  • The reliable measurement of geotechnical properties in cold regions should account for their fluctuations with temperature. The objective of this paper is to introduce a chemical model based on the Arrhenius equation that can predict the properties of materials as their temperature changes. The model can monitor phases and reaction rates as they change with temperature. It has been already applied in the fields of geology, construction, chemistry, materials engineering, and food science. The application of the Arrhenius equation requires a reliable estimate of the activation energy. Therefore, this study also demonstrates several methods for evaluating activation energy in different contexts through summaries and reviews of previous research related to the Arrhenius equation. This paper may be of wide use in obtaining temperature-dependent parameters in geotechnical engineering.

  • In this paper, we studied the correlation between the activation energy($E_a$) of the raw materials and the structural characteristics of the White LED PKGs. The samples used in the study were composed of low power LED 3type and high power LED 5type. To calculate the activation energy($E_a$) of the White LED PKGs conducted three conditions of high temperature operation test based on the Arrhenius model. The number of samples used in the experiment is 10, respectively. The $T_j$ of Conditions and target specifics expressed $T_{j1}$, $T_{j2}$, $T_{j3}$. The activation energy ($E_a$) of the samples was calculated based on the value of the actually measured lifetime. We investigated the correlation between the activation energy ($E_a$) of the raw materials and the structural characteristics of the White LED PKGs. As a result, White LED PKGs activation energy($E_a$) value was confirmed that the material properties affected more than the structural characteristics of the LED PKGs and we found that activation energy of each LED Model has difference. Normally, The activation energy of phosphor of YAG type was indicated from 0.21 to 0.25[eV] and Silicate type was indicated from 0.12 to 0.16[eV]. According to the results, we confirmed that the activation energy of phosphor of YAG type is higher more than The activation energy of phosphor of Silicate type.

  • The activation energy of a material is an important factor that significantly affects the lifetime and can be used to develop a degradation model. In this study, a thermal analysis was carried out to evaluate and collect quantitative data on the degradation of insulation materials like EPR and CSP used for nuclear power plant cables. The activation energy was determined from the relationship between log ${\beta}$ and 1/T based on the Flynn.Wall.Ozawa method, by a TGA test. The activation energy was also derived from the relationship between ln(t) and 1/T based on isothermal analysis, by an OIT test. The activation energy of EPR derived from thermal analysis was used to calculate the accelerated aging time corresponding to the number of years of use, employing the Arrhenius equation, and determine the elongation corresponding to the accelerated aging time.

  • In this article, an analytically and numerically 3D nanoliquid flow by a porous rotatable disk is presented in the presence of gyrotactic microorganisms. The mathematical model in the form of partial differential system is transmuted into dimensionless form by utilizing the appropriate transformation. The homotopy analysis approach is applied to attain the analytic solution of the problem. The effect of promising parameters on velocity distribution, temperature profile, nanoparticles volume fraction and motile microorganism distribution field are evaluated through graphs and in tabular form. The existence of Brownian motion and thermophoresis impacts are more proficient for heat transfer enhancement. Further the unique features like heat absorption/generation and energy activation are also examined for the present flow problem. The obtained results are compared with the earliear investigation to check the accuracy of present model.

  • Intermittent CSR testing was used to investigate the degradation of a hydrogenated NBR(HNBR) O-rings, and also the prediction of its life-time. The cure system of HNBR O-ring was controlled as sulfur cure and peroxide cure system. An intermittent CSR jig was designed taking into consideration the O-ring's environment under use. The testing allowed observation of the effects of friction, heat loss, and stress relaxation by the Mullins effect. Degradation of O-rings by thermal aging was observed between 100 and $120^{\circ}C$. In the temperature range of $100-120^{\circ}C$, O-rings showed linear degradation behavior and satisfied the Arrhenius relationship. The activation energy of HNBR-S was about 70.6 kJ/mol. From Arrhenius plots, predicted life-times of HNBR-S O-ring were 31.1 years and 33.7 years for 50% and 40% failure conditions, respectively. In case of HNBR-P, the activation energy was about 72.1kJ/mol, and predicted life-times were 34.0 years and 36.5 years for 50% and 40% failure conditions, respectively. The peroxide cure system showed slower degradation rate and higher activation energy than the sulfur cure system.

  • Arrhenius kinetic constants, the activation energy and the pre-exponential factor, of energetic material $BKNO_3$ are estimated using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). Different from the conventional way, the activation energy was estimated more precisely through DSC aging trial, and the consumed fraction by heat was calculated by comparing the integration of heat flow. We suggested the condition of accelerated aging test for the energetic material $BKNO_3$ and reconsidered the meaning of the thermal accelerated aging.

  • Cure kinetics of diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A(DGEBA)/4,4'-methylene dianiline(MDA) with hydroquinone-phenyl glycidyl ether(HQ-PGE) as a reactive additive, which was preliminarily synthesized, was investigated by DSC and FT-IR analyses. Kissinger equation and Arrhenius' equation were used to calculate activation energy and pre-exponential factor. When HQ-PGE was added to DGEBA/MDA system, it reduced activation energy of system. When the 5 phr of HQ-PGE was added to DGEBA/MDA system, activation energy was 7.8 kcal/mol by FT-IR analysis and 11.3 kcal/mol by DSC, in comparison with the system without HQ-PGE, activation energy decreased about 30% and 9%, respectively. According to these results, HQ-PGE, introducing agent of this system, acted as a catalyst.

  • In this paper, EPR (ethylene propylene rubber) insulation material was accelerated degradation test at $121^{\circ}C$, $136^{\circ}C$, $151^{\circ}C$, and experiment the typical EAB (elongation at break) at mechanical characteristics analysis. It is shown that the failure-time at the point of 50% of the initial value of Elongation rate to obtain the activation energy. The failure-time was shown each 5,219 hr, 3,165 hr, and 668 hr at three temperatures. In order to derive the activation energy, Arrhenius methodology was applied. Also, we got the Arrhenius plot from three accelerated temperatures. The activation energy values got 0.98 eV from EAB test. The experimental data were evaluated for estimating the probability density, and the suitable distribution by using statistical program MINITAB. It is shown that EAB data by the acceleration thermal degradation is most suitable for the Weibull distribution.

  • Safety-related equipments of Nuclear Power Plants(NPP) have to perform environmental qualification test in accordance with IEEE-323 standards. However, non-metallic materials replace new one regularly instead of the test because they are considered as consumable parts. In this study, the seven kinds of non-metallic materials are selected and their activation energy was experimentally evaluated with uncertainty analysis by using thermogravimetric analyzer(TGA). In order to obtain activation energy of non-metallic materials, mass difference, temperature raising rate and conversion rate on the specimen are analyzed. It is postulated that the three experiment conditions are important to get a reliable activation energy. This postulate was experimentally confirmed using Arrhenius equation and Flynn-Wall-Ozawa analysis.

  • It was investigated the properties of TSC (Thermally Stimulated Current) to understand carriers behavior from long ago. Activation Energy of their properties is very important to verify electrical characteristics. So, for many years, many researchers were worked to get the activation energy, more compeletely. But, if boundary conditions were not satisfied, the values of activation energy contained several errors. In this work, to obtain the activation energy related to charged particles, the peak temperature Tp and the slope of tangential line on any coordinates of Arrhenius plot are applied. The calculation process can be denied with by computer, and the result of observation shows that the cures of calculation data and simulation data coincide very compeletely.
