The purpose of this study is to investigate early childhood student teachers' practicum anxiety on the basis of the teacher's image and self-efficacy during their practicum. The participants of this study were 499 student teachers who were enrolled in the department of early childhood education in a college or a university and had completed the practicum in Daejeon metropolitan city or the Chungcheong area. The instruments for this study were the Teacher's Image Scale, Practicum Anxiety Scale, Self-efficacy Scale, and a questionnaire for socio-demographic variables. The collected data were analyzed by using a t -test, F test, Pearson's partial correlation, and multiple regression with SPSS software (version 20.0). The results were as follows: First, the student teachers expressed higher practicum anxiety in a provincial area than in metropolitan city, and their self-efficacy was higher in public kindergarten than in private kindergarten. Further, the highest level of the teacher's image was obtained in the case of student teachers who enrolled in a 2- or 3-year college program and completed the practicum in the metropolitan city. Second, there was a significant negative correlation between the sum of student teachers' practicum anxiety and their professional skills of teacher's image as well as significant correlations between the sum of student teachers' practicum anxiety and their self-efficacy, except self-control efficacy. Finally, the student teachers' practicum anxiety was found to be 17.5%-24.4% and was explained the most by the confidence of self-efficacy.
Objective : This study aimed to evaluate the association of exhaustion, ADHD, self-esteem, impulsivity, suicidal tendencies and quality of life as well as depression and anxiety in fire officers in Korea. Methods : This study was undertaken for the first time in Korea, from September 2016 to December 2016. Purpose: This study was to investigate the effect of music therapy as intervention on peripheral neuropathic pain and anxiety of gynecologic cancer patients who were undergoing paclitaxel chemotherapy. Methods: Hospitalized 62 patients were assigned to an experimental group (n=30) and a control group (n=33) in this quasi-experimental study. The experimental group participated in music therapy that includes listening, singing and song writing during 1 hour. The peripheral neuropathic pain, anxiety and depression were examined as pre-intervention evaluation by using pain scale, anxiety scale (20 questions) and depression scale (20 questions) in both groups. There were no further treatments for the control group while the experimental group involved in music therapy. The peripheral neuropathic pain and anxiety were evaluated in both groups as post-intervention evaluation. Results: Outcomes were verified through hypothesis testing. The level of peripheral neuropathic pain and anxiety in the experimental group was decreased, compared to the control group. Conclusion: According to the study, music therapy is a beneficial intervention that reduces peripheral neuropathic pain and anxiety in gynecologic cancer patients. These findings are encouraging and suggest that music therapy can be applied as an effective intervention for minimizing chemotherapy related symptoms.

Objectives: We aimed to evaluate the clinical and psychological factors influencing depressive symptoms in children and adolescents with epilepsy. Methods: We administered self-reported questionnaires assessing children's depressive symptoms (Children's Depression Inventory, CDI) and anxiety (Revised Children's Manifest Anxiety Scale, RCMAS) to children and adolescents with epilepsy (n=87, age range=6-17 years). We asked their parents to complete questionnaires on epilepsy-related variables, parental stress (Questionnaire on Resources and Stress, QRS), parental anxiety (State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, STAI), family functioning (Family Adaptability and Cohesion Evaluation Scale, FACES), children's attention problems (Abbreviated Conners Parent Rating Scale Revised, CPRS), and children's behavioral problems (Korean Child Behavior Checklist, K-CBCL). Stepwise multiple regression analysis was performed to identify predictive variables affecting depressive symptoms. Results: Family adaptability (r=-0.240, p=0.026), family cohesion (r=-0.381, p<0.001), children's attention problems (r=0.290, p=0.006), children's anxiety (r=0.714, p<0.001), children's behavioral problems (r=0.371, p<0.001), parental anxiety (r=0.320, p=0.003), and parental stress (r=0.335, p=0.002) were significantly correlated with children's depressive symptoms. Children's anxiety (β=0.655, p<0.001) and parental stress (β=0.198, p=0.013) were significantly related to their depressive symptoms (adjusted R2=0.539). Conclusion: Clinicians should detect and manage children's anxiety and parental stress, which may affect depressive symptoms in children and adolescents with epilepsy.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to examine the effects of death anxiety and perceived end-of-life care competencies on the fear of terminal care among clinical nurses. Methods: This correlational study was conducted from June to July 2021. The study included 149 clinical nurses employed at a tertiary hospital and seven other hospitals. The measurement tools used in this study were the Thanatophobia Scale (Cronbach's α=0.87), the Death Anxiety Scale (Cronbach's α=0.80), and the Scale of End-of-life Care Competencies (Cronbach's α=0.94). These instruments were chosen to assess the levels of fear of terminal care, death-related anxiety, and competencies in end-of-life care. Results: The mean score for fear of terminal care was 3.32±1.32. Differences in fear of terminal care were observed based on the working unit, position, number of patients requiring terminal care, and experience with end-of-life care education. Fear of terminal care was significantly positively correlated with death anxiety and significantly negatively correlated with end-of-life care competencies. In multiple regression analysis, the factors influencing fear of terminal care were attitudes toward end-of-life care competencies (𝛽=-0.39, P<0.001), death anxiety (𝛽=0.24, P<0.001), knowledge of end-of-life care competencies (𝛽=-0.22, P=0.005), and behaviors related to end-of-life care competencies (𝛽=-0.16, P=0.021). These factors explained 64.6% of the total variance (F=25.54, P<0.001). Conclusion: This study suggests that developing nurses' end-of-life care competencies and reducing death anxiety are crucial for managing the fear of terminal care. Therefore, providing end-of-life care education and psychological support programs is important.
This study investigates working parent stress. This study surveyed 240 working mothers who are raising toddlers and 106 teachers in Seoul, Cyeong-gi, and Incheon. For this study, the Parenting Stress scale developed by Kim & Kang (1997) was used as the instruments for measurement and parental stress. To measure maternal separation anxiety, this study used the Maternal Separation Anxiety Scale (MSAS) developed by Hock (1989), while the Attitude for Occupation scale developed by Farel (1980) was used to measure the attitude for occupation. In addition, the Preschool Adjustment Questionnaire (PAQ) developed by Jewsuwan, Luster and Kostelink (1992), and modified by Oh Chong Eun (2001) were used as the instruments for measurement and adjustment. Data analysis was done using the SPSS WIN 15.0 version and the collected data were subject to a descriptive statistical analysis, one-way ANOVA t-test, and multiple regression analysis. The influential independent variables affecting parenting stress listed in order of significance were maternal attitude for occupation, adjustment of children, maternal anxiety, and income.
Objectives : The goal of this study was to compare the clinical characteristics of panic disorder respiratory subtype(PD-R) and non-respiratory subtype(PD-NR). Methods : 84 patients with panic disorder were enrolled and divided into 2 groups, 29 PD-R and 55 PD-NR. Diagnosis of panic disorder was evaluated using Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders $4^{th}$ edition and Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview. They were also measured with Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety(HAM-A), Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression(HAM-D), and Panic Disorder Severity Scale (PDSS). Results : PD-R group showed significantly higher scores in PDSS than those of PD-NR group(p=.027). After controlling for the severity of panic disorder and gender, PD-R group showed higher HAM-D and somatic anxiety subscale of HAM-A than those of PD-NR group. Furthermore, results of logistic regression analysis suggested that the somatic anxiety was a possible risk factor of PD-R(OR=1.404,p=0.009). Conclusion : These results suggest that somatic anxiety and depressive symptom would be important clinical characteristics of PD-R.
Purpose: Purpose of the study was to identify the effect of the Comprehensive Education Program (CEP) on intra-procedure anxiety, post-procedure uncertainty and athletic performance of back strengthening of patients undergo spinal nerve block (SNB).
