광학 선형 패터네이터를 이용한 고압 환경 하에서의 분무 측정 (Spray Measurement Using Optical Line Patternator at High Ambient Pressure)

  • Optical Line Patternator(OLP) has been applied to get a distribution of the spray at high ambient pressure. OLP is a combined technique of extinction measurement and image processing. The attenuated intensity of laser beam after traversing spray region was measured by using a photo-detector, and the line image of Mie-scattering was captured simultaneously in the path of each laser beam by using a CCD camera. The distribution of extinction coefficient in the spray is obtained by processing these data with the algebraic reconstruction technique. From the distribution of extinction coefficient, the surface distribution of spray can be reconstructed. OLP does not use laser sheet but use laser beam so that the noise effect of multiple scattering, caused by increasing number density of droplet in high pressure environment, is reduced drastically. OLP is expected as a suitable method which can investigate the characteristics of relatively large spray under the high pressure environment such as liquid rocket engine.

  • In this paper, we propose a pose estimation method using local map acquired from 2d laser range finder information. The proposed method uses extended kalman filter. The state equation is a navigation system equation of Nomad Super Scout II. The measurement equation is a map-based measurement equation using a SICK PLS 101-112 sensor. We describe a map consisting of geometric features such as plane, edge and corner. For pose estimation we scan external environments by laser rage finer. And then these data are fed to kalman filter to estimate robot pose and position. The proposed method enables very fast simultaneous map building and pose estimation.

  • Generally, for the burrs formed in machining are irregular and very sharp in shape, it is usually very difficult to measure burr accurately. But, it is proved that precision measurement for micro burr using the conoprobe sensor by conoscopic holography method is possible. We developed 3D burr measurement system using this sensor. The system is composed of Conoscopic laser Sensor, X-Y table, controller and 3D measurement program. Some measurements using the developed system are applied to burrs formed in micro drilling and piercing.

  • 비파괴 평가 기술들 중의 하나인 레이저 초음파 응용 기술은 각종 구조물에 존재하는 표면결함에 의한 신호를 통해 건전성을 평가하는 기법이다. 따라서 결함의 신뢰성 높은 정량적 평가를 위해서는 결함으로부터의 레이저 초음파 신호특성에 대한 기본적 이해가 필수적이며 따라서 이를 위한 신호해석 연구가 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 레이저유도 초음파에 의한 one-sided 기법을 이용하여 표면균열을 평가하고자 하였다. 하지만 레이저를 이용한 평가방법들은 수신된 신호의 해석이 까다로우며 또한 상당한 전문적인 지식이 요구된다. 웨이블렛 변환(wavelet transform, WT) 기법은 신호처리 분야에서 하나의 새로운 방법으로서 다양한 분야에 적용되고 있으며 특히 한 시점에 대한 주파수 분해가 가능한 신호처리 방법으로서 시간-주파수 분석에 아주 유용하게 이용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 레이저 유도 초음파를 이용하여 재료의 표면 결함신호들에 대한 웨이블렛 변환기법을 적용하여 보다 정량적인 결함 크기를 예측하고 그 타당성을 평가하고자 하였다.

  • The technique of laser sheet beam has been applied to optically accessible diesel engine for the quantitative measurement of soot. The results provide the information for us for reduction of soot in diesel engine. We used both LIS nad LII techniques simultaneously in this study. LIS and LII images show the quantitative distribution of the soot concentration in an optically accessible diesel engine. In this study, several results were obtained by the simultaneous measurement of LIS and LII technique. The diameter and number density of soot in combustion chamber of the test engine were obtained from ATDC 20$^{\circ}$ to 110$^{\circ}$ . The increase rate of soot diameter was about 40$^{\circ}$ between ATDC 20$^{\circ}$and 110$^{\circ}$. And the number density of soot decreased significantly between ATDC 20$^{\circ}$and 40$^{\circ}$.

PLD 기법으로 성장된 n형 TiO2에서 Nb 도너의 활성화 에너지 (The activation Energy of the Niobium donor in n-type TiO2 film grown by Pulsed Laser Deposition)

  • 본 연구에서는 $TiO_2$에 나이오븀 (Nb) 도펀트가 주입되었을 때의 활성화 에너지를 홀 효과 측정 시스템과 온도에 따른 photoluminescence (PL) 실험을 통하여 살펴보았다. Nb 이 도핑 된 n형 아나타제 $TiO_2$ 박막은 pulsed laser deposition (PLD) 기법으로 $SrTiO_3$기판에 성장되었다. 측정 결과, Nb 도너의 활성화 에너지 값은 홀 효과 측정에서는 14.52 meV, PL 측정에서는 6.72 meV로 다소 차이를 보였다. 이 결과는 기존의 어셉터 물질의 활성화 에너지들과는 차이를 나타내고 있으며, 향후 본 연구와 같은 shallow 도너 준위의 활성화 에너지 연구에 대한 더 많은 연구가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

Characteristics of Relative Navigation Algorithms Using Laser Measurements and Laser-GPS Combined Measurements

  • This paper presents a satellite relative navigation strategy for formation flying, which chooses an appropriate navigation algorithm according to the operating environment. Not only global positioning system (GPS) measurements, but laser measurements can also be utilized to determine the relative positions of satellites. Laser data is used solely or together with GPS measurements. Numerical simulations were conducted to compare the relative navigation algorithm using only laser data and laser data combined with GPS data. If an accurate direction of laser pointing is estimated, the relative position of satellites can be determined using only laser measurements. If not, the combined algorithm has better performance, and is irrelevant to the precision of the relative angle data between two satellites in spherical coordinates. Within 10 km relative distance between satellites, relative navigation using double difference GPS data makes more precise relative position estimation results. If the simulation results are applied to the relative navigation strategy, the proper algorithm can be chosen, and the relative position of satellites can be estimated precisely in changing mission environments.

다각 주사법을 이용한 비대칭 매연분포의 재구성 (Tomographic Reconstruction of Asymmetric Soot Structure from Multi-angular Scanning)

  • A convolution algorithm combined with Fourier transformation has been applied to the tomographic reconstruction of asymmetric soot structure to identify the local soot volume fraction distribution. Line-of-sight integrated data from light extinction measurement with multi-angular scanning formed basic information for the deconvolution. Multi-peak following interpolation technique was applied to obtain the effect of increasing number of scanning angles. Height-by-height reconstructed soot volume fraction distribution was compared with laser-induced incandescence signals.

Compensation of Installation Errors in a Laser Vision System and Dimensional Inspection of Automobile Chassis

  • Laser vision inspection systems are becoming popular for automated inspection of manufactured components. The performance of such systems can be enhanced by improving accuracy of the hardware and robustness of the software used in the system. This paper presents a new approach for enhancing the capability of a laser vision system by applying hardware compensation and using efficient analysis software. A 3D geometrical model is developed to study and compensate for possible distortions in installation of gantry robot on which the vision system is mounted. Appropriate compensation is applied to the inspection data obtained from the laser vision system based on the parameters in 3D model. The present laser vision system is used for dimensional inspection of car chassis sub frame and lower arm assembly module. An algorithm based on simplex search techniques is used for analyzing the compensated inspection data. The details of 3D model, parameters used for compensation and the measurement data obtained from the system are presented in this paper. The details of search algorithm used for analyzing the measurement data and the results obtained are also presented in the paper. It is observed from the results that, by applying compensation and using appropriate algorithms for analyzing, the error in evaluation of the inspection data can be significantly minimized, thus reducing the risk of rejecting good parts.
