Analysis for the Economic efficiency of District Heating and Gas Engine Co-generation System comparing with Central Heating System (중앙난방방식을 지역난방.소형열병합난방방식으로 전환시의 경제성 비교 분석)

  • This study was conducted to calculate the LCC of a apartment complex with a type of heating system, district heating and cogeneration system. For the purpose of analyzing LCC according to size of apartment complex, 500, 1,500 and 4,000 houses of model apartment selected. This research performs design of heating system and the life cycle cost analysis including an initial cost, energy cost, maintenance and operation cost, replacement cost and renovation cost during the project period(15years). According to the calculated results, 1) Initial cost of cogeneration system with 500, 1500 and 4000 houses is higher than district heating system each of 20%, 13%, 12%. 2) In case of cogeneration system, the payback period by electric generation is 5.21, 4.92 and 4.47 years and saving cost was calculated 29 billion won, 94 billion won and 262 billion won after payback period. 3) Cogeneration system LCC was 1.12, 1.07 and 1.06 times larger than district system with the size of apartment complex. According to the case of this study district heating system is more efficient than cogeneration system in terms of the reduction of LCC. 4) Gas Engine Co-generation System is more efficient than other systems because it can collect progressive part from electric charge progressive stage system. However, the efficiency is decreasing because of raising of fuel bills(LNG) and lowering of power rate for house use. Especially the engine is foreign-made so the cost of maintenance and repair is high and the technical expert is short. 5) District heating is also affected by fuel bills so we should improve energy efficiency through recovering of waste heat(incineration heat, etc.). Also, we should supply district cooling on the pattern of heat using of let the temperature high in winter and low in summer.

  • Energy analysis for the hot water heating control system of apartment house complex is accomplished by computer simulation. Mathematical model of a boiler, pipe network and a unit-house is developed. The effects of heating control methods on the heating performance and energy consumption of the system are investigated. The heating control methods considered in this study are a continuous heating control, and on-off heating control and an intermittent heating control methods. For each control method, the effects of an outdoor temperature, indoor temperature sensing position and the capacities of the boilers and circulating pumps on the heating performance and energy consumption are obtained and "the best" control method is recommended.commended.

  • The purpose of this study is performance validation of district heating apartments about heating energy consumption and analysis of energy consumption by unit characteristics. The heating energy consumption of the existing apartments was analyzed and the analyzed results will be used for energy saving technology development and policy making. The heating energy consumption data about total 78 apartment complexes, 56,910 units in Gangnam-Gu, Seoul, Korea were investigated from October, 2010 to April 2011. The analysis results are as follows; The mean heating energy consumption is 98[kWh/m2]. The energy consumption of Apgujung-Dong, Daechi-Dong is higher than that of mean valuse. The energy consumption deviation by deterioration, unit area, core type and regional group is very high. Specially, building deterioration casts a long shadow.

  • In connection with a recent research project dealing with heating system in apartment buildings by district heating, it was realised that in general very little information on the actual performance of heating and hot water systems in apartment buildings has been documented. In order to improve of district heating systems, a prediction of the heat demand first needs to be determined before a production plan. this is hot water heat system developed in this paper. this is also analyzed relation heat load with preheat load in hot water heating exchanger system.

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest specific evaluation data for heating and DHW energy consumption characteristics through analyzing energy consumption measurement data of gas boiler in Apartment Buildings with individual heating systems. To do this, it was measured both gas flow and electricity for heating and DHW respectively, and then it was analyzed not only characteristics according to energy sources; gas and electricity, but also the effect of various factors on heating and DHW energy consumption. The result of this study were as follows. It was developed the electric energy estimation model of a gas boiler through analysis on patterns by energy sources. And the effective factors for heating and DHW energy consumption were demonstrated as follows: the area for exclusive use, the number of auxiliary heating equipments, the number of occupants, and the number of sanitary fixtures.

  • In this study, the operational characteristics on heating performance and energy consumption for intermittent hot water heating system in apartment buildings were research by simulation. The effects of apartment inlet hot water temperature and operation time per day on energy consumption and indoor thermal environment are investigated. The strategy of energy saving and thermal environment improvement is suggested in comparison with the existing ones.

  • The energy conservation in buildings affects environmental preservation as well as economic benefits, and creates the comfortable indoor environment set for the inhabitants. Especially, apartment buildings show ever-increasing energy consumption with large-sized and high-class tendency, thus energy saving counterplans are needed. The present study is to develop an optical control algorithm by using heating load curve according to the outdoor temperature change. Heating load analysis should be performed before the present method can be applied. Dynamic heating load simulations are performed by resistance-capacitance method. Results show that heating load decrease linearly according to the increase of outdoor temperature.

Thermal Environment and Heating Regulation System of the Co-Generation Apartment (열병합발전 아파트의 난방조절방식과 온열환경)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the heating regulation systems and the thermal environment of the Co-Generation apartment house in winter. Personal self-administration and interview method were used in the survey of this study. The respondents were 352 housewives who resided in Mokdong apartement using Co-Generation heating systems. Data was analyzed using SPSS PC+ computer package. The results of this study were summarised as follow; The typical patterns of heating regulation systems were intermittent and partial heating in the living room and bedroom exclusive of kitchen area. The present condition of the thermal environment were relatively warm in winter and Heatng regulation systems were influenced by type of location. Determinants of the thermal sensation and thermal comfort were the type of location of apartment as a architectural factor, clo as a personal factor.

  • Energy consumption analysis of multi-family apartment is an important area of research for the design of energy-saving housing. In this study, we selected a universal type of Flat-type apartments and analyzed the heating energy consumption of variables such as U-value, G-value, infiltration rate, heating setpoint and boiler efficiency with EnergyPlus and eQUEST. With these results, we identify the characteristics of EnergyPlus and eQUEST and provided base data for the design of energy-saving housing. The results indicate that infiltration rate is the most important factors to consider. And eQUEST heating energy consumption is approximately 10% higher compared to the EnergyPlus under same condition.

  • Currently, geothermal heat pump systems are being installed in new official and commercial building, welfare facilities, and school but there are a few cases for the housing heat sink in Korea. The reason is that there are no progressive taxes for the household electrical use, no actual output for the application of geothermal technology, high initial investment. For the overall use in multi family apartment such as the Green Home etc, technology development and building of the relevant research team need to be done through preliminary study. Core subjects for overall use include cooling heating load estimation for the multi family apartment, economical efficiency of the geothermal cooling and heating system, design and construction technology of the geothermal cooling and heating system for the multi family apartment, commercialization plan, and state of the art analysis. Selection of the detailed subjects with respect to core subject, driving schedule and commercialization plan, driving system, presentation of the utilization plan.
