Background : Low level laser therapy may be an effective method to protect tissue damage in acute stroke. Recently, series of clinical studies on the basis of animal experiments report efficacy and safety of laser therapy at early stages of acute stroke. Laser promotes mitochondrial ATP synthesis to reduce cell death by ischemic infarction. Objectives : To report possibility of non-invasive laser therapy for acute stroke by reviewing literature about its effectiveness, safety and mechanism. Methods : We searched papers using PubMed and 'Web of Knowledge' of Thomson ISI, using the keywords "Laser Therapy, Low-Level" and "Stroke". Limitations were last 10 years of publications and only in English. Search range includes RCTs, clinical reports, reviews and animal experiments. Papers not matched with inclusion criteria were excluded. Results : A total 223 studies were found, 203 excluded during title and extract screening. After scanning 20 papers the final 2 serial RCTs were selected and analyzed. They reported that transcranial laser therapy led in neuroprotective effect for acute stroke patents. Clinical evaluation factors showed favorable trend and initial safety. Conclusions : Non-invasive laser secured safety of clinical application. It may be a favorable choice for the acute stage of stroke.

Roofers get exposed to increased risk of knee musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) at different phases of a sloped shingle installation task. As different phases are associated with different risk levels, this study explored the application of machine learning for automated classification of seven phases in a shingle installation task using knee kinematics and roof slope information. An optical motion capture system was used to collect knee kinematics data from nine subjects who mimicked shingle installation on a slope-adjustable wooden platform. Four features were used in building a phase classification model. They were three knee joint rotation angles (i.e., flexion, abduction-adduction, and internal-external rotation) of the subjects, and the roof slope at which they operated. Three ensemble machine learning algorithms (i.e., random forests, decision trees, and k-nearest neighbors) were used for training and prediction. The simulations indicate that the k-nearest neighbor classifier provided the best performance, with an overall accuracy of 92.62%, demonstrating the considerable potential of machine learning methods in detecting shingle installation phases from workers knee joint rotation and roof slope information. This knowledge, with further investigation, may facilitate knee MSD risk identification among roofers and intervention development.

KC-100 is a 4 seats, single piston engine, civil aircraft whose type certificate is applied for KAS 23 (FAR 23) for the first time in Korea. Its system safety assessment and analysis have been conducted to meet the minimum safety requirement in KAS 23 and to verify the safety of equipment, system, and installation in accordance with the requirement of ${\S}$23.1309 and the guidelines in FAA AC 23.1309-1D and SAE ARP 4761. This safety assessment begins with the FHA (Functional Hazard Assessment) at aircraft and system level in preliminary design phase, and all of the safety assessment and analysis reports including the preliminary version of SSA (System Safety Assessment) have been prepared during detail design phase. The revised version of these safety reports will be approved by Airworthiness Authority through the ground and flight test phases. In this paper, the safety assessment requirement in ${\S}$23.1309, safety assessment guideline in AC 23.1309-1D, and safety assessment and analysis methods in ARP 4761 will be explained based on the application example for KC-100 development. The experience and knowledge of this system safety assessment for civil aircraft can be applied to commuter aircraft of FAR 23 class or large transport airplane of FAR 25 class.
Greeting the globalization and information period of 21C, the improvement of the distributional system structure and modernization of publishing distribution are the seriously required periodic assignments for the publishing industry that is a national knowledge and culture industry to be equipped with the core competitiveness. First, it is to found a large distributional organization that is able to provide total logistics services in time that is essential to the publishing company and bookstore. Second, it is to have a logistics service to act up to the variable requirements of customers such as publishing companies and bookstores under the rapidly changing distribution environment. Third, it is to provide the standardized information of publishing distribution. It is needed to establish a total distributional center in collaboration to satisfy the requirements of publishing industry as above. By doing this work, structure of the publishing distribution system can be improved and its constitution can be strengthen, and it is possible not only to construct a stable supply system but also to realize an information-based system in the publishing industry with the construction of information system and its utilization. Furthermore, the application of RFID in the publishing distribution is essentially required to provide the symbolic model and logistics infrastructure into the 'Paju publishing culture information industrial complex'. It could be possible by growing the international recognition regarding distribution environment and strengthening the international competitiveness in the period of the ""Open door".
This study examined sanitary education and performance of sanitary management among employees related to cooking in school food services in Sejong. A total of 193 subjects (19.2% for kindergarten, 42.5% for elementary school, and 38.3% for middle and high school) participated in this questionnaire survey. The frequency of sanitary education was highest at 63.7% once a month, and it was higher in the order of middle and high school, elementary school, and kindergarten (P<0.001). The most important contents of sanitary education were personal sanitary management (43.5%), food material management (25.9%), and sanitary and safety management of equipment and utensils (17.6%). The necessity of sanitary education recognized by the subjects was absolutely necessary at 69.9% and necessary at 28.0%. The application of knowledge from sanitary education is high in proper application at 50.8% and absolute application at 40.4%. The improvement effect after sanitary education was higher in kindergarten than in elementary school and middle and high school (P<0.01). The performance of sanitary management was high at 4.7 out of 5. In particular, personal sanitary management was the highest in elementary school at 4.8 followed in order by middle and high school (4.7) and kindergarten (4.6) (P<0.01). The necessity of sanitary education and the application of knowledge obtained from sanitary education to the food service showed a significant and positive correlation with the sanitary management performance (P<0.05, P<0.001). These results highlight that the need for customized sanitary education for institution types and an awareness of sanitary education by employees will enhance sanitary management in school food service.
This paper proposes the application of fuzzy control for high performance control of induction motor using electric vehicles. A fuzzy controller converts a set of liguistic rules based on expert knowledge into a automatic control strategy. Such controllers have often been found superior to conventional controllers especially when information being processed is inexact and uncertain. A system with fast torque response is very beneficial in applications where direct self control (DSC) is highly desirable. The response of DSC is slower during startup and during change in command torque. Fuzzy control is used for implementation of DSC to improve its slow response. Simulation implementation of the fuzzy logic controller was carried out to verify the behavior of the controller. The simulation results with fuzzy control are compared with those of the conventional DSC. The starting flux and torque response and the responses to the step changes in command torque with fuzzy implementation show a considerable improvement over the conventional control. The steady state responses in both the cases are the same.
This paper presents a study on application of expert system technique for the diagnosis of fire-causes in plants. A need is recognized for new methods to diagnose exactly the causes of fires without the help of the human experts. To cope with the difficulty, the expert system techiuque is applied to this area. The expert system suggested in this paper is developed to infer the causes of fires(or, ignition source ) by using the information drawn from the circumstances in fire. For the convenience of inference, ignition sources we classified into eight types ; elecoic spark, adiabatic compression, welding spark, material of high temperature, impact and friction, spontaneous ignition, naked fire, and static electricity. The knowledge base is composed of the rule base and dynamic database, which contain the rules and facts obtained by the expenence in this area, respectively. Both depth-first search and backward chaining schemes are used in reasoning process. This expert system is written in an artificial intelligence language "PROLOG", and its availability is demonstrated through the case study.
This paper presents a study on fuzzy speed and flux controller used in a vector control of a CRPWM(Current Ragulated PWM) induction motor drive. In this paper, an approach for an easier design of the fuzzy controller is presented in order to obtain the desired value for the response time with minimal overshoot and to improve the steady state performance for speed step commands. The fuzzy controller is constructed only upon the knowledge of the motor behaviour and the desired speed response, and provides fast and robust control by reducing the effects of nonlinearities, parameter changes and load disturbance. The results of applying the fuzzy logic controller to an IM drive system are compared with those obtained by application of a conventional PI controller. The fuzzy controller provided a better response than the PI controller.
Community-based disaster preparedness approaches are increasingly important elements of vulnerability reduction and disaster strategies. They are associated with a policy trend that values the knowledge and capacities of local people. In this research, we describe the community diagnosis method and develop Flood Disaster Risk Reduction Index(FDRRI) for assessment of flood vulnerability. FDRRI is composed of four indicators such as Flood Exposure Indicator(FEI), Sensitivity Indicator(SI), Risk Reduction Indicator(RRI), and Community Preparedness Indicator(CPI). We anticipate to present the guideline for selection national preparedness projects and uplift community's preparedness capacity.
The recent development of new surgical techniques using lasers has increased the opportunities for open surgery involving minimal manipulation and faster and more accurate removal of lesions. The increasing use of laser technology requires nurses to play an extensive role. As assistants, nurses play an important role in maintaining the efficacy and safety of the laser device. In addition, they are also responsible for providing pre-and post-operative care to patients. Therefore, nurses should be aware of how to proceed with operative laser treatment for all surgical procedures and the steps for maintaining safety prior to, during, and after laser treatment. This review provides in-depth knowledge for nurses undertaking continuing education on lasers and patient care in the field of gynecology.
