일 간호대학 통합교육과정의 교육성과 평가 (A Study for the Evaluation of the Educational Outcome of Applied Integrated Curriculum in a Nursing College)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the educational outcome of applied integrated curriculum in a nursing college. In order to evaluate the educational outcome students' ability was surveyed for the four main elements of the curriculum. Four main elements were ability in application of nursing process, communication skill, critical thinking disposition, and competence in nursing profession. Method: The subjects were 97 nursing students who had been educated by the integrated curriculum for 4 years. Data were collected using self-report questionnaire on Dec. 6, 2006, and analyzed by using ANOVA, t-test, and pearson correlation coefficient. Result: The mean score of ability in application of nursing process was 3.78/5.00, communication skill was 3.98/5.00, critical thinking disposition was 3.73/5.00, and competence in nursing profession was 4.04/5.00. There was a significant correlation between four main elements of the curriculum. There was a significant difference in students' level of ability according to subjects' evaluation to the curriculum. Conclusion: The study results suggested that review and supplementation of the integrated curriculum. And further study on the educational outcome in order to upgrade the curriculum are needed.

Immediate Effects of Elastic Taping on Ankle on Balance in the Elderly

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to observe the immediate effects of elastic taping and isometric exercises on balance ability in the elderly. Research design, data and methodology: 15 elderlies were participated in this study and randomly assigned into two group. The intervention group was applied elastic taping on ankle joint while the control group performed isometric ankle exercise in three sets for 30 seconds per set. Anterior-posterior and medial-lateral postural sway speed were measured after the experiment. To compare the change in balance ability between groups after the experiment, independent t-test was used. To investigate the change in balance ability between pre- and post-experiment within the groups, paired t-test was used. Results: A significant difference in medial-lateral postural sway speed was found after elastic taping application only in the intervention group (p>0.05). However, there was no significant difference between the groups. Conclusions: In conclusion, this finding supported that elastic taping would be helpful to support ankle stability and increase balance ability for the elderly as well as performance for sports athlete that was demonstrated in previous studies. Further studies will be necessary to confirm the long-term effects of elastic taping application on motor control and the risk of falling.

간호관리학 임상실습에서 협력학습이 메타인지 수준에 따라 문제해결과정에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Collaborative Learning on Problem-solving Processes according to the Level of Metacognition in Clinical Practice of Nursing Management)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to find the effect of collaborative learning on problem-solving processes according to the level of metacognition, after adopting collaborative learning to clinical practice of nursing management. Method: Senior college students participated in this study. 90 students who was involveled in high level metacognitive group and another 88 students in low level metacognitive group. The data was collected from 2003 to 2005. The process of collaborative learning was categorised in 4 steps. The data were analyzed using t-test, ANCOVA, paired t-test. Results: 'There will be a distinction between the low and high metacognition groups after application of collaborative learning' was rejected. 'In the high level metacognitive group, the problem-solving ability will also increase after application of collaborative learning than before application' was supported. 'In the low level metacognitive group, the problem-solving ability will increase after application of collaborative learning than before application' was supported. Conclusion: The results showed that with collaborative learning, the problem-solving ability of learners with different levels of metacognition is improved.

초등 과학영재교육에서 코티칭 과학수업이 학생들의 개념 적용 능력과 수업에 대한 인식에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Coteaching Science Instruction in Elementary Science-Gifted Education upon Students' Concept Application Ability and Perception of the Instruction)

  • 이 연구에서는 초등 과학영재교육에서 코티칭 과학수업의 효과를 개념 적용 능력과 수업에 대한 인식 측면에서 조사했다. 2개 초등학교의 2개 과학영재학급에 소속된 5학년 학생 37명을 선정하여 각각 통제 집단(n=19)과 코티칭 수업 집단(n=18)으로 배치했다. 코티칭 수업 집단에서는 두 명의 교사가 12차시의 초등 과학영재수업을 함께 준비, 실행, 평가했고, 통제 집단에서는 코티칭 수업 집단과 동일한 프로그램을 사용하여 한 명의 교사가 과학영재수업을 준비, 진행, 평가했다. 모든 수업이 끝난 후, 두 집단 학생들에게 모두 개념 적용 능력 검사를 실시했고, 코티칭 수업 집단의 모든 학생들에게는 코티칭 과학수업에 대한 인식 검사를 실시한 후 이에 대한 심층 면담도 실시했다. 연구 결과, 통제 집단보다 코티칭 수업 집단의 개념 적용 능력 검사 점수가 통계적으로 유의미한 차이로 높았다. 코티칭 수업 집단의 많은 과학영재학생들이 코티칭 과학수업에 대해 언어적 상호작용, 수업 운영, 인지적, 정의적 측면에서 긍정적으로 인식했으나, 일부 학생들은 몇 가지 단점을 지적하기도 했다. 이에 대한 교육적 함의를 논했다.

A Study on Factors Affecting Work Ability in Korean Workers

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate Korean workers' work ability and to identify its contributing factors. Background: In order for Korea to overcome the phenomena of becoming an aged society, older adults must participate in the workforce to balance out the population; workers' work ability must also be maintained. In addition, influential factors in employees' capabilities and degrees of importance thereof should be identified in advance to maintain work ability. Method: The Work Ability Index (WAI) questionnaire was completed by 5,708 Korean workers. Survey questionnaire consisted items of current work ability, physical and mental demands of the job, numbers of diseases, work impairment due to diseases, sick leaves, work ability in 2 years and mental resources. Results: Results indicated that work ability and length of service increased with age. It was also found that employees in administrative positions had greater work ability than site workers, workers directly managed by a supervisor had greater work ability than workers in cooperative firms, and workers who performed intellectual tasks had greater work ability than workers who performed physical labor. Job stress was additionally observed to contribute towards overall work ability. And musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) were found to negatively affect work ability. Conclusion: The strongest determining factors in the work ability of Korean workers were stress level and mental state. Therefore, when the WAI is used to assess Korean workers, the weighting of WAI items pertaining to physical and mental abilities should be adjusted accordingly to account for these factors. Application: The result is expected to suggest that workers maintain work ability in an aged society.

백색소음의 적용에 따른 지적장애 아동의 쓰기 능력과 손 기능의 변화에 관한 연구 (A Study about the Changes of the Writing Ability and Hand Function of the Children of Intellectual Disabilities According to the White Noise)

  • 본 연구는 지적장애 아동을 대상으로 백색소음을 적용하여 대상자들의 쓰기 능력과 손 기능의 변화를 분석하여 백색소음의 적용에 따른 지적장애 아동의 쓰기 능력과 손 기능 변화에 대한 기초자료를 제공하고자 수행되었다. 연구대상은 지적장애 아동 12명이며, 백색소음을 적용하여 대상자들의 적용 전, 후 쓰기 능력과 손 기능을 분석하였다. 백색소음의 제공은 백색소음 발생기를 통해 연속적이며, 균일하게 제공하였다. 쓰기 능력의 분석은 KNISE-BAAT(Korea National Institute for Special Education-Basic Academic Achievement Tests) 도구를 활용하여 표기능력, 어휘구사력, 문장구사력을 평가하였다. 손 기능의 분석은 Manual Function Test(MFT) 도구의 세부항목인 Pegboard 항목을 활용하여 분석하였다. 쓰기 능력 분석결과 대상자들의 표기능력과 어휘구사력에서 통계적으로 유의미한 향상이 나타났으며, 문장구사력에서는 향상이 나타나지 않았다. 손 기능 분석결과 양손 모두 통계적으로 유의미한 향상이 나타났다. 따라서, 지적장애 아동들의 저하된 쓰기 능력과 손 기능을 향상시킬 수 있는 보상적 접근방법으로 백색소음의 적용을 고려해야 할 필요가 있다고 판단되며, 지적장애 아동들의 수행수준과 학습수준, 학업성취도를 향상시킬 수 있도록 생활공간 및 학습공간에서 백색소음의 제공을 고려해야 할 것이다.

소셜네트워크를 활용한 프로젝트기반학습(PBL) 적용이 작업치료과 대학생의 문제해결능력에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Project Based Learning(PBL) Application Using Social Networks on Problem Solving Ability of Occupational Therapy Students)

  • 본 연구는 소셜네트워크를 활용한 PBL 수업 적용이 작업치료과 학생들의 문제해결능력을 분석하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 2019년 3월부터 6월까지 K대학교 작업치료과 3학년 재학생 총 35명의 학생을 대상으로 자료를 수집하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 소셜네트워크를 활용한 PBL을 적용하였을 때 문제해결능력의 세부항목에서 문제인식, 분석능력, 의사결정, 기획력, 평가, 피드백 영역에서 향상을 나타냈다. 둘째, 학생들의 일반적인 특성에 따라 학습할 때 모바일 기기 이용 선호도와 전공만족도에 따라 문제하결능력에 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 이러한 연구결과에 따라 작업치료과 재학생들의 문제해결능력을 향상시키기 위한 학습도구로 소셜네트워크를 활용한 PBL을 활성화시켜 학습에 대한 만족도를 높일 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다.

Effects of Floss Bands on Ankle Joint Range of Motion and Balance Ability

  • Background: The range of motion (ROM) and balance ability of the ankle joint affect the stability of the ankle and prevent injuries or hurts from falling. In the clinical tests conducted recently, the floss band is widely used to enhance the range of joint motion and exercise performance, and there are many studies that have applied it to ankle joint increasing dorsi flexion (DF) angle. Objects: This study compared the effects on the range of ankle motion and static/dynamic balance ability of the ankle through three conditions (before floss band intervention, after floss band intervention, and after active exercise intervention) for adults. Methods: One intervention between floss band and active exercise was applied randomly and another intervention was applied the next day. After each intervention, the ROM of the ankle joints and the static balance was checked by measuring conducting one leg test. And the dynamic balance was checked by conducting a Y-balance test. Results: In the case of DF, the range of joint motion showed a significant increase after floss band intervention compared to before floss band intervention (p < 0.05). Static balance ability showed a significant increase after the intervention of floss band and active exercise compared to before the intervention of floss band (p < 0.05). The dynamic balance ability showed a significant increase after the intervention of the floss band compared to before intervention of the floss band and after active exercise intervention (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Based on these results, it was confirmed that the application of floss band to the ankle joint increases DF and improves the static and dynamic balance ability. Based on this fact, we propose the application of a floss band as an intervention method to improve the ROM of the ankle joint and improve the stability of the ankle in clinical field.

통합적 동작활동이 종일제 유아의 기본운동능력 및 신체표현능력에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Integrated Movement on Children's Fundamental and Expressive Movement Ability in All-day Kindergarten)

  • This study investigated the effectiveness of integrated movement on children's fundamental and expressive movement ability in all-day kindergarten. Subjects were 52 children in 2 all-day kindergartens in Daejeon. The Subjects were divided into an experimental and a control group. Integrated movement activities were applied in the experimental group for 7 weeks. Integrated movement activities were focused on the life theme according to the annual and weekly education plan and were composed by integrating both the basic area and the application area of movement. At the end of the training period, differences were found in fundamental and expressive movement ability between the experimental and the control groups.

Immediate Effect of Kinesiology Taping on Gait Function in Stroke Patients with Foot Drop

  • Background: Recently, the kinesiology taping (KT) method was reported to be effective in improving walking ability in foot drop patients after stroke, but the clinical basis is still unclear. Objectives: The KT method was compared with ankle-foot orthotics (AFO) to investigate gait ability in foot drop patients after stroke. Design: Crossover study design. Methods: In this study, 11 stroke patients with foot drop participated. Walking ability of all subjects for both conditions (KT and AFO) was measured using the GAITRite system. The order of application of the two conditions was determined randomly by drawing lots. Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to compare walking ability between the two conditions. The level of statistical significance was set at P<.05. Results: There were no significant differences between the KT and AFO methods in terms of velocity, cadence, step length, and stride length (P>.05, all). Conclusion: This study recommends KT as an alternative to the AFO, since KT provides evidence of preventing of foot drops and improving gait ability in stroke patient.
