This paper introduces a high-speed Reed-Solomon(RS) decoder, which reduces the hardware complexity, and presents an RS decoder based FEC architecture which is used for 40Gb/s optical communication systems. We introduce new pipelined degree computationless modified Euclidean(pDCME) algorithm architecture, which has high throughput and low hardware complexity. The proposed 16 channel RS FEC architecture has two 8 channel RS FEC architectures, which has 8 syndrome computation block and shared single KES block. It can reduce the hardware complexity about 30% compared to the conventional 16 channel 3-parallel FEC architecture, which is 4 syndrome computation block and shared single KES block. The proposed RS FEC architecture has been designed and implemented with the $0.18-{\mu}m$ CMOS technology in a supply voltage of 1.8 V. The result show that total number of gate is 250K and it has a data processing rate of 5.1Gb/s at a clock frequency of 400MHz. The proposed area-efficient architecture can be readily applied to the next generation FEC devices for high-speed optical communications as well as wireless communications.
From the beginning of 1990s , also in the shipping industry, especially liner shipping industry competition has been more intensive and difference of the service quality among shipping companies has been learned . On the other hand, a shipping company has some limitations to do its international mission for itself just by broadening service area. For this reason, the necessity for the global strategi alliance among the shipping companies, which is orginally aimed at sharing of facilities and organixation, has been developed. Through strategic alliance, liner shipping companies do not need to input the additional capitals to increase the material assets such as vessel capacity and spread the risk by the enlargement of the market. Also, they can secure the competitive edge through efficient utilizaton of assets. The purpose of strategic alliance of Hanjin Shipping Ltd., can be summarized as follows ; broadening of service area, cost reduction through vessel sharing, realization of rationalized shipping service by terminal and equipment or facilities sharing. Liner strategic alliances are agreement among liner companies to pol their equipment , andterminals for joint operations and services in which each alliance partner continues to serve its market using jointly operated or used inland feeders,inland terminals, port terminals, and mainline fleets of ship as well as joint pools of containers and equipment. Strategic alliances are generally more formal agreements than consortia and impose longer term and far reaching obligation on their members. It also acts as one in developing and advancing the strategic aims of the alliance members. The most important objective for liner strategic alliances is cost reduction and improvement in capital asset utilization. Main aims of strategic alliance drawn in this paper, can be enumerated follows : 1. improvements in service frequency and quality : 2. improvements in vessel and equipment utilization and thereby reductions in fixed and variable cost ; 3. improvements in market shares and high value cargo booking ; 4. reductions in intermodal storage and port terminal throughput costs ; 5. improvements in negotiating powers with ports and feeder transport providers ; 6. reduction in financial and other fixed costs such as insurance; 7. coordination and integration of MIS and EDI systems and service for greater efficiency and market penetration ; and, 8. improvements in logistic chain management and economic of scale by equipment depot, terminal, and vessel sharing.
Purpose : The aim of this study is to develope the Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy(MRS) data processing S/W which plays an important role as a diagnostic tool in clinical field. Materials and methods : Post-processing software of MRS based on graphical user interface(GUI) under windows operating system of personal computer(PC) was developed using MATLAB(Mathwork, U.S.A.). This tool contains many functions to increase the quality of spectrum data such as DC correction, zero filling, line broadening, Gauss-Lorentzian filtering, phase correction, etc. And we obtained the normal human brain $^1H$ MRS data from parietal white matter, basal ganglia and occipital grey matter region using 1.5T Gyroscan ACS-NT R6 (philips, Amsterdam, Netherland) MRS package. The analysis of the MRS peaks were performed by obtaining the ratio of peak area. Results : The peak ratios of NAA/Cr, Cho/Cr, MI/Cr for the different MRS machines have a little different values. But these peak ratios were not significantly different between different echo time MRS peak ratios in the same machine (p<0.05). Conclusion : MRS post-processing S/W based on GUI using PC was developed and applied to the analysis of normal human brain $^1H$ MRS. This independent MRS processing job increases the performance and throughput of patient scan of main console. Finally, we suggest that the database for normal in-yivo human MRS data should be obtained before clinical applications.
Today freeway is thought to be a very important transportation facility carrying tremendous traffic flow as the main corridor within the area of between the areas. However freeway is experiencing severe congestion and accidents by increased entrance ramp flow especially at peak time period. Ramp meters on the freeway entrance ramps that supply traffic to the freeway in a measured or appropriately regulated amount are needed for alleviating freeway congestion. Because ramp meters can be operated to discharge traffic at a measured or regulated rate thus maintaining more uniform speed on the mainline section maximizing the throughput to the freeway within the capacity of a downstream bottleneck and reducing the congestion related accidents. Thus the objectives in this study were to analyze the traffic characteristics on the freeway I-94 with ramp metering system before/after ITS technology in Detroit (Michigan) area compare shifts of the traffic characteristics on the freeway I-94 before/after ITS technology and finally suggest a better ramp metering strategy for the freeway system The following results were obtained: i)Flow occupancies and speeds on the mainline merge section of freeway were shown to be a big difference depending on the peak periods areas and directions based on the distribution of traffic flow characteristics on the freeway. ii)Reduced speed was shown to be more than 5 mph and ramp flow was also shown to be more than 240 vph at peak periods if there was the ramp metering system constructed on the freeway. iii)Ramp metering system was shown to be optimally operated on the freeway if ramp flow could be maximized within the range of over 900 vph and reduced occupancy could be also maximized by no more than 2 percent at peak periods. iv)The average flows on the freeway after the ITS technology were shown to be a decrease of over 20% depending on the peak periods areas and directions when compared with those flow on the freeway before the ITS technology. over 20% depending on the peak periods areas and directions when compared with those speeds on the freeway before the ITS technology. vi)The average metering rates on the freeway after the ITS technology were shown to be an increase of over 10% depending on the peak periods areas and directions when compared with those metering rates on the freeway before the ITS technology.

Recently, M2M (Machine to Machine) communication is possible the development of MTC (Machine Type Communication) devices becomes active. MCT devices in the form of home appliances have a low power consumption, low cost, short-range wireless communication in wireless home network. For purpose, MTC devices based on IEEE 802.15.4/Zigbee are composed in the form of cluster-tree topology, which consists of one PAN (Personal Area Network), one or other router and end of nodes. It happens that transmission delay, packet drop, and lacking data resulted from collision originated by a competition for allocating channels among MTC devices that greatly increased. At last performance of entire network can be degradated. This paper proposes that the beacon frame-based grouping algorithm using multiple channels in a MTC devices in the presence of wireless home network interference. The proposed algorithm decreases the transmission delay, dropped packet and throughput is more increase, so the proposal algorithm is more efficient than the IEEE 802.15.4/ Zigbee standard.

Since tactical robots are going to be grown and tactical data communications will be more network-centric, the reliability of wireless tactical data networks is going to be very important in the future. However, the connectivity of such wireless tactical data networks can be extremely uncertain in practical circumstances. In this paper, we propose a searching technique to find out the weak boundary area of the network connectivity using a small UAV(unmanned aerial vehicle) which has a simple polling access function to wireless nodes on the ground in wireless tactical data networks. The UA V calculates the network topology of the wireless tactical data networks and coverts it to the Lapalcian matrix. In the proposed algorithm, we iteratively search the eigenvalues and find a minimum cut in the network resulting in finding the weak boundary of the connectivity for the wireless tactical data networks. If a UAV works as a relay nodes for the weak area, we evaluate that the throughput performance of the proposed algorithm outperforms star connection method and MST(minimum Spanning Tree) connection method. The proposed algorithm can be applied for recovering the connectivity of wireless tactical data networks.
Single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) are the DNA sequences difference among the same species in the level of nucleic acids and are widely applied in clinical fields such as personalized medicine. The routine and labor-intensive methods to determine SNPs are performing the sequence homology search by using BLAST and navigating the trace of chromatogram files generated by high-throughput DNA sequencing machine by using Chromas program. In this paper, we developed SNPchaser, a web-based program for detecting SNPs substitution and heterozygosity existence, to improve the labor-intensive method in determining SNPs. SNPchaser performed sequence alignment and visualized the suspected region of SNPs by using user's reference sequence, AB1 files, and positional information of SNPs. It simultaneously provided the results of sequences alignment and chromatogram of relevant area of SNPs to user. In addition, SNPchaser can easily determine existence of heterozygosity in SNPs area. SNPchaser is freely accessible via the web site http://www.bioinformatics.ac.kr/SNPchaser and the source codes are available for academic research purpose.

As functions that support virtualization on their own in hardware are developed, user applications having various workloads are operating efficiently in the virtualization system. SR-IOV is a virtualization support function that takes direct access to PCI devices, thus giving a high I/O performance by minimizing the need for hypervisor or operating system interventions. With SR-IOV, network I/O acceleration can be realized in virtualization systems that have relatively long I/O paths compared to bare-metal systems and frequent context switches between the user area and kernel area. To take performance advantages of SR-IOV, network resource management policies that can derive optimal network performance when SR-IOV is applied to an instance such as a virtual machine(VM) or container are being actively studied.This paper evaluates and analyzes the network performance of SR-IOV implementing I/O acceleration is compared with Virtio in terms of 1) network delay, 2) network throughput, 3) network fairness, 4) performance interference, and 5) multi-network. The contributions of this paper are as follows. First, the network I/O process of Virtio and SR-IOV was clearly explained in the virtualization system, and second, the evaluation results of the network performance of Virtio and SR-IOV were analyzed based on various performance metrics. Third, the system overhead and the possibility of optimization for the SR-IOV network in a virtualization system with high VM density were experimentally confirmed. The experimental results and analysis of the paper are expected to be referenced in the network resource management policy for virtualization systems that operate network-intensive services such as smart factories, connected cars, deep learning inference models, and crowdsourcing.

This study conducted 10 sampling sites survey 4 times to determine the trophic structure and energy flow of marine ecosystems for Uljin marine ranching area, Korean East Sea from March to October 2013. Based on the ecological characteristics of biological species, one used the non-Metric Multidimensional Scaling method based on the similarity of species. A total of 19 classified species groups formed categories including, top predators, seabirds, large pelagic fishes, small pelagic fishes, rockfishes, pleuronectiformes, benthic fishes, semi-benthic fishes, cephalopods, benthic feeders, epifauna, bivalves, abalone, Cnidaria, zooplankton, benthic algae, microalgae, phytoplankton and detritus. The biomass, production/biomass, consumption/biomass, diet composition data of each species groups to input data used in Ecopath mode estimated the trophic structure and energy flow of marine ecosystems in the Uljin marine ranching area. One estimated each species groups on the trophic level from 1 to 5.687. The sum of all consumption was estimated at $229.7t/km^2/yr$ and the sum of all exports was as estimated $3,432.4t/km^2/yr$. Total system throughput was at $6,796.2t/km^2/yr$, and the sum of all production was estimated at $3,613.1t/km^2/yr$. Net system production according to these results was estimated at $3,490.3t/km^2/yr$ and total biomass (excluding detritus) was estimated at $167.3t/km^2/yr$ in the Uljin marine ranching area.

A systolic array formed by interconnecting a set of identical data-processing cells in a uniform manner is a combination of an algorithm and a circuit that implements it, and is closely related conceptually to arithmetic pipeline. High-performance computation on a large array of cells has been an important feature of systolic array. To achieve even higher degree of concurrency, it is desirable to make cells of systolic array themselves systolic array as well. The structure of systolic array with its cells consisting of another systolic array is to be called super-systolic array. This paper proposes a scalable bit-level super-systolic amy which can be adopted in the VLSI design including regular interconnection and functional primitives that are typical for a systolic architecture. This architecture is focused on highly regular computational structures that avoids the need for a large number of global interconnection required in general VLSI implementation. A bit-level super-systolic FIR filter is selected as an example of bit-level super-systolic array. The derived bit-level super-systolic FIR filter has been modeled and simulated in RT level using VHDL, then synthesized using Synopsys Design Compiler based on Hynix $0.35{\mu}m$ cell library. Compared conventional word-level systolic array, the newly proposed bit-level super-systolic arrays are efficient when it comes to area and throughput.
