Development of A Performance Model of the Foodservice Industry

  • This study reviewed previous researches about the competence selection of foodservice firms, and shows firm's performance model through the results. The study classified factors according to core competence, differentiation strategy, and management performance. Out of 400 survey responses from by the firm's executive and employees who had worked for over three years at the headquarters (sales, financial, marketing/plan, R & D, etc.), a total of 302 questionnaires were used for the final analysis due to missing values and biased responses (response rate: 75.5%). As the results of analyzing final research model of this study, it appeared that ${\chi}^2(df=170)=384.88$, ${\chi}^2/df=2.26$, GFI=0.90, NFI=0.92, CFI=0.95, RMSEA=0.07. The results indicated that the CEO leadership, organizational culture, and human resource competencies are a driving force in all aspects of competitive advantage differentiation strategies. In addition, the R & D innovation, service, and marketing differentiation strategies are positively related to performance. The results validate the fact that foodservice firms could reinforce strategic decisions through a variety core competencies and achieve continuous performance through competitive strategies.

Collaborations in Fashion and Arts Across Industry Disciplines (패션, 예술, 산업의 협업사례 고찰)

  • Product development and marketing that appeal to consumer emotions are important as shown by a variety of product and service industries that integrate fashion and arts into product design and marketing through collaboration. This study attempted to analyze the patterns in the collaborations of fashion and arts across industry disciplines. A total of 278 collaboration cases reported in news articles were collected from internet databases. Cases were categorized into 5 disciplines of fashion-fashion, arts-arts, fashion-arts, fashion-other industries, and arts-other industries, with each category analyzed in frequency distribution and collaboration type along with related partner and industry characteristics. Collaborations with other industries were observed more than internal ones, and individuals (rather than firms) were more involved in collaborations. Though the collaboration characteristics were different by partner category and sub-category, by individual or firm, and by related industries, a variety of collaborations integrating fashion and arts into product design and development, a new brand launching, product line extension, and co-marketing were observed across product and industry disciplines. The study also described fashion and arts that were integrated into consumer life styles.

Relationship among Restaurant Owner's SNS Marketing, Trust, Purchase Intention, and Word of Mouth Intention

  • Purpose - This study analyzes effects of word of mouth intention of restaurant product via SNS on trust of products, purchase intention, and word of mouth intention targeting restaurant customers. Research design, data, and methodology - Targeting restaurant customers, 500 surveys were distributed in restaurants located in Seoul (where restaurants are clustered, such as Myeongdong, Dongdaemoon Station Shopping Center, and Sadangdong) between July 1st, 2016 and July 30th, 2016. Among those, 490 were collected, and 478 were used for analysis excluding those with no answer or insincere answers. Results - SNS word of mouth information characteristics had significant effects on trust of restaurant product in the order of vividness, neutrality, and timing. Trust on restaurant product has significant effect on perceived risks (-) and perceived benefits (+) by SNS. While perceived benefits of restaurant product on SNS has effect on purchase intention, perceived risks of restaurant product on SNS does not affect purchase intention. Perceived benefits of restaurant product on SNS has significant effect on word of mouth intention, whereas perceived risks of restaurant product on SNS does not have significant effect on word of mouth intention. Conclusions - As marketing through SNS can bring about a huge reduction effect in terms of marking cost, it can be utilized as an effective promotion by not only large restaurant corporations, but also small restaurants.

  • Today's hotel cannot be defined merely as a place of providing food and lodgin. It must be a high level cultural ground serving as a place of rest for the people and as a place of art, culture and communication for the local community. Although each hotel has its own distinctiveness it must share a unified services and product sales strategies with one another in order to raise each other's sales values. The service is evaluated on the basis of the customer's own living standard and social class. There ought to be variety of personal and material services taking the sophistication and complexity of the customer's needs into onsideration. More effective marketing strategy is called for upon knowing such sales strategy and service marketing of the hotel management. Hotel's food marketing must take into consideration the product's simulaneous and vanishing qualities, its dependency upon ordering and its relationship to human services industries. Methods of increasing profit and customer satisfaction management need to be made. Especially the changes in the customer's tourist mind set and eat-out behavior play as important variabls, and the management needs to be reflexive enough to respond quickly to those changes.

The Marketing Strategy of K-Beauty Product to Enhance Economic Growth in South Korea

  • Purpose: K-beauty products industry trends, estimates and dynamics are examined in this study to discover a potential possibility for growth. There is a thorough examination of the elements that drive and impede the expansion of the K-beauty industry. This study aims to investigate marketing strategy of K beauty product to enhance economic growth in South Korea. Research design, data and methodology: This study used one of the most famous approach for analyzing the current literature which is a PRISMA (Process and Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) method. This method maps out the number of records identified, the included and the excluded ones with the reasons for the exclusion. The technique clearly states the research problem and the appropriate scope. Results: The theoretical findings of prior literature indicates K-beauty companies should retain physical locations despite the trend toward online commerce, in order to guarantee that they meet the demands of different customers and enhance customer experiences to develop trust and loyalty. Conclusions: The findings of this research are of academic importance since they provide light on customer preferences for new K-beauty products. While past research has often ignored certain kinds of influencers, this study emphasized the need of considering influencers and certain product exposure strategies together, which has major academic consequences.

Marketing for Real and Virtual Museums: A marketing Model to Explain Visitor Behavior in Real Museums and an Outlook on its Applicability to Virtual Museums

  • The purpose of this study is to obtain more insight into the explanation and prognosis of consumer behavior in real and virtual museums. The analysis focuses on the influence of the museum environment on the museum patrons (rather than on the influence of the art objects). On the basis of the emotional approach to environmental psychology by Mehrabian and Russell (1974), a behavior model has been developed for museums. The model, which is based on the emotional variables pleasure, arousal and dominance (PAD), is also enhanced by cognitive variabies (learning attractiveness, education standard and information demand). The enhancement of the classical model was necessary because cognitive variables play a major role in cultural institutions such as museums: One important objective of museums is the communication of cultural knowledge to visitors. The model is tested empirically using structural equation modeling. 301 visitors were interviewed individually. Two different museum environments were represented using visual stimuli. The theoretical model for museums can be proved empirically. The degree to which the model fits the empirical data was extensively tested. The model showed high compatibility with the data and could be accepted. The study proves that a model can be developed, which explains visitor behavior in museums. The model shows museum designers how museums should be designed to be both emotionally appealing and a learning environment. Based on empirical studies in virtual stores on the Internet, it is discussed whether the research findings in these environments may be applied to virtual museum environments. In order to create an emotionally appealing virtual museum, it is recommended that one uses a 3-dimensional representation to offer various possibilities for interaction and to create a multi-sensual environment that appears highly realistic.

Korean Air: Bringing Art and Culture to the World (대한항공의 문화마케팅 전략)

  • In the ever competitive world airline industry, Korean Air has been seeking on the one hand to streamline its operations through cost control and at the same time to boost customer loyalty and retention through a strong service differentiation strategy. As part of their service differentiation strategy, Korean Air has been actively engaging in culture marketing campaign. Their main activity involves entering into an alliance with the three leading museums of the world. Beginning with the Luvre of France, Korean Air supported the development of voice narration system that included the Korean language. This case describes the efforts of Korean Air to go beyond simply being a company that transports people and packages, to a global leading carrier that links the cities, cultures, and arts of the world. In the process, the case introduces the strategies and detailed actions behind Korean Air's culture marketing efforts.

Types and Characteristics of South Korean Crossover Picturebooks

  • This study explored types and characteristics of South Korean crossover picturebooks that are enjoyed across generations. Participants included three publishers, six critics, six illustrators and three picturebook researchers, and focused on 92 South Korean recommended picturebooks published from 1995 to 2014 as the research material for this study. The majority of Korean crossover picturebook type was story, followed by information and art. There were few wordless books. Common themes of the story picturebooks were contemplation, traditional culture, social changes (such as immigration and redevelopment), reminiscence, social relations, loss and death, family problems, and social incidents. Classic essays and novels were revised for picturebooks as were famous poems originally written for grown-ups. Informational books were about traditions in music, architecture, furniture and special occasions like wedding and ceremonies. The style of the drawings were precise and realistic. Some drawings were done by brush and Chinese ink on hanji (traditional Korean paper) or silk. Some books featured Korean calligraphy as well, enabling adult readers to also appreciate the beauty and delicacy of the books. Art books and wordless books were quite rare and exhibited a playful tone. Adults alone were not presumed to be the primary reading audience of the picture books. Implications were made for picturebook marketing in a society such as South Korea, where the elderly population is rapidly increasing. Various forms of art books and parodies were also welcome. One conclusion of the study was that more experimental and innovative works would be encouraging for the development of South Korean crossover picturebooks.

Roles of A Fashion Museum in Fashion Tourism (패션투어리즘에서의 패션박물관의 역할)

  • Fashion can be regarded as an effective marketing tool for the promotion of urban tourism. Since fashion is attractive in itself, it can work as a resource which fascinates people and attracts many tourists to the city. This study examines fashion tourism based on the close relationship between fashion and tourism. This study focuses on analyzing the positive effect of the existence of a fashion museum on the advent of fashion tourism, in particular. A fashion museum can be classified in the same category as an art museum, whereby the museum exists as specializing in fashion and is considered a fashion brand museum. Thus, this study examines the current trends and characteristics of fashion museums and analyzes roles of fashion museums in fashion tourism by types, which are based on advanced researches of general tourism including trends in the fashion tourism industry. The results of this study are as follows: First, a fashion museum can help spread the word and educate tourists about fashion culture. Second, a fashion museum can increase the value of its brand by strengthening the city's identity. Lastly, the presence of a fashion museum would encourage tourists to spend more money in the city, which causes a ripple effect on the city's economy such as creating more jobs within the fashion.

  • Recently, several kinds of researches using IoT wearable devices are active in the field of sports, design, emotional sciences and so on. The human bio data such as blood pulse, ECG, SKT signal, and GSR Signal producing from IoT wearable devices such as Watch, Smart-band, Grass can adapt to the meaningful future applications. Using the human's emotional data and a physical status with variation and so on, we can individually get the personal status. Due to knowing the personal emotion or physical status is related and connected to the valuable wallet of customers, the approach is more important in nowadays. Therefore, the personal information can effectively adapt to the marketing of the culture industry, which deals with emotions of customers. The research shows implementation steps for explaining overall architecture of the convergence research between Art and Technologies.
