깊이불연속 형상 측정을 위한 레이저 응용 하이브리드 초점법 (A Laser-Applied Hybrid Focus Method for the Measurement of a Surface Morphology with Depth Discontinuity)

  • A hybrid focus method with multiple laser slits is newly proposed for the measurement of surface morphology with depth discontinuity, and it is based on the integration of DFB and DFF. Rough depth information is estimated through calibration tables which are constructed by DFD with multiple laser slits, and then DFF is applied to only each specific depth range using the rough depth information resulting from DFD. The proposed hybrid method gives more accurate results than DFD and DFF, and faster measurement than DFF in the vicinity of depth discontinuity Its performance is verified through experiments of calibration blocks with sharp depth discontinuity.

하방 촬영된 깊이 영상을 이용한 신장 추정 (Estimation of Human Height Using Downward Depth Images)

  • In this paper, we propose a method for estimating the human height by using downward depth images. We detect a point with the lowest depth value in an object as top of the head and estimate the height by calculating the depth difference with the floor. Since the depth of the floor varies depending on the angle of the camera, the correction formula is applied. In addition, the binarization threshold is variably applied so that height can be estimated even when several people are adjacent. Simulation results show that the proposed method has better performance than the conventional methods. The proposed method is expected to be widely used in body measurement, intelligent surveillance, and marketing.

2D-to-3D Conversion System using Depth Map Enhancement

  • This study introduces an image-based 2D-to-3D conversion system that provides significant stereoscopic visual effects for humans. The linear and atmospheric perspective cues that compensate each other are employed to estimate depth information. Rather than retrieving a precise depth value for pixels from the depth cues, a direction angle of the image is estimated and then the depth gradient, in accordance with the direction angle, is integrated with superpixels to obtain the depth map. However, stereoscopic effects of synthesized views obtained from this depth map are limited and dissatisfy viewers. To obtain impressive visual effects, the viewer's main focus is considered, and thus salient object detection is performed to explore the significance region for visual attention. Then, the depth map is refined by locally modifying the depth values within the significance region. The refinement process not only maintains global depth consistency by correcting non-uniform depth values but also enhances the visual stereoscopic effect. Experimental results show that in subjective evaluation, the subjectively evaluated degree of satisfaction with the proposed method is approximately 7% greater than both existing commercial conversion software and state-of-the-art approach.

유효토심을 적용한 유출해석 결과의 왜곡 분석 (Analysis of Bias in the Runoff Results Due to the Application of Effective Soil Depth)

  • 본 연구에서는 토심 대신 유효토심을 사용함에 따라 발생하는 강우-유출 해석과정의 문제를 VIC(Variable Infiltration Capacity) 모형을 가지고 살펴보았다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 모형의 매개변수를 다음과 같이 결정하였다. 먼저, 가용한 수치 정보를 이용하여 결정할 수 있는 매개변수는 고정하였다. 직접유출 및 기저유출 등에 관여하는 매개변수는 VIC 모형의 추천값을 적용하였다. 토심의 경우 (1) 유효토심을 적용하는 경우, (2) 토양층 연직 구조 특성을 반영하여 유효토심의 1.5배를 적용하는 경우 및 (3) 유효토심의 1.25배를 가정한 토심을 적용하는 경우, (4) 유효토심의 2.0배를 가정한 토심을 적용하는 경우 총 4가지를 고려하였다. 본 연구는 한강 유역의 충주댐 유역 및 소양강댐 유역을 대상으로 1983년에서 2020년까지의 기간에 대해 모의를 수행하였다. 연구 결과, 토심 대신 유효 토심을 적용하는 경우 직접유출과 기저유출에는 정반대의 영향을 미치며, 직접유출에는 3% 이상의 증가, 기저유출에는 동일 규모의 감소가 발생하는 것을 확인하였다. 추가로 충주댐과 소양강댐 유역의 유효토심 추정에 있어 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것은 암석노출지의 비중으로 나타났으며, 그 영향으로 두 유역의 직접유출률과 기저유출률의 차이가 크게 다른 것으로 확인할 수 있었다.

이앙시기 및 담수심 변화에 따른 논벼 수요량 변화 분석 (Analysis of Variance of Paddy Water Demand Depending on Rice Transplanting Period and Ponding Depth)

  • This study evaluated variations in the paddy rice water demand based on the continuous changing in rice transplanting period and ponding depth at the four study paddy fields, which represent typical rice producing regions in Korea. Total 7 scenarios on rice transplanting periods were applied while minimum ponding depth of 0 and 20 mm were applied in accordance with maximum ponding depth ranging from 40 mm to 100 mm with 20 mm interval. The weather data from 2013 to 2019 was also considered. The results indicated that the highest rice water demand occurred at high temperature and low rainfall region. Increased rice transplanting periods showed higher rice water demand. The rice water demand for 51 transplanting days closely matched with the actual irrigation water supply. In case of ponding depth, the results showed that the minimum ponding depth had a proportional relationship with rice water demand, while maximum ponding depth showed the contrary results. Minimum ponding depth had a greater impact on rice water demand than the maximum ponding depth. Therefore, these results suggest that increasing the rice transplanting period, which reflects the current practice is desirable for a reliable estimation of rice water demand.

Application of In Situ Measurement for Site Remediation and Final Status Survey of Decommissioning KRR Site

  • Background: In situ gamma spectrometry has been used to measure environmental radiation, assumptions are usually made about the depth distribution of the radionuclides of interest in the soil. The main limitation of in situ gamma spectrometry lies in determining the depth distribution of radionuclides. The objective of this study is to develop a method for subsurface characterization by in situ measurement. Materials and Methods: The peak to valley method based on the ratio of counting rate between the photoelectric peak and Compton region was applied to identify the depth distribution. The peak to valley method could be applied to establish the relation between the spectrally derived coefficients (Q) with relaxation mass per unit area (${\beta}$) for various depth distribution in soil. The in situ measurement results were verified by MCNP simulation and calculated correlation equation. In order to compare the depth distributions and contamination levels in decommissioning KRR site, in situ measurement and sampling results were compared. Results and Discussion: The in situ measurement results and MCNP simulation results show a good correlation for laboratory measurement. The simulation relationship between Q and source burial for the source layers have exponential relationship for a variety depth distributions. We applied the peak to valley method to contaminated decommissioning KRR site to determine a depth distribution and initial activity without sampling. The observed results has a good correlation, relative error between in situ measurement with sampling result is around 7% for depth distribution and 4% for initial activity. Conclusion: In this study, the vertical activity distribution and initial activity of $^{137}Cs$ could be identifying directly through in situ measurement. Therefore, the peak to valley method demonstrated good potential for assessment of the residual radioactivity for site remediation in decommissioning and contaminated site.

  • Let G be a connected graph of n vertices. The problem of finding a depth-first spanning tree of G is to find a connected subgraph of G with the n vertices and n-1 edges by depth-first-search. in this paper we propose an O(n) time algorithm to solve this problem on permutation graphs.

Enhancing Depth Accuracy on the Region of Interest in a Scene for Depth Image Based Rendering

  • This research proposed the domain division depth map quantization for multiview intermediate image generation using Depth Image-Based Rendering (DIBR). This technique used per-pixel depth quantization according to the percentage of depth bits assigned in domains of depth range. A comparative experiment was conducted to investigate the potential benefits of the proposed method against the linear depth quantization on DIBR multiview intermediate image generation. The experiment evaluated three quantization methods with computer-generated 3D scenes, which consisted of various scene complexities and backgrounds, under varying the depth resolution. The results showed that the proposed domain division depth quantization method outperformed the linear method on the 7- bit or lower depth map, especially in the scene with the large object.

고분자 전해질 연료전지 양극 작동 환경에서 실험 시간 및 작동 전압 변수에 따른 316L 스테인리스강의 전기화학적 특성과 손상 거동 (Electrochemical Characteristics and Damage Behavior in Cathode Operating Conditions of 316L Stainless Steel with Test Time and Applied Potential in Metallic Bipolar Plates for PEMFC)

  • In this investigation, electrochemical characteristics and damage behavior of 316L stainless steel polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell(PEMFC) were analyzed by potentiodynamic and potentiostatic tests in cathode operating condition of PEMFC. As the result of potentiodynamic polarization test, range of passive region was larger than range of active region. In the result of potentiostatic test, damage depth and width, pit volume, and surface roughness were increased 1.57, 1.27, 2.48, and 1.34 times, respectively, at 1.2 V compared to 0.6 V at 24 hours. Also, as a result of linear regression analysis of damage depth and width graph, trend lines of damage depth and width according to applied potentials were 16.6 and 14.3 times larger, respectively. This demonstrated that applied potential had a greater effect on pitting damage depth of 316L stainless steel. The damage tendency values were 0.329 at 6 hours and 0.633 at 24 hours with applied potentials, representing rapid growth in depth direction according to the test times and applied potentials. Scanning electron microscopy images revealed that surface of specimen exhibited clear pitting damage with test times and applied potentials, which was thought to be because a stable oxide film was formed by Cr and Mo.

3D센서의 Depth frame 데이터를 이용한 이동물체 감지 (Detection of Moving Objects using Depth Frame Data of 3D Sensor)

  • 외부 광원여부에 상관없이 3D정보를 수신할 수 있는 Microsoft의 3D 모션 센서인 키넥트의 Depth frame을 사용하여 물체의 움직임 영역을 감지할 수 있는 방법을 연구하였다. 센서로부터 수신되는 Depth 정보 중 주로 물체의 경계면에 존재하는 노이즈를 제거하기 위해 픽셀의 x, y좌표에 대한 블러링 기법과 z좌표에 대한 주파수 필터를 적용하였다. 또한 인접 픽셀들의 변화량에 따른 군집화 필터를 적용함으로서 움직이는 물체 영역을 추출할 수 있었고 필터 설정에 따라 기준이상의 빠른 움직임을 감지할 수 있도록 하여 이동형 로봇에 응용할 수 있도록 하였다. 특히 IR 카메라에 의하여 만들어지는 Depth frame을 이용함으로써 주야간 모두 제약 없이 사용할 수 있다. 또한 직진 방향으로 움직이는 물체에 대해서도 입체적으로 감지할 수 있어 무인 로봇영역에 응용할 수 있다.
