values of realism. As such, it is driven by a post-modem ethos, an artistic, social, and cultural phenomenon that veers toward open, fragmentary, and indeterminate forms. In this paper, I examine today's most urgent social and cultural issues with reference to artistic production and criticism, in order to illuminate the true nature of criticism. The outstanding questions in the world of art criticism are given in five categories: the lack of critical reality in argumentative criticism; the problem of artistic and literary production in global capitalism; the artistic mind and its consciousness of socio-historical ideology; anxiety of the rise of cyberjournalistic criticism; and the question of subordination to western systems in the field of interpretation and criticism. For my analysis, I have tried to formulate a three-dimensional critique structure that will help us organize the relationships between the points of argument: 1) criticism as a creative force behind the artist; 2) criticism as critique of artistic production; and 3) criticism as critique of other critics. This multi-layered structure will be appropriate to our task of interpretation and evaluation, as the proposed complex structure of criticism will be able to embrace the diverse aspects of our problematic argument. In the final analysis, my argument resolves itself into a question of art, more specifically into a question of criticism as a protective device of art in an age threatened by globalization and cultural monopolization.

This study deals with the expressive characteristics of Installation Art and their applicability to environmental design, and as such, aims to specify a artistic methods from the contemporary art. What Installation Art is search of in their works is "the state of relationships" which is "to replace the concept of form with that of structure, and the concept of space with that of the environment" that is, the terms of relations in the overall environment of time and space. Installation Art essentially relies on a multiplicity of forms and attitudes leading to projects which positively make use of "spatial-temporal process" to reaffirm and "problematise" their open-endedness manifest in complex contextuality and shifting temporality. This study presents a new interpretation of spatial-temporal dimension, site-specificity, and intermedia art that we find in Installation Art and tries to combine that new artistic insight a with environmental design to provide a basis for integrated art. This study places a great emphasis on the interdisciplinary approaches to the environment we inhabit, which I hope will contribute to generating a greater number of creative possibilities for environmental design.

The purpose of this Study is to present the tasks and means of improving the operational system of public culture and arts institutes in the future on the basis of the analysis of the effectiveness of operation of public culture and arts institutes. The summary of the results of analysis in this Study is as follows: Firstly, it was found that the factor variables that impart effect on the operation of public culture and arts institutes included (1) artistic value, (2) convenience and (3) organizational management, while the performance variable of public culture and arts institutes was (4) operational performance. Secondly, in the analysis of the structure that explains the operational effects of public culture and arts institutes, convenience and organizational management were found to impart effects on the operational performances. However, artistic value was found to have no effect on operational performances. Therefore, these results of analysis imply that organizational management and convenience, rather than artistic value, need to be fortified in order to elevate the operational performances of public culture and arts institutes.

Furniture in the modern living environment, inclusive the importance of its practical value, is a plastic element of indoor space, and its artistic value also holds an important position. Moreover, emotional design based on the emotional engineering in a structural change of modern society such as urbanization, small family, aging society is proposed as an important keyword in the modern design. Namely, furniture as an component of modern residential space has been advanced as a human-oriented environmental element considering people's emotional and mental value to the functional satisfaction and artistic and emotional satisfaction. Furniture is a living tool that is much contacted to people, which affects highly on people's body and mind. This means that people's volition action can be naturally induced by furniture design, and that furniture can display a role as an active tool of means to make people's interpersonal communication and interchange. Namely, I think furniture design of emotional interchange that understands furniture user's pattern behavior and pattern, and observes furniture form and structure and functionality on users' relationship affecting on people's emotional stability and interpersonal interchange of emotion, as an indispensable element necessary for producing more human and prosperous environment of life.

This paper analyzes the artistic practical use of social network visualization through the aesthetic information interpretation. The first social network visualization has emerged as 'Sociogram' in the form of social network analysis(SNA). Since social network has complex, the analyzing technology of social network has emerged. Early social network visualization has a practical purpose to measure the social structure, but current social network visualization divided into various forms from artistic expressions through information. This paper divide into two categories based on the artistic application of social network visualization. First, this research focuses on the static graph based on analog. Second, this research analyze the category of interacted visualization to generate a real-time digital image. This paper presents the fusion of paradigm between engineering and art through this way.

This study aims to explain the image of historic objects in matters of the artistic impulse. Two Pagodas in the Temple Bulguksa, those have a concrete character of the "matter & form" in the structure and buddhistic background, are chosen for this study. With analysis and synthesis of the form and structure, those must be handled by overlaping, lifting and comparing in plan, elevation and mass, the structural pattern of them can be theoretically explained and aesthetically interpreted. Conclusively, this study would be expected to make some references to the historic scene of the Temple Bulguksa.

Current architecture can receive support of and command various ways of expression by more advanced technology of the present time, this means the formation of changeable external design of building, and has the tendency to be interactive non-rheological shape. Accordingly surface of building is decorated not only by the basic function and the expression of information, but also by complex narrative image structure or text, so far as recognizes human as the subject of communication, and is trying the artistic expression interacting with the general public. In various expressive tendency of current architecture surface design, such an approach from a view of an interactive art trying the communication between architecture, art, and human has the meaning of suggesting the direction of directing emotional architecture giving a present to the morderners who are growing more and more an earnest desire for experiencing culture and art in their daily life.
