  • 전력사용이 증가함에 따라 전기설비에 의한 전기화재 수가 늘어나고 있다. 통계에 따르면 전기화재가 화재원인 중 가장 많은 비중을 차지하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 전기화재를 정확히 찾아낼 수 있는 조사기법이 개발되지 않고 있는 실정이다. 이 논문은 전기화재 원인과 아크차단기의 특성에 관하여 분석한다. 아크에 의한 위험을 수학적 분석을 이용한 전력계산을 통하여 분석하고 단락회로에 의한 위험성과 비교한다. 또한 아크차단기와 기존의 누전차단기와 비교를 통하여 아크차단기의 필요성을 제기한다.

  • This paper presents a new numerical algorithm suitable for defining recloser reclaims time and blocking automatic reclosing during permanent faults on overhead lines. It is based on terminal voltage input data processing. The decision if it is safe or not to reclose is determined from the voltage signal of faulted and tripped line phase using Total Harmonic Distortion factor calculated by Discrete Fourier Transform. The algorithm was successfully tested using signals recorded on the real power system. The tests demonstrate the ability of presented algorithm to determine the secondary arc extinction time and to block unsuccessful automatic reclosing of HV lines with permanent fault.

  • An Algorithm is devised to discriminate power distribution faults from other activites utilizing the arc activity and changes in the loading. This scheme intends to determine the cause of the transients and identify them. the discrimination algorithm was tested using recorded event data.

  • 전기회로에서 발생하는 아크로 인한 전기화재를 예방할 수 있는 아크차단기(AFCI)의 아크 검출성능 시험규격은 현재 UL1699가 세계적으로 인정되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 여기에 정의된 방법에 따라 탄화경로(Carbonized Path)를 생성하여 모의아크를 발생시켜 보았다. 그에 따른 전압을 가변하여 국내에서 사용되고 있는 전선 및 케이블에 탄화경로를 생성시킬 수 있는 적절한 전원을 제안하고, 아크가 발생한 탄화경로의 임피던스를 측정 및 분석함으로서 UL1699의 아크차단기 성능시험 방법을 검토하고 시험절차의 개선방법을 제안하였다.

  • Recently, the load increasement and new regenerative systems of electrified railway system make it a difficult to distinguish between the load current and fault current. The failure of traction system perhaps causes over-current to flow. The high current can collapse other railway systems. If failures of the traction system takes place, the failures are detected and protected lest it should provoke high current flow. The over current from such a traction system failure permit to charge high tension voltage and produces high temperature arc, voltage instability, current cutting, and break down railway systems. The traction system failures detect and the system has to immediately cut off from over-current flow. To isolate the failure, the system can distinguish failure current from current flows. It forces us to adapt such as a new intelligent protection system. The protective system in traction system play a role of detecting and isolating failure points. In this paper, we proposed intelligent algorithm for discriminating normal and abnormal situation instead of the system being operated abnormally.

  • Despite the numerous electric systems that have been developed, electric fires remain at a similar rate each year in total fires. This paper suggests that it is not enough to prevent electric fires only by the currently used electric system. We have studied ways to improve this situation. we have focused on AFCIs that have already been institutionalized in the United States. AFCIs work by detecting the arc fault in the circuit. This is expected to contribute greatly to reducing electric fires.

  • This paper describes a study on gas dissolved distribution in oil for simulated transformer thermal faults. Experimental chamber was setup for simulation of transformer thermal faults or discharge in oil with or without insulation paper. The experimental results showed that dissolved gases in oil excluding the paper did not evolved upto $150^{\circ}C$. Hereafter the planned gas dissolved analysis will be continuously carried out for transformer fault conditions with or without insulation paper related to water absorption, arc and partial discharge.

  • 본 논문은 2기 5모선 모의계통에 3상 단락고장을 발생시킬 경우, 해당 모선에서 각 차단기가 분담하는 고장전류를 PSCAD/EMTBC3.0을 이용하여 분석한 결과이다. 적용된 차단기 개극시간(Contact Parting Time, CPT) 및 아크시간(Arc Time) 등은 실제 차단기 제작사(효성, 현대중공업 및 LG산전)들로부터 조사/수집하여 적용하였으며, 적용 대상계통은 PSS/E 분석결과와 비교/검토하여 검증하였다. 이는 기존 혹은 신설 차단기 적정 차단용량을 선정하는데도 활용가능 할 것으로 보인다.

  • Vacuum circuit breaker(VCB) has been widely used for interruption of load current and fault current for high voltage motor in the industrial field. Its arc extinguishing capability is excellent compared to other breakers. But it has the potential to cause multi reignition surge by high extinguishing capability. Surge voltage is generated by the opening and closing of VCB. Multi reignition surge of VCB is steep-fronted waveform. It may have a detrimental effect on the motor winding insulation. So, most of users install a protection device to limit steep-front waveform at the motor terminal or breaker side. So, most of users install a protection device at the motor terminal or breaker side. This protective device is surge absorber(SA) such as ZnO and RC type. In this study, we analyzed whether there is any effect when two type SA is applied to the VCB multi reignition surge. We confirmed that ZnO SA is slightly more effective than RC SA for reduction of multi reignition surge.
