전방십자인대 손상의 진단 (Diagnosis of Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury)

  • Recently, the incidence of anterior cruciate ligament injury is rapidly increasing because many young Korean are actively participating in sports activities including basketball, skiing and soccer. Sometimes acute ACL injuries arc misdiagnosed as sprain because of pain and muscle spasm. An accurate physical examination and careful history taking are very important to diagnose the ACL injuries. Therefore author described the skill of history taking and the technique of physical examination to diagnose ACL injuries. The most sensitive test is the Lachman's test, which is performed with the knee in 200 of flexion, the femur stabilized with full flexed examiner's knee placed behind patient's distal thigh and one hand of examiner, and the proximal tibia grasped with the other. The pivot shift test is a passive motion test that attempts to subluxate the tibia anteriorly, then have it reduce rapidly. The pivot shift test is very sensitive test to diagnose the chronic ACL injuries.

  • In multibody dynamics, differential and algebraic equations which can satisfy both equation of motion and kinematic constraint equation should be solved. To solve this equation, coordinate partitioning method and constraint stabilization method are commonly used. The coordinate partitioning method divides the coordinate into independent and dependent coordinates. The most typical coordinate partitioning method arc LU decomposition, QR decomposition, projection method and SVD(sigular value decomposition).The objective of this research is to find a efficient coordinate partitioning method in flexible multibody systems and a hybrid decomposition algorithm which employs both LU and projection methods is proposed. The accuracy of the solution algorithm is checked with a slider-crank mechanism.

A New Algorithm of Weaving Motion Using Bezier Spline

  • In this paper, we propose a new weaving trajectory algorithm for the arc welding of a articulated manipulator. The algorithm uses the theory of Bezier spline. We make a comparison between the conventional algorithms using Catmull-Rom curve and the new algorithms using Bezier spline. The proposed algorithm has been evaluated based on the MATLAB environment in order to illustrate its good performance. The algorithm has been implemented on to the industrial manipulator of DR6 so as to show its real possibility. Through simulations and real implementations, the proposed algorithm can result in high-speed and flexible weaving trajectory planning and can reduce the processing time because it needs one-half calculation compared to the conventional algorithm using Catmull-Rom curve.

  • In welding, there is much dangerous element. Workers who are exposed to working field of welding may be infected with industrial diseases. To solve these problems, many studies has been carried out. It is a good method to make welding automation in the distance and internet makes it possible. If internet is used, welding can be carried out without the limitation of time and place. On this study, welding by using internet is studied. By using internet, computer which has interface with welding machine is connected to computer in the distance and welding is carried out with the signal of computer in the distance. Basically the connection of computers is made by two program-Server and client windows program-which have functions which are needed for control of XYZ table and welding machine. Through these program, the motion of welding torch which was mounted on XYZ table, the starting and ending of welding is controlled and monitored with a camera. Also, signal-welding current and arc voltage-is measured and displayed.

  • Recent development in large area flat-panel x-ray detector technology enables clinical application of digital tomosyntesis. Unlike conventional motion tomography using x-ray films, flat-panel x-ray detectors provide projection images in digital formats so that tomographic images can be synthesized in a more flexible way. For the digital tomosynthesis, precise movements of the x-ray source and the x-ray detector with respect to a fulcrum point are necessary. In this study, we apply the digital tomosynthesis technique to the flat-panel detector based micro-CT in which the flat-panel detector and the x-ray source rotate together on a circular arc. The experimental results suggest that flat-panel detector based 3D CTs can be used for digital tomosynthesis in the clinical environment.

Comparision of Irregular Quadtree Decomposition with Full-search Block Matching for Synthesizing Intermediate Images

  • To allow multiple viewers to see the correct perspective and to provide a singh1 viewer with motion parallax cues during head movement, more than two views arc needed. Since it is prohibitive to acquire, process, and transmit a continuum of views, it. would preferable to acquire only a minimal set of views and to synthesize intermediate images. This paper presents how to synthesize the intermediate images using irregular quadtree decomposition and compares the proposed methods with full-search block matching. The image at the middle viewpoint between both viewpoints is synthesized and yields a 32.8 ㏈ peak-signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) which is 2.8 ㏈ high and has a running time 30% of that for conventional full-search block matching.

컨피규레이션 공간을 이용한 기구학적 공차 설계 (Kinematic Tolerance Synthesis Using Generalized Configuration Spaces)

  • This paper presents a new framework of kinematic tolerance synthesis and describes the implemented algorithm for planar mechanical systems comprised of higher kinematic pairs. Input to the synthesis algorithm is a parametric model of the mechanical system with allowed parameter ranges (tolerance ranges). The model is specified as the part profiles consisting of line and arc segments and the motion axes along which each part moves. The algorithm analyzes tolerance in generalized configuration space, called contact zones bounding the worst-case variations, and identifies bad system variations. The bad system variations then are removed out of the parameter ranges by adjusting the nominal parameter values if possible and then shrinking the ranges otherwise. This cycle is repeated until no more bad variations we found. I show the effectiveness of the algorithm by case studies on several mechanisms.

  • This study presents a new information model for building a database which is used for the Damage Calculation in a Road network after Seismic outbreak (DCRS). The component which is required for information system and data analysis is divided by four factors. Those are Ground Motion Component, Road Network Component, Fragile Structure Component, and Cost Component. These components have various manners and procedures that build informations by each systems. In this study, applying the domestic system resources and these four factors, we presented the integrated evaluating system. finally, we also present the prototype of DCRS based on the ArcGIS. It is expected that developed prototype can play a role in more improved DCRS by advanced study.

  • Semantic video object extraction is important for tracking meaningful objects in video and object-based video coding. We propose a fast semiautomatic video object extraction algorithm which combines a watershed segmentation schemes and chamfer distance transform. Initial object boundaries in the first frame are defined by a human before the tracking, and fast video object tracking can be achieved by tracking only motion-detected regions in a video frame. Experimental results shows that the boundaries of tracking video object arc close to real video object boundaries and the proposed algorithm is promising in terms of speed.
