We treated 10 cases of the medial malleolar fracture of the ankle by open reduction and internal fixation from June 1997 to December 1997. After the rigid internal fixation, we measured the gap of the fracture site and the step off of the articular surface by special instrument under the ankle arthroscopy whether it was reduced anatomically or not. And we tried to know the necessity of the arthroscopically assisted reduction and fixation in the medial malleolar fracture of the ankle. Under the arthroscopic view, all 10 cases were anatomically reduced as less than 1 mm of gap of the fracture site and less than 1mm of step off of the articular surface after open reduction and internal fixation in the medial malleolar fractures. In conclusion, through the arthroscopic management, it has advantage in finding and treating the accompanying intraarticular lesion, but also has disadvantage in setting the arthroscope and prolonging the operation time.

관절경하 슬관절 수술 후 발생하는 폐색전증은 발생 빈도가 매우 드물며, 대부분의 경우 별다른 임상 증상이 없는 것으로 알려져 있다. 저자들은 40세 남자 환자에서 관절경하 부분 절제술 시행 후 증상을 유발하는 폐색전증이 발생한 증례를 경험하였기에 이를 보고하고자 한다.

A new pump used in arthroscopy surgery was developed. The pump is driven by pneumatic air compressor and controlled by a stepper motor connected to an air regulator. Pressure control performance was observed to be similar compared to commercially available artheroscopy pumps. However, pressure pulses observed in the commercial pumps driven by multiple rollers disappeared in the pneumatically driven pump. The new pump required containers to enclose and squeeze saline solution packs. A dramatic saving in manufacture cost is expected considering the simple pneumatic drive used in this pump.

전방 십자 인대 재건술의 빈도가 증가함에 따라 재재건술의 빈도 또한 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 관절경의 발전과 수술 술기의 발달에도 불구하고 많은 환자들이 재건술 후 불 만족스러운 결과를 보여주고 있다. 이에 일차적 전방십자 인대 재건술의 실패의 원인과 재재건술의 수술 술기와 환자에 대한 접근에 대하여 알아보고자 한다.

대퇴골두의 연골 용해증은 관절 연골의 진행성 파괴로 인해, 이차적으로 발생하는 관절 간격의 감소와 강직이 특징이며, 이는 특발성으로 발생하는 경우가 가장 많고, 이차적 원인으로는 감염이나 외상 또는 장기간 고정 등이 거론되고 있다. 저자들은 45세 남자에서 화농성 고관절염 후 발생한 대퇴골두 연골 용해증을 경험하고 관절경하에서 치험하였기에 보고하는 바이다.
