Extension Properties of Frozen Hard Wheat Flour Doughs Mixed with Ascorbic Acid and Gluten Hydrolysate

  • The textural properties of doughs mixed with L-ascorbic acid (AA), trypsin hydrolyzed gluten peptide (THGP), and a mixture of AA-THGP were investigated using texture analyzer under the fermentation of the full formula and the freezing process. The full formula dough (FFD) required a shorter mixing time than the flour and water formula dough (FWD). The maximum resistance (Rmax) values of both the unfrozen and frozen doughs were lower for the FFD. The effects of AA and THGP additions were not significant (p<0.01) in FFD, however, they were significant in FWD. The freezing effect was significant (p<0.0001) for FFD, indicating that yeast fermented dough was much more sensitive to damage from freezing, which subsequently affected dough strength. Additions of AA (p=0.0026) and THGP (p=0.0097) had a significant effect on the extensibility (E-value) of unfrozen FWD, where THGP increased and AA decreased the E-value. However, freezing did not significantly effect the extensibilities of FWD (p=0.64) or FFD (p=0.21). The area of FFD was lower than the area of FWD for both the unfrozen and frozen doughs. However, the frozen dough mixed with THGP alone had the largest area overall. The addition of additives did not result in significantly different (p<0.01) areas under the curve, except in the frozen FFD. Freezing caused a statistically significant difference in the area of FWD (p=0.0045).

공간예측모형에 기반한 산사태 취약성 지도 작성과 품질 평가 (Mapping Landslide Susceptibility Based on Spatial Prediction Modeling Approach and Quality Assessment)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the quality of landslide susceptibility in a landslide-prone area (Jinbu-myeon, Gangwon-do, South Korea) by spatial prediction modeling approach and compare the results obtained. For this goal, a landslide inventory map was prepared mainly based on past historical information and aerial photographs analysis (Daum Map, 2008), as well as some field observation. Altogether, 550 landslides were counted at the whole study area. Among them, 182 landslides are debris flow and each group of landslides was constructed in the inventory map separately. Then, the landslide inventory was randomly selected through Excel; 50% landslide was used for model analysis and the remaining 50% was used for validation purpose. Total 12 contributing factors, such as slope, aspect, curvature, topographic wetness index (TWI), elevation, forest type, forest timber diameter, forest crown density, geology, landuse, soil depth, and soil drainage were used in the analysis. Moreover, to find out the co-relation between landslide causative factors and incidents landslide, pixels were divided into several classes and frequency ratio for individual class was extracted. Eventually, six landslide susceptibility maps were constructed using the Bayesian Predictive Discriminant (BPD), Empirical Likelihood Ratio (ELR), and Linear Regression Method (LRM) models based on different category dada. Finally, in the cross validation process, landslide susceptibility map was plotted with a receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve and calculated the area under the curve (AUC) and tried to extract success rate curve. The result showed that Bayesian, likelihood and linear models were of 85.52%, 85.23%, and 83.49% accuracy respectively for total data. Subsequently, in the category of debris flow landslide, results are little better compare with total data and its contained 86.33%, 85.53% and 84.17% accuracy. It means all three models were reasonable methods for landslide susceptibility analysis. The models have proved to produce reliable predictions for regional spatial planning or land-use planning.

Effects of gut microbiota on the pharmacokinetics of protopanaxadiol ginsenosides Rd, Rg3, F2, and compound K in healthy volunteers treated orally with red ginseng

  • Background: It is well recognized that gut microbiota is involved in the biotransformation of ginsenosides by converting the polar ginsenosides to nonpolar bioactive ginsenosides. However, the roles of the gut microbiota on the pharmacokinetics of ginsenosides in humans have not yet been fully elucidated. Methods: Red ginseng (RG) or fermented red ginseng was orally administered to 34 healthy Korean volunteers, and the serum concentrations of the ginsenosides were determined using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. In addition, the fecal ginsenoside Rd- and compound K (CK)eforming activities were measured. Then, the correlations between the pharmacokinetic profiles of the ginsenosides and the fecal ginsenoside-metabolizing activities were investigated. Results: For the RG group, the area under the serum concentratione-time curve values of ginsenosides Rd, F2, Rg3, and CK were 8.20 ± 11.95 ng·h/mL, 4.54 ± 3.70 ng·h/mL, 36.40 ± 19.68 ng·h/mL, and 40.30 ± 29.83 ng·h/mL, respectively. For the fermented red ginseng group, the the area under curve from zero to infinity (AUC) values of ginsenosides Rd, F2, Rg3, and CK were 187.90 ± 95.87 ng·h/mL, 30.24 ± 41.87 ng·h/mL, 28.68 ± 14.27 ng·h/mL, and 137.01 ± 96.16 ng·h/mL, respectively. The fecal CK-forming activities of the healthy volunteers were generally proportional to their ginsenoside Rd-eforming activities. The area under the serum concentration-time curve value of CK exhibited an obvious positive correlation (r = 0.566, p < 0.01) with the fecal CK-forming activity. Conclusion: The gut microbiota may play an important role in the bioavailability of the nonpolar RG ginsenosides by affecting the biotransformation of the ginsenosides.

두경부 감염 환자에서 혈청 내 C-Reactive Protein의 변화 (THE CHANGES OF SERUM C-REACTIVE PROTEIN IN THE HEAD AND NECK INFECTION)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 두경부 감염 환자에서 적혈구침강속도(ESR), 백혈구와 비교해 혈장 내 C-Reactive Protein(CRP)이 가지는 진단과 경과관찰에서의 기여도를 아는 데 있다. 본 연구를 위해 31명의 감염환자를 실험군으로, 32명의 악교정 수술 환자를 대조군으로 설정하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 실험군에서의 C-Reactive Protein(CRP)은 대조군의 CRP에 비해 더 높은 수치를 나타내며 감염이 지속되었던 증례를 제외하고는 지속적으로 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다(P<0.001). 2. ESR은 실험군과 대조군에서 모두 일정한 경향이 없었다. 3. 각 변수간의 상관관계는 CRP와 백혈구가 상관계수 0.664로 가장 높은 양의 상관관계를 나타내었다(r=0.664, P<0.01). 4. 설정된 ROC curve에서 분류기준값(cut-off value)의 변화에 따라 CRP 곡선의 증가가 빠르게 나타나고 측정된 곡선의 아래 면적(AUC: Area Under the Curve)이 0.744로 높은 값을 나타내어 예측의 정확도가 높다고 판단된다. 5. 실험군에서 회복일(recovery day)에 각 변수의 민감도는 CRP가 83%, ESR이 17%, 백혈구가 71%로 나타났다. 이상의 연구로 미루어 볼 때, 두경부 영역에서 CRP는 감염을 진단하고 경과관찰을 하는데 있어 ESR이나 Leukocyte에 비해 더 민감하게 환자를 감시(monitoring)할 수 있는 유용한 검사라고 사료된다.

전립선암쥐모형의 신생혈관생성의 평가를 위해 시행된 역동적 조영 증강 초음파에서 얻은 변수간의 상관성연구 (The Correlations of Parameters Using Contrast Enhanced Ultrasonography in the Evaluation of Prostate Cancer Angiogenesis)

  • 목적: 전립선암 (PC-3, LNCaP)의 이종이식쥐 모델에서 초음파 조영제를 이용하여 측정한 시간-신호강도 곡선을 통해 얻은 역학적 변수를 조직병리적 변수와 비교하고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법: 20마리의 누드마우스에 인간전립선암세포(15 PC-3, 5 LNCaP)를 다리에 주입하여 이종이식쥐 모델을 제작하였다. 이후 $500{\mu}L$의 2세대 초음파 조영제인 Sonovue를 후안와정맥을 통해 주입하였다. 관심영역은 종양의 전체를 포함할 수 있게 그린 후, 시간-신호강도 곡선을 얻고 이를 감마변량함수에 적합시켰다. 최고신호강도(A), 최고도달시간 (Tp), 최고유입률 (washin), 최고 유출률 (washout), 50초까지의 곡선하면적 ($AUC_{50}$), 유입기면적 ($AUC_{in}$), 유출기면적 ($AUC_{out}$) 등을 감마변량함수에서 도출하였다. VEGF와 CD31에 대한 면역조직화학염색법을 시행하였고, 종양부피, 시야당 VEGF 면적백분율, CD31 양성 미세혈관수 (MVD) 등을 계산한 후 이를 시간신호강도에서 얻은 역학적 변수와 상관성을 조사하였다. 결과: PC-3 와 LNCaP간 동적 및 조직병리학적 변수의 통계적 차이는 없었다. MVD는 A (r=0.625, p=0.003), washin (r=0.462, p=0.040), AUC (r=0.604, p=0.005), $AUC_{out}$ (r=0.587, p=0.007) 과 유의한 상관관계를 보였다. 또한 종양부피와 $AUC_{50}$ (r=0.481, p=0.032), washin(r=0.662, p=0.001), $AUC_{out}$ (r=0.547, p=0.012) 도 유의한 양의 상관관계를 보였으며, washout은 MVD (r=-0.454, p=0.044) 및 종양부피 (r=-0.464, p=0.039)에 모두 음의 상관관계를 보였다. 그러나 시야당 VEGF 면적백분율은 역학적 변수와 유의한 상관관계를 보이지 않았다. 결론: MVD는 다수의 역학적 변수와 상관관계를 보였다. 초음파 조영제를 이용한 초음파는 전립선암 동물모델에서 종양의 혈관성을 예측할 수 있는 가능성을 보였다.

퍼지관계 기법과 인공신경망 기법을 이용한 포항지역의 산사태 취약성 예측 기법 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study of Fuzzy Relationship and ANN for Landslide Susceptibility in Pohang Area)

  • 산사태는 지형, 지질, 임상, 토양 등과 같은 다양한 요인들이 복합적으로 작용하여 발생한다. 따라서 산사태 발생위치와 산사태 유발 요인 사이의 상관관계를 파악할 수 있는 다양한 분석 기법이 사용되고 있으며 본 연구에서는 산사태 위험지역을 정량적으로 예측할 수 있는 효과적인 기법을 제안하고자 퍼지관계 기법과 인공신경망 기법을 이용하여 포항지역의 산사태 취약성을 분석하였다. 취약성 분석을 위해 먼저 산사태 위치를 파악하여 현황도를 작성하였으며, 산사태 발생과 관련 있는 11개의 요인들에 대한 공간 데이터베이스를 구축하였다. 퍼지관계 기법에서는 cosine amplitude method를 이용해 각 요인 별 퍼지 소속 함수 값을 획득하고 퍼지관계 함수 연산을 이용하여 취약성도를 작성하였다. 인공신경망 기법에서는 오류 역전파 알고리즘을 이용하여 산사태와 관련 요인들 간의 상대적 가중치를 결정하고 취약성도를 작성하였다. 두 기법으로 도출된 산사태 취약성도의 ROC(Receiver Operating Characteristic)와 AUC(Area Under the Curve)를 통한 검증 결과는 82.18%와 87.4%로 나타났다. 퍼지 관계 및 인공신경망 기법 모두 높은 예측 정확도를 보여 취약성 분석 기법으로서의 적용 가능성이 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 한편 본 연구지역의 경우 인공신경망 기법이 퍼지관계 기법에 비해 좀 더 나은 예측 정확도를 보이는 것으로 분석되었다.

Nalidixic Acid와 Probenecid의 약물 상호 작용 (Drug Interaction of Nalidixic Acid and Probenecid in Rabbits)

  • The interaction between nalidixic acid and probenecid was studied pharmacokinetically in rabbits. The blood level and the area under the concentration curve(AUC) of nalidixic acid administered orally in dose of 100mg/kg was elevated by the coadministration of probenecid. Probenecid inhibited both the urinary excretion and the biliary excretion of nalidixic acid. Therefore, biological half-life of nalidixic acid was prolonged by the coadministrarion of probenecid. It was considered that the coadmini-stration of probenecid is more desirable than the single administration of nalidixic acid for the therapeutic effect.

Prediction of Fracture Energy of Concrete

  • A method to determine the fracture energy of concrete is investigated. The fracture energy may be calculated from the area under the complete load-deflection curve which can be obtained from a stable three-point bend test. Several series of concrete beams have been tested. The Present experimental study indicates that the fracture energy decreases as the initial notch-to-beam depth ratio increases Some problems to be observed to employ the three-point bend method are discussed. The appropriate ratio of initial notch-to-beam depth to determine the fracture energy of concrete is found to be 0.5. It is also found that the influence of the self-weight of a beam to the fracture energy is very small A simple and accurate formula to predict the fracture energy of concrete is proposed.

The Effect of Quercetin on the Pharmacokinetics of Paclitaxel in Rats

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of quercetin(2.0, 10, 20 mg/kg; combined or pretreated) on the pharmacokinetic parameters and the bioavailability of paclitaxel(50mg/kg) orally in rats. The plasma concentration of paclitaxel pretreated with quercetin(pretreated group) were increased significantly (p<0.01) compared to that of control, but those of paclitaxel combined with quercetin(combined group) were not affected. Area under the plasma concentration-time curve (AUC) of paclitaxel pretreated with quercetin was significantly (p<0.01) higher than that of control. (omitted)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of quercetin on the bioavailability of paclitaxel orally coadministered in rats Paclitaxel is reported to be metabolized by cytochrome p-450(CYP3.A,)in both the liver and epithelial cells of small intestine and also absorption of paclitaxel is inhibited by p-glycoprotein efflux Pump in the intestinal mucosa. This resulted in poor orall bioavailability of paclitaxel. Area under the plasma concentration-time curve (AUC) of paclitaxel in combination with quercetin were significantly (p< 0.01) higher than those of control. (omitted)
