하천 세굴심 산정을 위한 교각 세굴심 산정식의 적용성 검토 (Review on Applicability of Local Scour Depth Calculation Formula in River)

  • 교량을 건설함에 있어 물의 흐름에 영향을 받는 교량 하부 구조물에 대한 토질 및 구조역학적 기초 분석은 충분하지만 수리현상으로 발생하는 세굴의 안정성 검토는 미흡한 실정이다. 또한 교각세굴심 산정에 있어 해외 교각세굴심 산정식을 활용하고 있기에 국내 하천의 유역 특성을 반영한 교각세굴심을 정도 높게 산정하는데 미흡하다. 본 연구에서는 현재 우리나라 하천설계 기준에 적용되고 있는 CSU(1993)공식 뿐만 아니라 세굴심 산정에 있어 불확실성을 고려하기 위하여 다른 교각 세굴심 산정식을 추가로 적용하여 세굴심을 산정한 후 각각의 공식들 간에 적용성을 검토하였다. 검토 결과 기존 사용되고 있는 9개의 교각세굴심 산정식으로 산정된 교각 세굴심 깊이와 수리 모형실험을 바탕으로 측정된 세굴심과 비교하였을 경우 SSE(%)는 최소 2.08%, 최대 91.23%, SSEn(%)은 최소 0.19%, 최대 415.91%의 차이를 보이고 있음을 확인하였다. 그 결과, 교각세굴심 산정식 간에도 많은 차이가 있음을 확인하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 하천설계에 있어 정도 높은 세굴심을 산정함에 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • In order to estimate the detection range of a active SONAR system, the SONAR equation is commonly used. In this paper, an algorithm to calculate detection range in active SONAR system as function of SONAR depth and target depth is presented. For given SONAR parameters and environment, the transmission loss and background level are found, signal excess is computed. Using log-normal distribution, signal excess is converted to detection probability at each range. Then, the detection range is obtained by integrating the detection probability as function of range for each depth. The proposed algorithm have been applied to the case of omni-directional source with center frequency 30Hz for summer and winter sound profiles. It is found that the optimal search depth is the source depth since the detection range increase at source depth where the signal excess is maximized.

깊이 화면을 이용한 움직임 객체의 추적 방법 (Tracking Method for Moving Object Using Depth Picture)

  • The conventional methods using color signal for tracking the movement of the object require a lot of calculation and the performance is not accurate. In this paper, we propose a method to effectively track the moving objects using the depth information from a depth camera. First, it separates the background and the objects based on the depth difference in the depth of the screen. When an object is moved, the depth value of the object becomes blurred because of the phenomenon of Motion Blur. In order to solve the Motion Blur, we observe the changes in the characteristics of the object (the area of the object, the border length, the roundness, the actual size) by its velocity. The proposed algorithm was implemented in the simulation that was applied directly to the tracking of a golf ball. We can see that the estimated value of the proposed method is accurate enough to be very close to the actual measurement.

  • External corrosion control of buried pipe can be achieved by the combination of barrier coating and cathodic protection. Coating damage and deterioration can be induced by many reasons; damage during handling and laying, enhanced failure at low temperatures, failure during commissioning and operation, disbanding due to inadequate surface cleaning, rock penetration during installation and service etc. This work focused on the effect of survey conditions on the reliability of coating flaw detection of buried pipes. The effects of applied voltage and anode location on the detection reliability of coating flaw of buried pipe in soil with the resistivity of ca. 25.8 kΩ·cm were discussed. Higher applied voltage increased the detection reliability, regardless of buried depth, but deeper burial depth reduced the reliability. The location of the anode has influenced on the detection reliability. This behaviour may be induced by the variation of current distribution by the applied voltage and buried depth. From the relationship between the applied voltage and reliability, the needed detection potential to get a desire detection reliability can be calculated to get 100% detection reliability using the derived equation.

  • In general, the parameters of climate change include aerosol chemical compounds, aerosol optical depth, greenhouse gases(carbon dioxide, CFCs, methane, nitrous oxide, tropospheric ozone), ozone distribution, precipitation acidity and chemical compounds, persistent organic pollutants and heavy metals, radioactivity, solar radiation including ultra-violet and standard meteorological parameters. Over the last ten years, the monitoring activities of Korea regarding to the climate change have been progressed within the WMO GAW and ACE-Asia IOP programs centered at the observation sites of Anmyeon and Jeju Gosan islands respectively. The Greenhouse gases were pointed out that standard air quality monitoring techniques are required to enhance data comparability and that data presentation formats need to be harmonized and easily understood. Especially, the impact of atmospheric aerosols on climate depends on their optical properties, which, in turn, are a function of aerosol size distribution and the spectral reflective indices. Aerosol optical depth and single scattering albedo in the visible are used as the two basic parameters in the atmospheric temperature variation studies. The former parameter is an indicator of the attenuation power of aerosols, while the latter represents the relative strength of scattering and absorption by aerosols. For aerosols with weak absorption, surface temperature decreases as the optical depth increases because of the domination of backscattering. For aerosols with strong absorption, however, warming could occur as the optical depth increases. The objective of the study is to characterize the means, variability, and trends of Greenhouse gases and aerosol properties on a regional basis using data from its baseline observatories in Korea peninsula. A further goal is to understand the factors that control radiative forcing of the greenhouse and aerosol.

계층적 결합형 양방향 필터를 이용한 실시간 깊이 영상 보정 방법 (Real-time Depth Image Refinement using Hierarchical Joint Bilateral Filter)

  • 본 논문에서는 결합형 양방향 필터를 이용하여 깊이 영상을 실시간으로 보정하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 Kinect 깊이 카메라로부터 얻은 깊이 영상의 화질을 실시간으로 향상시키기 위해 GPU 내의 상수 메모리와 2차원 영상 처리에 적합한 텍스쳐 메모리를 사용한다. 또한, 단일 화소에 대한 결합형 양방향 필터 연산을 각 GPU 쓰레드(thread)에 할당한 다음 병렬로 처리하여 계산량을 현저히 감소시킨다. 그리고 깊이 영상의 품질을 더욱 높이기 위해 CUDA를 이용해 구현한 결합형 양방향 필터를 계층형 구조로 반복적으로 수행하여 폐색 영역이 채워진 깊이 영상을 얻을 수 있다. 실험 결과를 통해, 제안한 실시간 깊이 영상 보정 방법이 깊이 영상의 주관적 화질을 향상시키고, 초당 55 화면의 속도로 동작하는 것을 확인했다.

  • A single span-to-depth ratio function is proposed for control of deflection in one-way concrete construction. The equation can be applied to one-way slabs, beams, and flat plates. Effects of cracking, time-dependent deformation, boundary conditions, applied loading, and target deflection-to-span ratio are taken into account.

  • We present the boundary value problem (BVP) for the heave motion due to a vertical circular cylinder in water of finite depth. The BVP is presented in terms of velocity potential function. The velocity potential is obtained by considering two regions, namely, interior region and exterior region. The solutions for these two regions are obtained by the method of separation of variables. The analytical expressions for the hydrodynamic coefficients are derived. Computational results are presented for various depth to radius and draft to radius ratios.

  • Sliding wear tests have been performed to evaluate the effect of normal load decrease on the wear depth of nuclear fuel rods in room temperature air. The objectives of this study are to quantitatively evaluate the supporting ability of spacer grid springs, to estimate the wear depth by using the contacting force decrease and to compare the wear behavior with increasing test cycles (up to $10^7$) at each spring condition. The result showed that the contacting load decrease depends on the spring shape and the applied slip amplitude. The estimated wear depth is smaller when compared with measured wear depth. Based on the test results, the wear mechanism, the role of wear debris layer and the spring shape effect were discussed.

  • Penetration depth of Nb electrodes in $Nb/A1O_x/Nb$ Josephson junctions has been measured by resistive method. For a given applied field, the total flux through the junction is temperature dependent because the penetration depth of Nb electrode varies with temperature. If the total flux equals an integral multiple of the flux quantum at certain temperatures, resistive peaks appear at those temperatures. The penetration depth of Nb can be determined by applying the above condition, The temperature dependence of penetration depth was found to be well described by the two-fluid model.
