Design and Implementation of User Interface of the Around View system for Drivers' Convenience (운전자의 편의성을 위한 어라운드 뷰 시스템 사용자 인터페이스 설계 및 구현)

  • 최근 자동차의 수요의 증가로 인해 사용자의 편의 및 안전에 대한 요구와 의존도가 증가함에 따라 운전자를 위한 보조 시스템이 구축되고 있다. 현재 운전자를 위한 보조 시스템으로 AVM(Around View Monitoring) 기술이 개발 되었다. 본 논문에서는 운전자가 차량외부의 상황을 실시간으로 인식할 수 있게 하는 AVM(Around View Monitoring) 기술을 조금 더 실용적이고 편의성 있게 사용할 수 있도록 하는 사용자 인터페이스를 제안한다. 이를 위해 영상이 보이는 화면에 다양한 버튼들을 구현하였으며, 화면상에 보이는 버튼에 따라서 4채널 영상과 4채널 영상을 하나로 정합되어 보여주는 영상 그리고 원본영상과 왜곡영상을 따로 보여주는 다양한 인터페이스를 버튼 식으로 구현하여 운전자가 원하는 영상을 상황에 맞게 제공한다.

  • Rear view cameras which help to park or to drive backward has been distributed through after-market, but it is inconvenient because they do not provide views of left, right and front sides. Around view monitoring(AVM) systems which can monitor around vehicle at a glance have been developed and equipped by vehicle vendor but systematic studies on these systems is lack. While the AVM system which equipped on Infiniti cars of Nissan is adequate to monitor around vehicle at a glance, it has disadvantages that additional cabling because of using analog cables is required and image quality is lowered due to EMI/EMC intervention. The around view monitoring system implemented in this paper has advantages that there are no EMI/EMC problems because of using optical network and that cabling is simple because of using plug-and-play ways. Additionally, an advantage of MOST150 network is that camera nodes and display node can be easily installed in the form of plug-and-play.

  • Despite the improvement of productivity and cost, the operating of such equipments yet has been recognized as a 3D business which is a low wage and poor working environment business field. Accordingly, the number of such operators has been decreasing by time. Especially, construction equipment demands higher controlling skills and occasionally involved in critical accidents. Therefore, this study aims to suggest a conceptual design for an construction equipment Around View Monitoring system that visually assists the operator for more efficient operating. It is expected that the application of such technology for a construction equipment highly improves the productivity and work quality, moreover, prevents disastrous accidents that occur to labors.

  • This paper describes the Around View Monitoring (AVM) system for hydraulic excavators that prevents the safety accidents caused by blind spots and increases the operational efficiency. To verify the developed system, experiments were conducted with its prototype. The experimental results demonstrate its applicability in the field with the following values: 7m of a visual range, 15fps of image refresh rate, 300ms of working information data reception rate, and 300ms of surface condition data reception rate.

  • Around-View, the image processing device which increases the comfort of drivers is sold in the market. This system prevents accidents in advance while driving or parking. The accidents are caused with their inexperienced driving or bad visibility. It is developed for driving convenience. However, it dosen't spread to the driver widely due to the problem of the high installation costs and complex installation process. First, expensive equipment second, difficult development environment and third, inconvenient installation procedure. So the drivers don't have many opportunities to use this system and dare to develop this system. I think if one of the problems can be solved, users might be able to access this system at low cost. In this paper, the AVM(Around-View Monitoring) minimizes two of them. Expensive equipment, inconvenient installation. The costly problems were solved by using low-cost USB device and rear cameras. In view of inconvenient installation process, the new system was designed to make it easy for people to install it. Through this, it can ease the burden of consumers.

  • Driver's view has blind spot of automobile surroundings due to physical components of automobile architecture. Obstacles on blind spot are the cause of car destruction and car accidents. Cars which produced in recent have obstacle detection sensors and rear view cameras which provide information of obstacles on the blind sopt, and have also AVM(Around View Monitoring) which provides automobile surroundings for driver's safe driving. During a low-speed travel while parking or moving in a narrow street, a driver get help for safe driving by taking information of automobile surroundings using the above-mentioned devices. In this paper, we present a design and implementation of a 4-sided monitoring (4SM) system, which helps a driver see an integrated view of a vehicle's perimeter at a glance, using a car PC connected to four cameras installed on the front, rear, left, and right sides.

  • In recent, the researches on driver assistance systems have been actively performed with development of vehicle industry. AVM(Around View Monitoring) Systems, a part of these systems, have been researching and developing. Existing AVM systems have been developed in the forms of embedded systems or a SoC (System on Chip) to provide view around vehicle in real time. However, if Car PC is equipped with in vehicle, AVM can be developed using only software without additional cost. In this study, we implemented AVM system which provides location information by adding the informations such as latitude, longitude and speed to functions of "Car PC" based AVM system. If storing function is added to the AVM system implemented in this study which provides location information, the system with storing function can be used as AVM black box system.

  • 어라운드 뷰 시스템은 승용차의 앞뒤와 좌우 사이드 미러 하단에 1개씩 4개의 카메라를 이용해, 내비게이션 화면에 마치 차를 위에서 찍은 듯한 화면을 만들어 주는 기술이다. 최근 차량의 증가로 인해 사용자의 편의 및 안전에 대한 요구와 의존도가 증가함에 따라 운전자를 위한 보조 시스템이 구축되고 있다. 현재 운전자를 위한 보조 시스템으로 AVM(Around View Monitoring)기술이 개발되었다. 본 논문에서는 현재 시중에 제공되고 있는 다양한 어라운드 뷰 시스템들마다 인터페이스가 다르기 때문에 이를 어떻게 적용되었는지를 각 시스템들마다 비교분석하여 장점들을 알아보고, 이를 통해 각 인터페이스들의 장점들을 종합하여 효율적인 인터페이스를 제시하였다.

  • Currently, car black box, and CCTV products, such as image processing are prevalent on the market giving convenience to users.In particular, the black box of the driver driving a vehicle accident that occurred at the time to help identify the cause of the accident is gaining. Black box, the front or rear of the vehicle can check the image only. Because of the angle of view of the driver's vision or the black box can not determine a non-scene. In order to solve this problem by a more advanced system, the black box AVM (Around-View Monitoring) systems have been developed. AVM system to the vehicle's top-view images obtained before and after, left and right of the image, ie, $360^{\circ}$ image of the vehicle can be secured. AVM system must be installed on the vehicle, a desktop that you can acquire images Cling conditions. In this paper, we propose an Android-based tablet using the AVM system of the vehicle can achieve a $360^{\circ}$ image you want to design the system.

  • This paper proposes vision sensors and deep learning-based around view monitoring system for ship berthing. Ship berthing to the port requires precise relative position and relative speed information between the mooring facility and the ship. For ships of Handysize or higher, the vesselships must be docked with the help of pilots and tugboats. In the case of ships handling dangerous cargo, tug boats push the ship and dock it in the port, using the distance and velocity information receiving from the berthing aid system (BAS). However, the existing BAS is very expensive and there is a limit on the size of the vessel that can be measured. Also, there is a limitation that it is difficult to measure distance and speed when there are obstacles near the port. This paper proposes a relative distance and speed estimation system that can be used as a ship berthing assist system. The proposed system is verified by comparing the performance with the existing laser-based distance and speed measurement system through the field tests at the actual port.
