  • Objectives: The purpose of this research was to identify the top 10 most-cited articles on the management of fractured or broken instruments and to perform a bibliometric analysis thereof. Materials and Methods: Published articles related to fractured instruments were screened from online databases, such as Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed, and ScienceDirect, and highly cited papers, with at least 50 citations since publication, were identified. The most-cited articles were selected and analysed with regard to publication title, authorship, the journal of publication, year, institution, country of origin, article type, and number of citations. Results: The top 10 most-cited articles were from various journals. Most were published in the Journal of Endodontics, followed by the International Endodontic Journal, and Dental Traumatology. The leading countries were Australia, Israel, Switzerland, the USA, and Germany, and the leading institution was the University of Melbourne. The majority of articles among the top 10 articles were clinical research studies (n = 8), followed by a basic research article and a non-systematic review article. Conclusions: This bibliometric analysis revealed interesting information about scientific progress in endodontics regarding fractured instruments. Overall, clinical research studies and basic research articles published in high-impact endodontic journals had the highest citation rates.

  • Since the authors participated in the editorial committee in October 2001, many dramatic changes have been introduced to the Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society[JKNS]. The format, the external appearance, the editorial system, and the reviewing process have been transformed with new standpoints to enhance the quality and to raise the level of JKNS. The authors reviewed papers published on JKNS in 2006 with special interest on the changes of JKNS during last five years. In total, 186 articles were published on JKNS in 2006. Because the editorial committee asked two review articles to renowned neurosurgeons, there were 184 peer-reviewed articles. Eighty seven clinical articles, eighty one case reports, seven laboratory investigations, four special articles and five technical reports were published. This distribution changed from the previous year with marginal value of statistical significance [p=0.101]. The ratio of the original articles [laboratory investigations and clinical articles] decreased to 51.1% from 57.5% of 2005 but the difference was not statistically significant [p=0.222]. The number of laboratory investigations significantly decreased to 7 [3.8%] from 19 [10.4%] of 2005 [p=0.014]. Other changes such as number of authors per article, number of institutes which published papers on JKNS have been examined to assess the trend and/or change in characteristics of papers published on JKNS.

Study participants were patients (120, 38.1%), nurses (115, 36.5%) and others. IRB approval was given for 156 articles (58.2%). Written informed consent was obtained in 125 articles (46.7%). Quantitative research accounted for 98.6% of the articles but qualitative studies only 4 (1.4%). Types of interventions in the experimental studies were nursing skills (43, 42.6%) and health education (32, 31.7%). Major keywords were nurses, pain, knowledge, intensive care unit, anxiety, depression, fatigue, and stress. • In this study, temporal trend of researches in earthquake with groundwater level, water quality, radon, remote sensing, electrical resistivity, gravity, and geomagnetism was searched from 2001 to 2020, using the journals indexed in Web of Science, and the number of articles published in international journals was counted in relation to the occurrences of earthquakes (≥Mw 5.0, ≥Mw 6.0, ≥Mw 7.0, ≥Mw 8.0, and ≥Mw 9.0). The number of articles shows an increasing trend over the studied period. This is explained by that studies on earthquake precursor and seismic monitoring becomes active in various fields with integrated data analysis through the development of remote sensing technology, progress of measurement equipment, and big data. According to Mann-Kendall and Sen's tests, gravity-related articles exhibit an increasing trend of 1.30 articles/yr, radon-related articles (0.60 articles/yr), groundwater-related articles (0.70 articles/yr), electrical resistivity-related articles (0.25 articles/yr), and remote-sensing-related articles (0.67 articles/yr). By cross-correlation analysis of the number of articles in each field with removing trend effect and the number of earthquakes of ≥Mw 5.0, ≥Mw 6.0, ≥Mw 7.0, ≥Mw 8.0, and ≥Mw 9.0, radon and remote sensing fields exhibit a high cross-correlation with a delay time of one year. In addition, large-scale earthquakes such as the 2004 and 2005 Sumatra earthquake, the 2008 Sichuan earthquake, the 2010 Haiti earthquake, and the 2010 Chile earthquake are estimated to be related with the increase in the number of articles in the corresponding periods.

  • Objectives: The Korean Working Conditions Survey(KWCS), which has been conducted five times over the past 13 years, presents a diverse picture of Korean workers across occupations, genders, and age groups. This study summarized the use of KWCS and explored how to make the most of the KWCS by reviewing published peer-reviewed journal articles employing the KWCS data. Methods: Articles were selected in accordance with PRISMA protocol for a systematic literature review. A total of 155 articles were included in this review. Results: The number of articles utilizing KWCS data has been increasing by year. The articles were published in 40 Korean journals and 16 international journals. The journals were mainly in the field of occupational safety and health and sociology. Keywords of mental health, working conditions survey, workforce, health, exposure to risk factor, and working time were mainly highlighted. The articles were grouped by the goals of the KWCS as stated in the survey. The majority of published articles(129 articles, 83%) aimed to 'analyze relationships between different aspects of working conditions'. Fifteen articles(10%) were intended to 'identify groups at risk and issues of concern.' The number of articles to 'monitor trends' were limited. Conclusions: The findings underline the limited utilization of the KWCS. Attention to the range and scope of utilization of KWCS should be developed to address current challenges in occupational health and safety management and policy issues.

  • The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic continuously influences on the health and well-being of people and communities worldwide. The purpose of this study was to explore the published research articles in the fields of nursing and health during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research design is an exploratory study. Samples are the abstracts of the articles from a literature database, PubMed, that were published from January 1st, 2020 to April 15th, 2021. We used a MeSH term, 'nursing' and "COVID-19" to retrieve articles that are related to COVID-19. Five hundred and fifty-five articles were retrieved. Two hundred and sixteen articles were excluded as they were not met the inclusion criteria. The total number of articles used in this study was three hundred and thirty-nine. The average number of articles published during the data collection period was 21.9. Seven topics were discovered from the abstracts of the articles: COVID-19 management and guidance; Perinatal COVID-19 and breastfeeding; Nurse; Health service and support; Patient care; Research; and Education and experience. This study revealed some interesting topics from the articles related to COVID-19 and provided some sense of research areas that may be interesting and allow us to develop important research questions about nursing science and nursing practice.
