  • This report described a simple, inexpensive, faster, and effective graft inoculation method for the artificial transmission of Mungbean yellow mosaic virus (MYMV). Success of grafting and disease transmission was 100% in this method. Screening of mungbean germplasm using this method will prevent the chance of escape infection, probably as a consequence of non-preference mechanism and loss of vector infectivity. The grafting method described here is applicable to both screenhouse and field trials.

  • PRNM(Power Range Neutron Monitoring) of BWR (Boiling Water Reactor) is a system that processes signals from about two hundred LPRM (Local Power Range Monitor) sensors in the nuclear reactor and this system monitors the neutron flux level during the plant operating region. Development has been made by employing a special technique for multiplexing neutron sensor signals and the recent advanced microelectronics technology. It is applicable to the total plant digital control system for a nuclear power plant.

  • During the design phase of a system, which requires high reliability and safety such as aircraft, high speed train and nuclear power plant, reliability engineer must set up the target system reliability. To meet a reliability goal for the system, reliability allocation should be done gradually from the system to its element. For this end, first of all, we need to construct functional block diagram based on the design output and PWBS(Project Work Breakdown System). Another important input data for reliability allocation is the relationship between the cost and the reliability. In this study we investigate various reliability allocation models, which can be applicable to aircraft, vehicle, and power plant, and etc. And we suggest a proper reliability allocation model which can be effectively applicable to KTX-II high speed train to achieve the target system reliability.

  • The antibacterial activity of metallic nanoparticles (NPs), especially silver (Ag), has been investigated during the course of time in various chemical reactions for antibiotics free agents. Green synthesis of metallic NPs using either microorganisms or plant-extracts has appeared as a simple and replacement to chemical and physical methods. The synthesizing of these NPs through ecofriendly methods signifies an exceedingly applicable approach for offering economical, preferring scalability and possessing negligible ecological influences. Essential-oils are among the subordinate metabolites of plants and their antibacterial anti-inflammatory characteristics have been investigated widely and are commonly attained from the aromatic plants. The usage of essential-oils as reducing agents in biosynthesizing of Ag NPs bring together the interaction of a vital antibacterial agent that simplify the nucleation and growth process within the NPs formation. This review article is offering a progressive process of Ag NPs synthesis using essential oils along with proposing the most applicable formation mechanisms and their antibacterial activities.

  • This study is as a part of the new disposal and recycling plans of heat-resource waste of Daegu dyeing, industrial center we tried to examine applicable possibility of crushed thing(waste aggregate) as aggregates for mortar and concrete. To examine applicable possibility of waste aggregate as a lightweight-aggregate for concrete and mortar, we carried this study by mainly property examination of concrete according to replacement ratio of waste aggregate. We carried slump, unit weight, compressive strength and bending strength test according to replacement ratio of waste aggregate. As the result of that, if we use waste aggregate, lightweight of concrete and mortar will be possible. Specially it shows a strength improvement effect of cement hardening according to using this so it is judged that applicable possibility as aggregate for concrete and mortar is very excellent.

  • A rice mill pilot plant was designed and developed in the basis of the simulation results on the mill plants. The performance of the developed rice mill plant was evaluated, and the simulation model on the mill system was validated with the experimental data in the mill plant. The results of this study were as followings : 1. A rice mill pilot plant with the capacity of 0.5 t/h was designed and developed. 2. The hulled ratio of the mill plant was 87.3%, and the milled rice recovery and the head rice recovery of the cleaned rice were 74% and 87% , respectively. The degree of milling of the cleaned rice was 10.6% with a high polish. The intensity of the cleaned rice appeared high compared with that of the milled rice in the analysis of whiteness test using an image processing system. 3. The bottleneck, processing time, and production amount of the developed mill system almost coincided with those of the simulation of the rice mill plant. The developed simulation model of the rice mill plant was proven to be applicable to the design of a rice mill plant through experiments.

  • Condition based maintenance(CBM) for the preventive diagnosis of important equipments related to safety or accident in power plant is essential by using the suitable methods based on actual power plant conditions. To improve the reliability and accuracy of the measured value at the minute leak situation, and also to monitor continuously internal leak condition of power plant valve, the development of a diagnosis and monitoring technique using multi-measuring method should be performed urgently. This study was conducted to estimate the feasibility of multi-measuring method using three different methods such as acoustic emission(AE) method, thermal image measurement and temperature difference$({\Delta}T)$ measurement that are applicable to internal leak diagnosis for the power plant valve. From the experimental results, it was suggested that the multi-measuring method could be an effective way to precisely diagnose and evaluate internal leak situation of valve.

  • Long Term Asset Management(LTAM) means a plan developed by using LCM(Life Cycle Management) process for optimum life cycle management of significant plant assets at each plant across the fleet. As a part of development of LTAM Strategies on nuclear turbines, a method so as to determine the future failure rates for low pressure turbine facilities at a nuclear plant was studied and developed by using both plant specific and industry-wide performance data. INPO's EPIX data were analyzed and some failure rate evaluation values considering preventive maintenance practices were calculated by using EPRI's PM Basis software. As the result, failure rate functions applicable to a priori and a posteriori replacement of low pressure turbines at a nuclear plant were developed and utilized in an assessment of economics of LCM alternatives on the nuclear turbine facilities in the respects of 40-year and 60-year operation bases.
