불산 무수석고와 플라이 애쉬를 첨가한 시멘트 페이스트의 유동성 및 응결특성 (Fluidity and Setting Properties of Cement Paste by Adding of Fluoro Anhydrite and Fly Ash)

  • Four kids of powder admixtures(A, B, C, D) based on anhydrite were manufactured by mixing at a fixed rate of II-anhydrite, fly ash and active silica as an industrial by-product. Fluidity properties of cement paste such as mini-slump, apparent viscosity with elapsed time, as well as setting time of cement pastes of these admixtures substituted up to 11wt% of cement were compared to those of cement paste(SS) substisuted by marketed high-strength powder admixture(S). Among these powder admixtures, the fluidity of cement pastes(PA, PC) substituted by A and C powder admixtures manufactured from II-anhydrite and fly ash had an excellent property than that of cement paste substituted by marketed powder admixture and also a good fluidity-retention effect with elapsed time by adding of superplasticizer. The setting time of cement paste substituted by powder admixtures based on anhydrite slightly retarded than that of cement paste substituted by marketed powder admixture.

Characterization of 1,4-Benzoquinone Reductase from Bovine Liver

  • 1,4-Benzoquinone reductase was purified to electrophoretic homogeneity from bovine liver, and the purified enzyme found to have a molecular mass of 29 kDa, as determined by sodium dodecyl sulfate- polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis The enzyme exhibited pH optimum between 8.0 and 8.5. The apparent fm for 1,4-benzoqulnone was 1.643 mM, and the apparent Km for NADH was 1.837 mM. Various divalent cations, such as Hg$\^$2+/, Cu$\^$2+/, and Zn$\^$2+/, exhibited strong inhibitory effects. The enzyme activity was also strongly inhibited by quercetin, dicumarol, and benzoic acid. Incubation of the enzyme with N-bromosuccinimide and pyridoxal 5’-phosphate led to inhibitions of 100% and 99%, respectively. Accordingly, these results suggest that trypto-phan and Iysine residues are Involved at or near the active sites of the enzyme.

  • The selective chemical degradation or etching of PET based on an organic amine attack on the ester group. The techniques involves the chemical removal of loss ordered amorphous regions or crystalline regions, which are essentially unaffected by the degradative etchant. Thus, most of previous studies have limited to consideration which has been given to structural changes taking place. Therefore, this study was carried out to investigate surface characterization, dyeing properties of PET film hydrazinolyzed with hydrazine hydrate in methanol. PET film was treated with 30% hydrazine hydrate in methanol at $30^\circ{C}$ for various time intervals. The total surface tension of treated PET increased, the dispersion force decreased and the hydrogen bonding force increased. The equilibrium dye adsorption, dyeing rate and apparent diffusion coefficient of acid dyes increased, and the apparent activation energies of diffusion decreased.

  • This paper investigated the apparent chloride diffusivity of various concretes. Ten mixtures of concrete were initially prepared and tested to estimate diffusion property. The penetration depth and concentration of chloride ion were examined at the same water-binder ration. The binders were composed of normal portland cement, fly ash, ground granulated blast-furnace slag, and silica fume. From the results, it was concluded that using the mineral admixtures had a filling effect on the pore structure of cements matrix due to those pozzoanic reaction with the hydrates of cement, which increases the tortuosity of pore and makes large pore finer. And diffusivity of chloride is following: NPC100 > F10N90 > F30N70 > F20N80 > F20S05 > G30N70 > F10S05 > G30S05 > G30F15 > G50N50.

Prediction model for the hydration properties of concrete

  • This paper investigates prediction models estimating the hydration properties of concrete, such as the compressive strength, the splitting tensile strength, the elastic modulus,and the autogenous shrinkage. A prediction model is suggested on the basis of an equation that is formulated to predict the compressive strength. Based on the assumption that the apparent activation energy is a characteristic property of concrete, a prediction model for the compressive strength is applied to hydration-related properties. The hydration properties predicted by the model are compared with experimental results, and it is concluded that the prediction model properly estimates the splitting tensile strength, elastic modulus, and autogenous shrinkage as well as the compressive strength of concrete.

  • Electro-Rheological(ER) fluids change their apparent viscosity according to the electric field strength. The electrical and rheological properties of zeolite based the ER fluids were reported. The electric field dependent yield stress are obtained from experimental investigation on the Bingham property of the ER fluid. Using ER fluids, it is possible to directly interface between electric drop and flow rate of the ER fluid was hydraulic control valve measured under application of an electric field. The purpose of the present study is pressure drop measurement of an ER valve by using strain gage. The performance characteristics of the valve system are evalusted in terms of pressrue fixed with respect to the intensity of employed electric fields and flow rates. As a result, it is esperimentally confirmed that pressure control valve using ER fluids applicable to use in hydraulic power systems.

  • A numerical method for treating transient diffusion Involving change of phase is presented. In other methods of dealing with this class of problems, the mass flux balance at the moving phase boundary requires explicit treatment of two distinct phases. The technique, originating from the apparent heat capacity method in transient heat conduction with the phase change, avoids the difficulty by transferring the concentration discontinuity at the boundary to smoothed physical property variations near the moving front. This technique accomodates the nonlinearities which preclude use of analytical solutions. It was tested against known analytical solutions for simple cases and turned out to be quite accurate.

폐스티로폼을 혼입한 경량기포콘크리트의 역학적 특성 (Mechanical Property of Foamed Light Weight Concrete with Wasted Expanded Poly-Styrene)

  • 본 연구는 기존 경량기포콘크리트의 문제점 및 역학적 성질의 개선을 위하여 산업폐기물인 폐스티로폼을 사용하여 경량기포콘크리트를 제조하고, 그 역학적 성질을 조사 분석하기 위한 것으로, 현장에서 주로 사용하는 배합을 기초로 하여 폐스티로폼의 혼입율을 최대 40%까지 단계별로 혼입하여 실험을 진행하였다. 또한 배합조건에 따른 경량기포콘크리트의 역학적 특성에 관한 상관관계를 분석하고자 하였다. 실험결과 폐스티로폼의 혼입율이 증가할수록 압축강도 증진에 효과적인 것으로 나타났으며, 현저한 흡수율 개선의 효과를 확인하였다. 그러나 플로우값의 경우 혼입율이 증가하면서 감소하여 해결해야 할 과제로 나타났다. 또한 단위시멘트량의 증가에 따라 압축강도도 증가하는 경향을 보였으며, 물시멘트비의 변화에 따른 압축강도의 변화는 미미한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 재령별 압축강도에 있어서는 초기의 압축강도 확보 및 장기강도의 증진을 위한 연구가 지속되어야 할 것으로 나타났다. 결과적으로 폐스티로폼을 사용하여 경량기포콘크리트를 제조할 경우, 산업폐기물의 재활용이라는 측면 뿐만 아니라, 경제적이고 안정된 품질의 경량기포콘크리트를 생산할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • TLCP/polyester composite fibers (TPCFs) based on melt blends of PEN, PET, and TLCP were prepared by melt blending and spinning process to achieve high performance fibers. Reinforcement effect and TLCP fibrillar structure resulted in improvement of mechanical properties for TPCFs. The increase in the apparent crystallite size was attributed to the development of larger crystallites and more ordered crystalline structures in the annealed TPCFs. Molecular orientation was an important factor to determine mechanical property of TPCFs.

  • The moire phenomena, which are induced by mask vibration due to the excitation of speakers, degrades the color purity of CRT. So it is important to eliminate this phenomena to obtain a good CRT design. In this study we analyze the mask vibration by experiment as well as finite element method. To obtain the finite element solutions efficiently, an equivalent model was employed. The experimental and analysis results show reasonable agreements. An enhanced design configuration of mask welding points are suggested through this study.
