Objectives This research was aimed to analyze and assess the articles of qualitative research of Pediatrics by following Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Research (COREQ). Methods Two researchers analyzed and assessed the reports' quality and appropriateness based on COREQ guideline. The articles that failed to achieve consensus from the two researchers, the third researcher made a final decision. Results A total of fifty-six reports which used caregivers as participants, were selected and adopted qualitative research methods were chosen. In most qualitative studies, COREQ was not implemented. Some parts of the studies were poorly described and elaborated when reviewing them based on the COREQ guidelines. In the 'Research team and reflexivity', there was lack of description about the researcher. In the 'Study design', there were no detailed descriptions on the approaches they took in recruiting their study participants. There was not enough detail reflexivity participants who refused, and where the recruitment took place. There were also no records of whether there was a pilot test or a data saturation. In 'Analysis and findings' section, there were few articles mentioning Participant checking, and the main opinion of the participants were well analyzed in all the papers, but excluding opinions of few participants. Conclusions There are still many qualitative studies that have caregivers as participants, in the field of pediatrics. However, methodological skills are insufficient. The use of the COREQ guidelines should be further implemented for more robust and methodological improvement.

슬래그의 팽창성 붕괴는 주로 Free-CaO의 수화 반응이 주된 원인으로 분석되고 있으며, 이 문제의 해결 방안을 마련하기 위해 여러 기관에서 연구가 진행되고 있고, 더불어 콘크리트용 골재로의 활용 방안을 지속적으로 연구하고 있다. 현재, 국내에서는 고로 슬래그에 대한 연구는 많이 이루어지고 있지만, 전기로 및 전로 슬래그와 같은 제강 슬래그에 대한 연구는 극히 미비한 실정이다. 이에, 본 연구의 주재료인 전기로 산화 슬래그의 기초적인 물성 분석뿐만 아니라, 화학적인 메커니즘을 규명하여 콘크리트용 잔골재로서의 활용 가능성을 분석하고, 실생활에 응용하는데 그 목적이 있다고 하겠다. 그렇기 때문에, 본 연구의 진행 방향으로 전기로 산화 슬래그의 성분 분석과 함께 기본 물성을 측정하고, 이후에 중/장기 강도 및 세부적인 내구성 분석을 실시하여, 시멘트 콘크리트 적용의 적합성 평가 후, 규격을 제안하는 절차를 밟았다. 본 연구에 대한 기대 효과는 산업 부산물의 활용에 따른 환경 보전 및 재활용이라는 측면 이외에도, 전기로 산화 슬래그의 시멘트 콘크리트용 잔골재서의 상용화에 있다고 하겠다.

Objective : Acupuncture, one of the Oriental medical treatment techniques in East Asia, is growing in popularity all over the world. Based on bibliographical and clinical data, the depth of needling, i.e. superficial or deep needling, has been considered to be a variable as potential modifiers of needling effects, such as localization, manipulation of the needle, or elicitation of DeQi. The purpose of this review is to summarize clinical trials using minimal acupuncture and to evaluate its appropriateness as a control. Methods : A survey of computerized literature searches for randomized controlled trials using minimal acupuncture revealed that a total of 10 studies were published until April 2008. Results : Results obtained from clinical trials showed that acupuncture were more effective than minimal acupuncture in 3 out of 10 trials, while others were no more effective than control. However, minimal acupuncture might neither be a inert placebo nor be indiscriminable. Conclusion : Minimal acupuncture as 'placebo' controls seems misleading and scientifically unacceptable.

Severe sepsis and septic shock are major healthcare problems with high mortality, ranging from 20% to 60%, affecting millions of individuals around the world each year. The speed and appropriateness of therapy administered in the initial hours after severe sepsis develops have an important impact on the outcome. In 2004, an international guideline that the bedside clinician could use to improve the outcomes in severe cases of sepsis and septic shock was published. Several landmark studies recently demonstrated that therapeutic strategies may reduce mortality substantially. The "Surviving Sepsis Campaign guidelines for management of severe sepsis and septic shock: 2008", using a new evidence-based methodology system for assessing the quality of evidence and the strength of the recommendations, was updated. The revised version is based on an updated search into 2007. Evidenced-based recommendations regarding the acute management of sepsis and septic shock are the first step toward improving the outcomes of critically ill patients. We review the treatment guidelines of sepsis and septic shock.

The aim of this paper is to investigate the appropriateness of current codes of practice for predicting the axial load capacity of high-strength Concrete Filled Steel Tubular Columns (CFSTCs). Australian/New Zealand standards and other international codes of practice for composite bridges and buildings are currently being revised and will allow for the use of high-strength CFSTCs. It is therefore important to assess and modify the suitability of the section and ultimate buckling capacities models. For this purpose, available experimental results on high-strength composite columns have been assessed. The collected experimental results are compared with eight current codes of practice for rectangular CFSTCs and seven current codes of practice for circular CFSTCs. Furthermore, based on the statistical studies carried out, simplified relationships are developed to predict the section and ultimate buckling capacities of normal and high-strength short and slender rectangular and circular CFSTCs subjected to concentric loading.

최근 들어 선박직원법상 승무기준의 개정의 필요성에 대한 강력한 주장이 수산업계에서 제기되었다. 수산업계에서는 승무기준완화 입장을 유지하는 반면 노동계와 해기사 및 통신사협회는 현행유지 내지 기준의 강화를 주장하였다. 본 연구는 선박안전운항을 확보하기 위하여 선박직원법상 소형선박조종사 승무기준의 타당성과 그 개선 방안을 연구 제시하고자 한다.

Purpose - This study aimed to develop a new practical and universally applicable service quality model by improving the service quality measurement model proposed by many previous studies. Research design, data, and methodology - An in-depth analysis on what influences such service quality model had on the improvement effect of service quality, and Service Evaluation Model("SEM"), which was revised from the existing service quality measurement model, was developed. The model is divided into the two integrative categories: First, activity, that is the group of service-related activities. Next is item, the group of service-related objects. The level of service is evaluated for each category via survey questionnaire on service level evaluation. Based on the model, SEM has visibility by structuring the whole service industry. Results - For the application of the new service quality model, this study attempted to examine the appropriateness of the newly proposed service quality model by applying it to retail service field. Conclusions - As a result, the proposed service model would be a useful and applicable service quality measurement model required by many organizations. Service company can set up self check service levels. Through these results, they can look for the ways to provide better services to customers. Service users can ensure the objectivity of business plan based upon SEM.

This study evaluated the content of Korean vocabulary learning applications with a focus on tablet PC applications. We analyzed 51 Korean vocabulary learning applications. The instruments in this study were developed based on Yoo et al. (2012)' Vocabulary Learning Game Application Evaluation Criteria and Hyun et al. (2013)' Educational Application Evaluation Criteria. Data were analyzed using a t-test and one-way analysis of variance. The main results are as follows. First, each criteria's score was fairly good; the ease of use had the highest scores and the amusement had the lowest scores. Second, there was a significant difference in the interaction by vocabulary teaching approach. Applications based on a whole language-teaching method had higher scores than applications based on a phonics instructional teaching method inducing more operation and with immediate feedback. Third, there was significant difference in the sum of score and each criteria of developmental appropriateness, educational values, amusement, function and interaction by type of learning. Applications of combining type had higher scores in every criteria except for ease of use than applications of description type. These findings provide a preliminary evidence that the systematic Korean vocabulary learning application facilitates preschoolers' vocabulary learning.

Fashion companies make use of diverse strategies to have a competitive edge as there is a growing fierce competition. According to earlier studies, consumers prefer the products and services of companies that direct their energy into CSR activities if there's little disparity in quality of products and services among the companies. The way consumers look at the CSR activities of businesses is very important for the companies since it is linked to their evaluation and image of the companies and indulgencies on their word-of-mouth, purchase and loyalty. It's not quite advisable for fashion companies to make an investment in CSR activities without any specific plans or conviction of the effectiveness of the activities. Actually, lots of domestic companies fail to success their CSR activities, despite of their hard efforts. This study was to examine the appropriateness of corporate CSR activities, the attitude of customers to companies and their intention of recommendation and purchase in detail, and to provide some information on strategy setting for the CSR activities of fashion businesses.
