This study was conducted to quantify soil $CO_2$ efflux using the continuous measurement method and to examine the applicability of an automatic continuous measurement system in a Korean deciduous broad-leaved forest. Soil respiration rate (Rs) was assessed through continuous measurements during the 2004-2005 full growing seasons using an automatic opening/closing chamber system in sections of a Gwangneung temperate deciduous forest, Korea. The study site was an old-growth natural mixed deciduous forest approximately 80 years old. For each full growth season, the annual Rs, which had a gap that was filled with data using an exponential function derived from soil temperature (Ts) at 5-cm depth, and Rs values collected in each season were 2,738.1 g $CO_2$$m^{-2}y^{-1}$ in 2004 and 3,355.1 g $CO_2$$m^{-2}y^{-1}$ in 2005. However, the diurnal variation in Rs showed stronger correlations with Ts (r = 0.91, P < 0.001 in 2004, r = 0.87, P < 0.001 in 2005) and air temperature (Ta) (r = 0.84, P < 0.001 in 2004, r = 0.79, P < 0.001 in 2005) than with deep Ts during the spring season. However, the temperature functions derived from the Ts at various depths of 0, -2, -5, -10, and -20 cm revealed that the correlation coefficient decreased with increasing soil depth in the spring season, whereas it increased in the summer. Rs showed a weak correlation with precipitation (r = 0.25, P < 0.01) and soil water content (r = 0.28, P < 0.05). Additionally, the diurnal change in Rs revealed a higher correlation with Ta than that of Ts. The $Q_{10}$ values from spring to winter were calculated from each season's dataset and were 3.2, 1.5, 7.4, and 2.7 in 2004 and 6.0, 3.1, 3.0, and 2.6 in 2005; thus, showing high fluctuation within each season. The applicability of an automatic continuous system was demonstrated for collecting a high resolution soil $CO_2$ efflux dataset under various environmental conditions.
With the success of the digital economy and the rapid development of its technology, network security has received increasing attention. Intrusion detection technology has always been a focus and hotspot of research. A hybrid model that combines particle swarm optimization (PSO) and kernel extreme learning machine (KELM) is presented in this work. Continuous-valued PSO and binary PSO (BPSO) are adopted together to determine the parameter combination and the feature subset. A fitness function based on the detection rate and the number of selected features is proposed. The results show that the method can simultaneously determine the parameter values and select features. Furthermore, competitive or better accuracy can be obtained using approximately one quarter of the raw input features. Experiments proved that our method is slightly better than the genetic algorithm-based KELM model.
13C, 15N, and 29Si NMR chemical shifts have been computed for selected X-substituted silatranes (X=Cl, F, H, CH3) using Gauge-Including Atomic Orbitals (GIAO) and Continuous Set of Gauge Transformations (CSGT) at the Hartree-Fock level of theory. The isotropic 13C chemical shifts are largely insensitive to substituent-induced structural changes. In this study, the isotropic 13C chemical shifts GIAO and CSGT calculations at the HF/6-31G and HF/6-31G* levels are sufficiently accurate to aid in experimental peak assignments. The isotropic 13C chemical shifts X-substituted silatranes at HF/6-31G* level are approximately 4 ppm different from the experimental values. In contrast, the isotropic 15N and 29Si chemical shifts and the chemical shielding tensors are quite sensitive to substituent-induced structural changes. These trends are consistent with those of the experiment. The 15N chemical shift parameters demonstrate a very clear correlation with Si-N distance, especially when we use the polarization function. Changes in anisotropy, 3a as well as in the 15N isotropic chemical shifts are due primarily to changes in the value of a.. But in case of "Si the correlations are not as clean as for the 15N chemical shift.

An optimal network design method using continuous form of design variables is considered. Modified Hooke-and-Jeeves algorithm has been implemented in order to solve nonlinear progamming problem which is approximately equivalent to the real network design problem (NDP) with system. efficiency criteria(i. e. travel time and costs) and construction cost as objective function. Various forms of construction cost function, locations of initial solution, and dimension of initial step size of link improvement are taken into account to show the validity of this approach. The results obtained are quite promising in terms of the numbers of evaluations in solving NDP, and the speed of convergence. Finally, some techniques in choosing efficient intial solution, initial step size and approximation are given.
A new technology on video frame rate up-conversion (FRUC) is presented by combining the median filter and motion estimation (ME) with an occlusion detection (OD) method. First, ME is performed to have a motion vector. Then, the OD method is used to refine motion vector in the occlusion region. Since the wrong motion vector can be obtained with high possibility in the occluded area, a median filtering that less depends on the motion vector is applied to that area, and since the motion vector is continuous and robust in the non-occluded area, BDMC(Bi-Directional Motion Compensated interpolation) is applied to obtain interpolated image in that area. BDMC using the bi-directional motion vectors achieves good results when continuity and robustness of the motion vector is higher. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm provides better performance than the conventional approach. The average gain of PSNR (Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) is approximately 0.16 dB in the test sequences compared with BDMC.

Current synthesis processes for titanium dioxide ($TiO_2$) nanoparticles require expensive precursors or templates as well as complex steps and long reaction times. In addition, these processes produce highly agglomerated nanoparticles. In this study, we demonstrate a simple and continuous approach to synthesize $TiO_2$ nanoparticles by a salt-assisted ultrasonic spray pyrolysis method. We also investigate the effect of salt content in a precursor solution on the morphology and size of synthesized products. The synthesized $TiO_2$ nanoparticles are systematically characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron micrograph, and UV-Vis spectroscopy. These nanoparticles appear to have a single anatase phase and a uniform particle-size distribution with an average particle size of approximately 10 nm. By extrapolating the plots of the transformed Kubelka-Munk function versus the absorbed light energy, we determine that the energy band gap of the synthesized $TiO_2$ nanoparticles is 3.25 eV.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in 2018, approximately 37% of residential buildings in Korea need to be reconstructed. Due to the rapid growth of the demolition industry, many side effects such as environmental destruction and safety accidents are becoming a problem in the demolition of existing buildings. This study proposes a decision-making process for selecting the most suitable dismantling method for field application by comprehensively considering safety, economic feasibility, and environmental characteristics. In particular, field applicability is evaluated by evaluating risk factors for the selected method. To this end, this study proposes the TOPSIS method for the selection of the dismantling method using the QFD development concept, and the FMEA method as a continuous development process of the selected method.
A guanidinium salt of $[U(PW_{11}O_{39})_2]^{10-}$, the solubility of which is adequate for crystal growing, has been synthesized. Using this salt or potassium salt, we have measured the stability of $[U(PW_{11}O_{39})_2]^{10-}$as a function of pH of the solution and found that the anion is stable for the pH range 3~7. We have developed a colorimetric method for determining the concentration of $U^{4+}$. In this method$PW_{11}O_{39}^{7-}$ is added to$U^{4+}$ in such a quantity that the mole ratio $PW_{11}O_{39}^{7-}/ U^{4+}$exceeds 2 and the intensity of the 22.7kK band (${\varepsilon}$1030 M-1cm-1) is measured. In order to develop a continuous method to recover uranium, we have determined the amount of recoverd$PW_{11}O_{39}^{7-}$ after decomposing $[U(PW_{11}O_{39})_2]^{10}$- by adding either a base or an oxidizing agent. The percentage of $PW_{11}O_{39}^{7-}$recovered was approximately 70% when a base was used and approximately 80% when$K_2S_2O_8$ was used. A colorimetric method for determining $PW_{11}O_{39}^{7-}$ has also been developed.

With approximately 20 million transportation card data entries of the metropolitan districts being generated per day, application of the data to management and policy interventions is becoming an issue of interest. The research herein attempts a model of the possibility of dynamic demand change predictions and its purpose is thereby to construct a Dynamic Passengers Trip Assignment Model. The model and algorithm created are targeted at city rail lines operated by seven different transport facilities with the exclusion of travel by bus, as passenger movements by this mode can be minutely disaggregated through card tagging. The model created has been constructed in continuous time as is fitting to the big data characteristic of transport card data, while passenger path choice behavior is effectively represented using a perception parameter as a function of increasing number of transfers. Running the model on 800 pairs of metropolitan city rail data has proven its capability in determining dynamic demand at any moment in time, in line with the typical advantages expected of a continuous time-based model. Comparison against data measured by the eye of existing rail operating facilities to assess changes in congestion intensity shows that the model closely approximates the values and trends of the existing data with high levels of confidence. Future research efforts should be directed toward continued examination into construction of an integrated bus-city rail system model.

Focusing on Gyeonggi Library, which is preparing Metaverse services using resident participatory budgets, we deduced the role of Metaverse suitable for metropolitan representative libraries, conducting a preliminary study and analyzing various informational resources. Subsequently, we presented a collaborative content construction and service model primarily centered around the metropolitan representative library. We conducted a survey targeting on-site librarians from metropolitan representative libraries, as well as various libraries across Gyeonggi Province and the entire nation. Through this survey, we extracted insights into the Metaverse role, content possibilities, and considerations for seamless cooperation within the scope of the metropolitan representative library. Based on the opinions of surveyed librarians, it was evident that the role of the metropolitan representative library's Metaverse should function as a tool for continuous utilization of library resources and serve as a space for the entire local community. Approximately three-fourths of the respondents expressed willingness to participate in collaborative content development. However, concerns were raised about human resource limitations, budget constraints, and excessive workloads as potential obstacles to participation. This highlighted the need for systematic support from the metropolitan representative library to address these concerns.
