Many environmental destruction factors are accompanied in the mining development work and the secondary environmental disaster and the induction factors are inhered. We aquired digital data using aerial photogrammetry to analyze the terrain current situation according to the development situation of the mining restoration plan. We made the object area to 3D model and conducted terrian change monitoring. Then, we presented the decision-making information to improve rational management according to the original state plan.

This paper describes the implemenation of localization and visualization scheme to find out an ultrasonic source caused by defects of a power distribution line equipment. To increase the fault detection performance, $2{\times}4$ sensor array is configured with MEMS ultrasonic sensors, and from the sensor signals aquired, the azimuth and elevation angles of the ultrasonic source is estimated based on the delay-sum beam forming method. Also, to visualize the estimated location, it is marked on the background image. Experimental results show applicability of the present technique.

Maxillary defects are a result of necessary cancer surgery, congenital anomaly or trauma. Ideally the patient with the aquired maxillary defect should be provided with an obturator prosthesis that is comfortable, restores adequate speech, deglutition, and mastication, and is acceptable cosmetically. This is a case report of open type hollow obturator delivered in the partial maxillectomy treated patient. The satisfied result obtained as follows: The open type hollow obturator has the advantage of easy fabrication, lightness, easy cleaning and restores adquate speech.

후천성 면역 결핍 증후군(AIDS, Aquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome)과 사람 면역결핍 바이러스 (HIV, Human Immunodeficiency Virus)관련 질환은 1981년 처음 AIDS가 보고된 이래 전 세계적으로 인류의 건강을 위협하고 있는 공중보건학적 문제이다. 그동안 HIV/AIDS 관련 질환에 대한 치료들은 주로 감염 경로 차단 및 관련된 내과적 질환의 치료에 초점이 맞추어져 왔다. 그러나 AIDS 환자 본인뿐만 아니라 가족, 치료진들은 흔히 HIV 감염으로 인한 심리적인 어려움에서부터 HIV 전파 위험을 높이는 물질 오남용 문제, 우울증, 치매 같은 전형적인 정신과 질환 및 자살에 이르기 까지 다양한 종류의 정신건강 상의 문제들에 자주 직면한다. 이와 같은 신경정신과적 문제들은 치료 결과나 예후, 삶의 질 등에 영향을 미칠 수 있기 때문에 환자의 가족들은 AIDS로 인한 정신과적 질환이나 현상들에 대해 잘 이해하고 적절하게 대처할 필요가 있다.

This study proposes integrity evaluation method of weld zone in rails using high precision distance amplitude characteristics curve(DACC) and ultrasonic signals. For these purposes, the ultrasonic signals for defects(porosity and crack) of weld zone in rails are acquired in the type of time series data and echo strength. 6 lines in the DACC indicated damage evaluation standard of weld zone in rails. The aquired ultrasonic signals agree fairly well with the mesured results of reference block and sensitivity block(defect location, beam propagation distance, echo strength, etc). The proposed high precision DACC in this study can be used for integrity evaluation of weld zone in rails.

We have developed a remote diagnosis system using the LAN and MODEM which enables a routine check for a patient remotely. We used $LabVIEW^{TM}$ as the programing development tool and DAQ (Data Aquisition) board from National Instrument for data aquisition. The LAN card and MODEM are used for the transmission of patient's data. A patient data are aquired by DAQ board and signal processing is done by $LabVIEW^{TM}$, which is a graphical prgamming language. Two methods for the data of transmission. One is the Client-Server model using TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Address) in the LAN (Local Area Network) Another is using MODEM to transmit the measured data from a patient. In this case, the data transmission is accomplished by the FTP (File Transfer Protocol).

A multi-font, multi-size and high speed character recognition system is designed. The design principles are simpilcity of algorithm, adaptibility, learnability, hierachical data processing and attention by feed back. For the multi-size character recognition, the extracted character images are normalized. A hierachical classifier classifies the feature vectors. Feature is extracted by applying the directional receptive field after the directional dege filter processing. The hierachical classifier is consist of two pre-classifiers and one decision making classifier. The effect of two pre-classifiers is prediction to the final decision making classifier. With the pre-classifiers, the time to compute the distance of the final classifier is reduced. Recognition rate is 95% for the three documents printed in three kinds of fonts, total 1,700 characters. For high speed implemention, a multiprocessor system with the ring structure of four transputers is implemented, and the recognition speed of 30 characters per second is aquired.

This paper describes on the distribution of polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in various size of atmospheric particulate matter (A.P.M.). A.P.M. in Seoul city were collected on guartz fiber filter according to particle size using an Andersen high volume air sampler from Feb. 1983 to March 1984. And 7 PAHs [benzo(a)pyrene, benzo(k)fluoranthene, benzo(ghi)perylene, benzo(e) pyrene, perylene, chrysene, and pyrene] were analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography. The concentration of A.P.M. showed spring-winter maxima and summer-autumn minia. The A.P.M. was lowest in the concentration at the 1.1~3.3$\mu\textrm{m}$ particulates, and the concentration increased as the particle size increased or decreased. But the concentrations of PAHs increased with the decrease in the particle size, and were predominant in winter. The correlations among the PAHs were high. And there fore, benzo(a)pyrene concentration could be considered as the representive of PAHs.

In this study, in order to find our high school students' misconceptions on genetics and evolution, a free-answer form of questionnaire, specially designed through analysis of high school biology curriculum, was developed and sent to one hundred and eight high school students in Seoul area. Their responses were collected and qualitatively analyzed. Main results of the study can be summarized as follows: 1. Some students misunderstood that aquired chracters are inherited. 2. Several students weren't instructed clearly about gene. For example, they responsed that genes are not material, composed of proteins, exist only in reproductive cells and are not in plant cells at all. 3. Some students confused chromosome with chlorophyll, dorminant (in dorminant character) with excellent. They are caused by similar spells in Korean letter 4. Half students misconceptualized that organisms evolve just when their environment changes for the worse. 5. Many students believed orthogenesis.
