Application of Parameters-Free Adaptive Clonal Selection in Optimization of Construction Site Utilization Planning

  • The Clonal Selection Algorithm (CSA) is an algorithm inspired by the human immune system mechanism. In CSA, several parameters needs to be optimized by large amount of sensitivity analysis for the optimal results. They limit the accuracy of the results due to the uncertainty and subjectivity. Adaptive Clonal Selection (ACS), a modified version of CSA, is developed as an algorithm without controls by pre-defined parameters in terms of selection process and mutation strength. In this paper, we discuss the ACS in detail and present its implementation in construction site utilization planning (CSUP). When applied to a developed model published in research literature, it proves that the ACS are capable of searching the optimal layout of temporary facilities on construction site based on the result of objective function, especially when the parameterization process is considered. Although the ACS still needs some improvements, obtaining a promising result when working on a same case study computed by Genetic Algorithm and Electimze algorithm prove its potential in solving more complex construction optimization problems in the future.

비정규분포를 이용한 표본선택 모형 추정: 자동차 보유와 유지비용에 관한 실증분석 (An Alternative Parametric Estimation of Sample Selection Model: An Application to Car Ownership and Car Expense)

  • 표본선택 모형을 최우추정법으로 추정할 때 오차항의 분포를 제대로 가정하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 표본선택 모형의 선택 방정식과 본 방정식의 오차항 분포를 일반적으로 이변량 정규분포로 가정하지만, 이 가정이 오차항의 실제 분포를 과도하게 제약할 가능성이 있다. 본 연구는 표본선택 모형의 오차항 분포로 $S_U$-정규분포를 도입한다. $S_U$-정규분포는 분포의 비대칭성과 초과첨도를 허용한다는 측면에서 정규분포보다 훨씬 유연하면서, 동시에 정규분포를 극한분포의 형태로 포함하고 있다. 또한 정규분포처럼 다변량 분포함수가 존재하기 때문에 표본선택 모형과 같은 다변량 모형에서도 활용할 수 있다. 본 논문은 $S_U$-정규분포를 이용한 표본선택 모형에서 로그우도 함수와 조건부 기댓값을 도출하고, 시뮬레이션을 통해 정규분포 모형과 추정성과를 비교한다. 또한 자동차 보유 가구들의 자동차 유지비에 관한 실제 데이터를 이용하여 $S_U$-정규분포 표본선택 모형의 추정결과를 제시한다.

Identifying Copy Number Variants under Selection in Geographically Structured Populations Based on F-statistics

  • Large-scale copy number variants (CNVs) in the human provide the raw material for delineating population differences, as natural selection may have affected at least some of the CNVs thus far discovered. Although the examination of relatively large numbers of specific ethnic groups has recently started in regard to inter-ethnic group differences in CNVs, identifying and understanding particular instances of natural selection have not been performed. The traditional $F_{ST}$ measure, obtained from differences in allele frequencies between populations, has been used to identify CNVs loci subject to geographically varying selection. Here, we review advances and the application of multinomial-Dirichlet likelihood methods of inference for identifying genome regions that have been subject to natural selection with the $F_{ST}$ estimates. The contents of presentation are not new; however, this review clarifies how the application of the methods to CNV data, which remains largely unexplored, is possible. A hierarchical Bayesian method, which is implemented via Markov Chain Monte Carlo, estimates locus-specific $F_{ST}$ and can identify outlying CNVs loci with large values of FST. By applying this Bayesian method to the publicly available CNV data, we identified the CNV loci that show signals of natural selection, which may elucidate the genetic basis of human disease and diversity.

  • 소비자를 파악하기 위해 활용되고 있는 사용자 중심 데이터 중 사용자 리뷰 데이터는 다량으로 상세하게 소비자의 의견을 파악할 수 있다는 장점으로 인해 주목받고 있으며 많은 소비자들이 사용자 리뷰에 의존하고 신뢰하고 있다. 많은 어플리케이션 개발사들은 중요성을 인지하고 사용자 리뷰를 관찰 및 대응하고 있지만 체계적인 방법의 부재로 고객의 만족과 관계없이 시간과 비용을 투자하고 있다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 주어진 시간과 비용에서 고객의 만족을 최대화 시킬 수 있도록 고객 만족과 서비스 품질을 다루는 카노 모델을 이용하여 어플리케이션 마켓에서 사용자 리뷰들을 선별하는 체계적인 방법을 제안하였다. 본 방법은 어플리케이션 마켓에서 사용자 리뷰들을 수집하고 요구사항을 도출하는 사용자 리뷰 수집 및 요구사항 도출 단계, 도출된 요구사항에 카노 모델을 적용하고 품질 유형으로 선별하는 카노 모델 적용 및 선별 단계, 그리고 관련자들이 모여 내부적인 측면에서 요구사항 검토 및 재정의하는 이해관계자들과 검토 및 재정의 단계로 구성되었다.

  • Parallel Genetic Algorithms (GAs) are developed to solve a single machine n-job scheduling problem which is to minimize the sum of absolute deviations of completion times from a common due date. (0, 1) binary scheme is employed to represent the n-job schedule. Two selection methods, best individual selection and simple selection are examined. The effect of crossover operator, due date adjustment mutation and due date adjustment reordering are discussed. The performance of the parallel genetic algorithm is illustrated with some example problems.

  • 본 연구는 국방획득사업에 있어서 무기체계 기종결정간 현 규정상의 문제점을 분석하고 객관성과 공정성을 확보할 수 있는 몇 가지 기법을 제안하고 있다. 헬기 가종결정 문제를 적용 사례로 제시하였으며 AHP, PROMETHEE, 요소변환 등의 기법적용과 장 단점 분석을 통하여 비교분석 하였다. 모든 상황에서 모든 조건을 만족하는 의사결정 기법은 사실상 존재하지 않는다. 따라서 무기체계 기종결정시 평가항목의 유형에 따라 적합한 의사결정 기법을 적용함으로써 객관성을 유지할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Application of MCDM methods to Qualified Personnel Selection in Distribution Science: Case of Logistics Companies

  • Purpose: This study aims to propose an integrated MCDM model to support the qualified personnel selection in the distribution science. Research design, data, and methodology: The integrated approach of AHP and TOPSIS was employed to address the personnel selection problem. The AHP method was used to define the weights of the selection criteria, whereas the TOPSIS was applied to rank alternatives. The proposed model was then applied into a leading logistics company to select the best alternatives to be the sales deputy manager. Results: The results showed that Candidate 3 is the most qualified personnel for the sales deputy manager position as he is ranked first in the order of preference for recruitment. Conclusions: The proposed model provides the decision makers with more effective and time-saving methods than conventional ones. Therefore, the model can be applied to personnel selection around the world. In terms of theoretical contribution, this study proposes a personnel selection model for choosing the most appropriate candidates. In addition, the study adds to the theory of human resources management and logistics management the full set of personnel selection criteria including education, experience, skills, health, personality traits and foreign language.

초등 수학영재의 도전적 문제 상황을 위한 원용삼방호구(圓容三方互求)의 활용 (Application of '圓容三方互求' as a Mathematically Challenging Problem for Mathematically Gifted Elementary Students)

  • This study focused on the selection and application of mathematical problems to provide mathematically challenging tasks for the gifted elementary students. For the selection, a mathematical problem from <算術管見> of Joseon dynasty, '圓容三方互求', was selected, considering the participants' experiences of problem solving and the variety of approaches to the problem. For the application, teaching strategies such as individual problem solving and sharing of the solving methods were used. The problem was provided for 13 mathematically gifted elementary students. They not only solved it individually but also shared their approaches by presentations. Their solving and sharing processes were observed and their results were analyzed. Based on this, some didactical considerations were suggested.

  • Companies adopted a program called Six Sigma, in order to make fundamental changes in the way the company operated to fulfill customers' expectations. Six Sigma reduces the occurrence of defects. This approach derives the overall process of selection the right projects based on their potential to improve performance metrics and selection and training the right people to get the business results. However, in the course of Six Sigma process steps, companies are in the face of problems. This study is to solve the problems using TOC(Theory of Constrains). TOC is methodology for solving key problem in system which is called Constraints. Nowadays, its application is going to be wide and its concept is being implemented. In this paper, it is showed possibility of application TOC to Six Sigma.

원격탐사 위성영상에 의한 최적철도 노선선정 및 설계방안 (A study on the optimum route selection and design method by remote sensing satellite images)

  • Recently remote sensing technology is applied for construction projects planning and design areas by use of high resolution satellite images according to engineering application technology in the various experimental tasks. In this study, It was applied for optimum route selection methods and basic design by comparing to present railway and new expand dual railway route on the new construction plan path of 20 km at national railway lines, and then showed 3-dimensional images and fly simulation images to possibility for various application as low cost and short time compare to airplane and helicopters survey methods. As a results of its applied, It gained the results not only improvement of present methods but also real various application possibilities.
