  • This study focused on the architectural plan of the pension to meet modem people's desire for rural life, and the result of the study is as follows: First, the architectural plan for the characteristic of the location must apply the various architectural types considering the suburbs, tour and culture town, and community for the location improvement. Second, the architectural plan for the characteristic of the plot requires the encircled space and courtyard between buildings, the private gardens for the rooms, and the consideration of the surrounding environment. Above all, the plan for the subsidiary facilities is the most important. Third, the architectural plan for the characteristic of the plan requires the close connection with the outside, the wide opened view from the guest room, and the individual entrances for the guest rooms. Fourth, the architectural plan for the characteristic of the decorative design must consider the mass separation plan, the application of the facade design factors and eco-friendly environment materials, the night illumination plan, and the space program for the scenic view.

  • M&S (Modeling & Simulation) based design is widely accepted for the development of the future weapon system with better performance in a cheaper and faster way. Integrated simulation environment (ISE) is needed for the M&S based design. On the ISE, system engineers can not only verify design options but also validate system requirements. In this paper, we propose architectural models of the integrated simulation environment (ISE) which incorporates mission effectiveness M&S (Modeling & Simulation), system performance M&S, the optimization model of integrated performances, digital mockup and virtual prototype. The ISE architectural models may be used to implement the ISE for the development of the future unmanned ground combat vehicle.

  • It is not an overstatement to say the factory are the number one cause in creating environmental load. However, only a few studies have been done upto this date on environmentally friendly factory. Thus, This study is to present the characteristics of environmentally friendly factory. A survey of current literatures and cases show the characteristics of environmentally friendly factories and buildings and environment assessment method and plan. To better measure the environmentally friendly qualities as written in literature across the globe, classification system was constructed. The classification system was made and important factors were found based on the precedent paper on environmentally friendly building plan and environment assessment method at building and cases and abroad in the literature review. The classification used 4 different sectors : Land & Transportation, Architectural Planning Technique, Environment & Equipment, Energy & Material. Within these 4 sectors 33 discrete factors are applied to the factory according to literature and case review and specialist advice.

  • Recently with the demand of well-being is increased, the demand for indoor thermal environment and air quality is increased. According to this circumstance, many people in Korea note the traditional architecture that is made by natural materials, such as a soil, stone and wood. However, few researches regarding the indoor thermal environmental characteristics of the Korean traditional houses is reported. In this study we analyzed the indoor thermal environment for Han-ok through field measurement. Moreover, based on the field measurement results. indoor thermal comfort in Han-ok is analyzed.

  • Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an effective decision-making platform that helps to save project cost and enhance quality of construction. By generating and linking a wide variety of objects data, BIM can be effectively utilized, and it should be ensured that object properties maintain consistency throughout the project period of design, estimates, construction, maintenance and repair. This study examined how to utilize BIM data in a construction project, by linking cost and schedule data in web environment, to better utilize the information and maintain consistency of the BIM information. To do so, the model integrated WBS data and CBS data, linked them with BIM model to realize 5D simulation in web environment. As a result, cost and schedule data could be simultaneously acquired, and object properties-cost, schedule, location-as well. These are expected to contribute to developing a BIM-based automatic data-processing system in web environment.

  • Recently, as a new perspective to view the architecture in relation to global environmental problems, interest in environmental architecture that conforms to the surrounding environment and nature with nature has been expanded as a part of the natural ecosystem, rather than seeing the building as an independent entity. Traditional Korean architecture creates a comfortable indoor environment by appropriately using the natural energy around, ranging from the arrangement of the building and the space composition to the use of detailed materials and to harmonize the artificial architectural environment without harming the natural ecosystem. The purpose of this study is to propose a method to apply the environmental control techniques of traditional buildings to modern buildings. As a research method, the characteristics of Korean traditional buildings according to the climatic characteristics of Korea were recognized through existing literature data and when applied to methods of traditional buildings, ventilation systems, control through eaves, and humidity control using Hanji the effect of energy load control on traditional buildings was analyzed and identified through existing literature. After analyzing the problems of modern architecture, we analyzed the effect of the environmental control system of traditional architecture on modern architecture. Simulation results show that the application of the environmental control system of traditional buildings to modern buildings reduces the cooling and heating load of modern buildings and has an effect on humidity control. This study suggests that quantitative energy saving will be possible if the environmental control techniques of traditional buildings are appropriately applied to modern buildings.

  • Purpose: The research is focused on the 25th King Cheoljong's mother's parents' traditional House in Ganghwa-do, for finding out how the surrounding natural environment was considered with Pungsu, a traditional ecological architectural science in case of site selection and architectural planning by the relative of royal family of Joseon period. Method: The study is processed as follows. Human Environment of the region where the house is located, is analyzed in chapter 2. Feature of mountain expressed as dragon and four important hills of the house are analyzed in chapter 3, Highly regarded factors for site selection by the scholar of the Realist School of Confucianism such as wind environment, the front and back of the Hyunmubong and building orientation are analyzed in chapter 4. Finally Pungsu applied in architectural space is analyzed in chapter 5. Result: The house considered Pungsu to some extent, but it shows the appearance contrary to the Pungsu in a certain part in order to show authority and proud as the house of the relatives of the King. It can be seen that the degree of application of Pungsu may be different depending on the will of the building owner.

  • This study has measured indoor temperature and relative humidity and evaluated it for one year by selecting Chungnam's rural areas for improving indoor environment of rural housing in the circumstance that the environment of housing is poor due to deterioration of rural housing. As a result of its evaluation, the indoor temperature difference by household appeared to be more than $13^{\circ}C$, and it was measured that the indoor temperature was mostly low. A difference of more than 40% in case of relative humidity occurred, so the difference of the indoor environment by household was clear. In case of the thermal comfort zone, the number of households that are distributed to more than 50% of a thermal comfort criterion in the winter was only 3 households, rather than the summer.
