Maximum Efficiency Operation of Three-Level T-type Inverter for Low-Voltage and Low-Power Home Appliances

  • This paper proposes a maximum efficiency operation strategy for three-level T-type inverter in entire operation areas. The three-level T-type inverter has higher and lower efficiency areas compared with two-level inverter. The proposed strategy aims to operate in the maximum efficiency point for the low-voltage and low-power home appliances. The three-level T-type inverter is analyzed in detail, and the two operation mode selection strategy is developed. The proposed algorithm is verified by theoretical analysis and experimental results.

TV 대기모드 효율기준 개발을 위한 대기전력 실태 분석 (Analysis of TV Standby Power for Development of Energy Efficiency Standard)

  • Recently, there have been suggestions that power factor should be considered to increase the efficiency of electric power supply when evaluating the performance of the electric appliances in standby mode and the related studies have been conducted to improve the efficiency standard of standby power. But, they lack the analysis of the standby power characteristics with the changes of power factor. This study is conducted to analyze the standby power characteristics of TV which is a typical home appliance and reaches a conclusion that the apparent power can be a more reasonable index which reflects the efficiency of electric power supply. It is also found that LED TVs show the best performance in standby mode. Moreover, an example to set standby power standards on TVs to be applied in the future is suggested, considering the energy efficiency policies for appliances.

  • The rapid changes in business environments are also applicable to the delivery service field. Numerous companies are using smart phones in order to perform work of the delivery service field that is rapidly developing every year. Smart phones established ubiquitous work environments where access to the server of the head office is possible through telephones, scanners, and the internet anywhere and anytime. However, although smart appliances including smart phones have been diffused, empirical analysis of use of them in actual has not been attempted much. In this regard, current study empirically analyzes how connectivity and context-awareness function of smart phones based on the TAM(Technology Acceptance Model) influence the continuous intention to use through trust, usefulness, and ease of use. The results indicate that the connectivity and context-awareness function, which are natures of smart phones, had impacts on the ease of use and trust, but not on the usefulness. Based on these results, this study suggests implications and future research directions regarding the planning and realization of smart appliances.

  • This paper presents a implementation of the monitoring program for the analysis of electric consumption characteristics in home appliances, which uses a Labview program from National Instruments Corporation. It is can provide to be easy for small-scale researcher, development groups or individual researcher to analyze electric power consumption characteristics. Also, this paper apply to actual private home and then, analyze result of monitoring and a database result of power quality etc, like the power consumption form, power factor and harmonic which follow season, and time zone. For this measured the apartment where the family which is four lives in the object.

  • The Home network system means that information appliances, Home PCs, etc., using wired or wireless network method enable to control and share with peripheral devices such as internet, shared data, a scanner and a printer, and it is networking solution, which intelligent communication will be possible as the system which can do a remote control such as TV Set, refrigerators, air conditioners, DVD players, digital camcorders based on external network using an internet, a potable information terminal and a mobile phone whenever, wherever and freely. In this study, the home network interface solution is used one of the wired network standards, PLC (Power-Line Communication) technology, so we can construct of intelligent home network's home controller without re-build a network at home. On keeping with current waves of thought, we will focus on a home controller development with great interest which is enabled to do an effective managed control, applying intelligent home network technology which can be new paradigm like a cyber apartment.

  • In this paper, we describe the internet-based remote home automation system that con control and manage home appliances or digital devices bi-directionally through Internet. The platform-independency of VRML and Java applet enables users to access their home appliances and to check current state of them in t he virtual reality environment. The main focus is on three aspects. One is on the virtual reality technology to support the user interface efficiently by using 3D GUI in web-browser. Another is on the system architecture that consists of Home server and its manager server called Gate server in this paper. These servers have been implemented by Java RMI which is the basic single programming interface for distribution of objects and services using Java technology. The third, remote PLC controller and each digital devices are composed of home networking by PLC using CEBus protocol.

압연공정을 이용한 가전용 신 바이메탈재의 개발 (Development of New Bimetal Material for Home Appliances by Using the Rolling Process)

  • The bimetals of home appliances are mainly manufactured by cladding process and these are almost consisted with Cu alloy and Ni alloy. But it is very difficult to clad these alloys, because the brittle $Cu_3O_4$ oxide film formed easily on Cu alloy surface during cladding process. Clad rolling and heat treatment processes were applied for the development of bimetals by using the Ni alloy and the 3 types of Cu alloys. Optical microstructure, micro-hardness, specific resistance, and deflection and line profile of newly processed bimetals specimens were observed and measured in this paper. Inter-diffusion was observed between Cu and Ni element in the interface of heat treated Cu alloy and Ni alloy clad material. The C1220 and Invar36 clad material showed the best property of deflection among the 3 kind of clad materials.

  • In the treatment of functional orthodontic problems, timing is not an issue. All orthodontists start as soon as the condition is recognized. However, there is an active dialogue concerning treatment timing for structure problems. The major points in contention center around the operator's ability is to control the growth of the facial bones and to maintain post-treatment tooth position through the maturation period (especially when this position was gained by techniques involving arch expansion or distal driving of posterior segments). Factors taken into account to determine the best time of orthodontic treatment include diagnosis, interception, growth rate, patient cooperation, eruptive state and treatment period. With those exceptions of all functional problems, mild dental discrepancies and skeletal deficiencies with a predictably excellent growth potential (early treatment), the period immediately following the eruption of the permanent second molars is the period during which most orthodontic treatment should be initiated. At this time the full volume of tooth substances is present, the individual growth pattern in well established, there are sufficient teeth to receive nearly any type of appliances and the patient can easily tolerate the wearing of appliances.
