In a scanning electron microscope (SEM), outside acoustic noise causes image noise that distorts observations of the specimen being examined. A SEM that is less sensitive to acoustic noise is highly desirable. This paper investigates the image noise problem by addressing the mode shapes of the base plate and the transmission path of the acoustic noise and vibration. By arranging the position of the rib, a new SEM base plate was developed that had twisting as the 1st and 2nd modes. In those two twisting modes, vibration nodes existed near the center of the base plate where the specimen chamber is placed. Less vibration was transmitted to the chamber and to the specimen by the twisting modes compared to bending ones, which are the 2nd and 3rd modes for a rectangular plain base plate. An SEM with the developed base plate installed exhibited a significant reduction of image noise when exposed to acoustic noises below 250 Hz.

This study contains the CFD analysis to predict the flow in engine room and utilize the results as a reference for arranging smoke detectors. FLUENT, a commercial CFD code is adopted because of its good application experience in DSME(Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co.. Ltd.). The target is the engine room of VLCC. which was delivered in 2002. The model for analysis includes main structure elements, ventilation ducts, main engine and other big size equipment. From the analysis results, the internal flow pattern can be observed and some guidelines for the position of smoke detectors cane be presented.

This study surveys the herb industry, which plays an important role in the economy activation of the advanced countries, and by which Choongbuk, as one of local authorities, makes the first attempt in Korea. It describes the direction of the policy and application, came to a conclusion as follows. 1. Choongbuk is arranging a Herb garden as the first step in connection with the exsiting plan, It could be highly rated because there has been no example yet in korea and therefore it could involve risks. 2. The selection of site will be decided by the Do-authorities considering traffic network and accessibility. Therefore Shi and Gun authorities could have a passive and formal attitude for this policy. 3. The size of the herb garden, by modeling Japanese and European herb garden, will be 15000 pyung(4545m), From the point of view it is a start, the herb garden has still tasks to solve, e.g. lack of experience, organizational and technological problems.

Shelter system is applying to weapon systems as usage of performing specific mission with arranging several electronic equipments and operators. Recently the electronic equipments is changing from development products to COTS(Commecial on-the-shelf) for demonstrating high performance at low cost. As internal operators of shelter system conduct several missions for specific or long time in this the present situation, One of the most important element considering the best combat power is internal noise level. Therefore, I desire to analyze the features and foresee muliple noise level with test for conforming whether requirements of design is met or not in this research paper.

Recently, the tendency for young people losing interest in science has accelerated. This tendency is remarkable for not only Japan but also some countries of Asia. It is thought that this tendency was brought from the decrease of the chance to watch the actual manufacturing activities, and the decrease of the real experience which children makes something in their childhood. In order to bring up the capable engineers on such a social background, making a product practice which promotes the understanding of the application of theory for manufacturing products is important in addition to study by the text book. In this study, some practical work materials for the lower grades in the college were developed. Integration of the developed materials and the course of study becomes an effective teaching method of the of subjects on a special field. Arranging this practical work on the learning process makes a high effect of the integrated practical work on the curriculum.

In this paper, we propose a thorough solution for adjusting virtual sound field with different kinds of devices and software in preliminary procedure and late stage of music processing. The basic process of music production includes composing, arranging and recording at pre-production stage as well as sound mixing and mastering at post-production stage. At the initial stage of music creation, it should be checked whether the design of virtual sound field, the choice of the tone and the instrument used in the arrangement match the virtual sound field required for the final work. In later recording, mixing and mastering, elaborate adjustments should be done to the virtual sound field. This study also analyzed how to apply the parameter of the effectors to the design and adjustment of the virtual sound field, making it the source of our creation.

The decrease of summer peak electric load of our country is very important. The government is arranging a lot of support policies and statutes. etc. to decrease of peak electric load. And ice storage system is known as one of the alternatives. The purpose of this study is to collect basic data for operating characteristics to plan the most suitable operation of capsule-type ice storage system. The storaging tank is designed to take charge 40% of total cooling load in building, In operation condition the storage tank took charge 50%. Coefficient Of Performance of daily screw refrigerator is around 4.

About the YinYang, Wang Bing used the twelve shoshickgue to explain the rise and decline of the twelve months in "Essential Questions GinYoGyungJongRon" and "Essential Questions Mekhae". And he used the principal of "when an object goes to extremes it reverses" to explain "shao fire", "invigorating fire" which shows an example of a good application of the theory of yinyang in "the Book of Changes" to "The Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon". Explanation of the five phases usually follows the explanation of the "Sangsu Hongbum" but when arranging the five live stocks to the five phases, he refered to the "SulGueJun" and made annotations.

We newly designed and manufactured a new arranging system for a three-dimensional artificial crystal of monosized micro particles. In this system, a robotic micro-manipulator accurately locates the spherical particle onto the lattice point, and subsequently fiber lasers micro-weld the contact points between the neighboring particles. Actually, one- and two-dimensional arrays were constructed using monosized tin particles with the diameter of 400 m. Moreover, due to optimization of the process parameters, we successfully constructed the artificial crystals of simple cubic and diamond structures. In particular, the diamond structure which can represent a large photonic band gap is expected to progress toward a practical photonic crystal device.

A system for evaluating streamflow data (KORSAS) was developed, and is operated using PC based Windows to help the hydrological observation practitioner's working in Korea Water Resources Corporation (KOWACO). This system has modules including; DB access and data management, flow measurement arranging, H-Q relation deriving, area rainfall calculating, flow calculating, and flow evaluating modules. Evaluation of observed streamflow is accomplished through the following processes. First, hourly streamflow data is calculated from water level data stored in a DB server by applying the rating relationship between water level and flow rates derived from the past flow measurements. Second, hourly areal rainfal data is calculated from point data stored in the DB server by applying Thiessen networks. Third, hydrographs are displayed on a daily, weekly, monthly, or seasonal duration basis, and are compared to hydrographs of reservoir inflow, hydrographs at water level observation stations and hydrographs derived from simulated results using models.
