금속담지된 $TiO_2$ 나노튜브를 활용한 Cr(VI)환원의 광화학적 효율 연구 (Study on Photocatalytic Cr(VI) Reduction with Metal Deposited Anodized $TiO_2$ Tube)

  • The present work is performed to photocatalytically reduce Cr(VI) by means of metal deposited anodized $TiO_2$ tubes, which are prepared by anodization of Ti foil followed by metal deposition. Stably immobilized photo-reactive materials are favored in the field of detoxification in a conventional aqueous medium, preventing gradual loss of efficiency and process malfunction due to detachment of the materials. The prepared samples are characterized by SEM, TEM, EDAX, and photocurrent. The metal deposited-$TiO_2$ electrode shows higher efficiency for Cr(VI) reduction (ca. 20%) and higher ability for adsorption (4~5 times) than pure one.

  • A ceramic coating is a surface treatment method that is being used widely in the industrial field, recently. Ni-P plating is also being used widely because of its corrosion resistance and low cost. An anodizing method is applicable to aluminum alloy. An anodizing method generates a thick oxide layer on the surface and then, that heightens hardness and protects the surface. These surface treatments are applied to various mechanical components and treated surfaces relatively move one another. In this study, tribological characteristics of Ni-P plating and TiAlN coating on anodized Al alloy are compared. The counterpart, anodized Al alloy, is worn out abrasively by Ni-P plating and TiAlN coating that have higher hardness. Abrasively worn debris accumulated on the surfaces of Ni-P plating and TiAlN coating, and then transferred layer is formed. This transferred layer affects the amplitude of variation of friction coefficient, which is related to noise and vibration. The amplitude of variation of friction coefficient of Ni-P plating is lower than those of TiAlN coating during the tests.

  • In this study low voltage Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation (PEO) was utilized to eliminate high voltage PEO drawbacks such as high cost, dimensional deformation and porosity. Low voltage PEO produces a thin coating which causes low corrosion resistance. In order to solve such problem, 0.1~0.6M pyrophosphates were added in a bath containing 1.4M NaOH, and 0.35M Na2SiO3. 70 V PEO was conducted at 25℃ for 3 minutes. Chemical composition, morphology and corrosion resistance of the anodized coating were analyzed. The anodized film was composed of MgO, Mg2SiO4, and Mg2O7P2. The morphology of film showed appropriately dense structure and low porosity in the anodized layers. It is found that low voltage Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation in cooperation with phosphating treatment can provide a good corrosion protection for the AZ31B magnesium alloy.

  • Anodized tubular titania ($TiO_2$) electrodes (ATTEs) are prepared and used as both the photoanode and the cathode substrate in a photoelectrochemical system designed to split water into hydrogen with the assistance of an enzyme and an external bias (solar cell). In particular, the ATTE used as the cathode substrate for the immobilization of the enzyme is prepared by two methods; adsorption and crosslinking. Results show that the optimized amount of enzyme is 10.98 units for the slurried enzyme, 3.66 units for the adsorbed one and 7.32 units for the crosslinked one, and the corresponding hydrogen evolution rates are 33.04, 148.58, and 234.88 umol/hr, respectively. The immobilized enzyme, specifically the chemically crosslinked one, seems to be much superior to the slurried enzyme, due to the enhanced charge-transfer process that is caused by the lower electrical resistance between the enzyme and the ATTE. This results in a greater number of accepted electrons and a larger amount of enzymes able to deal with the electrons.

  • In order to investigate the fracture behaviors(penetration modes) and the resistance to penetration during ballistic impact of cold-rolled Al 5052 H34 alloy laminates, anodized Al 5052 H34 alloy laminates, and Al 5052 H34 alloy after cold-rolling, ballistic testing was conducted. In general, superior armor material is brittle materials which have a high hardness. Ballistic resistance of these materials was measured by protection ballistic limit(V50), a statical velocity with 50% probability for incomplete penetration. Fracture behaviors and ballistic tolerance, described by penetration modes, are observed respectfully, resulting from V50 test and Projectile Through Plate(PTP) test at velocities greater than V50. PTP tests were conducted with 0$^{\circ}$obliquity at room temperature using 5.56mm ball projectile. V50 tests with 0$^{\circ}$obliquity at room temperature were also conducted with projectiles that were able to achieve near or complete penetration during PTP tests. Surface Hardness, resistance to penetration, and penetration modes of Al 5052 H34 alloy laminates compared to those of cold-rolled Al 5052 H34 alloy laminates and anodized Al 5052 H34 alloy laminates anodized Al 5052 H34 alloy after cold-rolling.

  • The armor composite material targets such as aramid FRMLs with different type and ply number of face material and different type of back-up material, were studied to determine ballistic impact resistance and dynamic failure behavior during ballistic impact. Ballistic impact resistance is determined by $\textrm{V}_{50}$ ballistic limit, a statical velocity with 50% probability for complete penetration, test method. Also dynamic failure behaviors are respectfully observed that result from $\textrm{V}_{50}$ tests. $\textrm{V}_{50}$ tests with $0^{\circ}$ obliquity at room temperature were conducted with projectiles that were able to achieve near or complete penetration during high velocity impact tests. As a result, ballistic impact resistance of anodized Al 5052-H34 alloy(2 ply) is better than that of anodized Al 5052-H34 alloy(1 ply), but Titanium alloy showed the similar ballistic impact resistance. In the face material, ballistic impact resistance of titanium alloy is better than that of anodized Al 5052-H34 alloy. In the back-up material, ballistic impact resistance of T750 type aramid fiber is better than that of CT709 type aramid fiber.

Simultaneous Determination of Ranitidine and Metronidazole at Poly(thionine) Modified Anodized Glassy Carbon Electrode

  • A simple and sensitive electrochemical sensor for simultaneous and quantitative detection of ranitidine (RT) and metronidazole (MT) was developed, based on a poly(thionine)-modified anodized glassy carbon electrode (PTH/GCE). The modified electrode showed the excellent electrocatalytic activity towards the reduction of both RT and MT in 0.1M phosphate buffer solution (PBS, pH 7.0). The peak-to-peak separations (${\Delta}E_p$) for the simultaneous detection of RT and MT between the two reduction waves in CV and DPV were increased significantly from ca. 100 mV at anodized GCE, to ca. 550 mV at the PTH/GCE. The reduction peak currents of RT and MT were linear over the range from 35 to $500{\mu}M$ in the presence of 200 and $150{\mu}M$ of RT and MT, respectively. The sensor showed the sensitivity of 0.58 and $0.78{\mu}A/cm^2/{\mu}M$ with the detection limits (S/N = 3) of 1.5 and $0.96{\mu}M$, respectively for RT and MT.

  • PMMA light guiding plate with nano-sized pattern was fabricated using anodized aluminum oxide membrane as a template for nano imprint lithography. Nano-sized pore arrays were prepared by the self-organization processes of the anodic oxidation using the aluminum plate with 99.999% purity. Since the aluminum plate has a rough surface, the aluminum plate with thickness of 1mm was anodized after the pre-treatments of chemical polishing, and electrochemical polishing. The surface morphology of the alumina obtained by the first anodization process was controlled by the concentration of electrochemical solution during the first anodization. The surface morphology of the alumina was also changed according to temperature of the solution during chemical polishing performed after first anodization. The pore widening process was employed for obtaining the one-channel with flat surface and height of the channel because the pores of the alumina membrane prepared by the fixed voltage method shows the structure of two-channel with rough surface. It is shown from SPM results that the nano-sized pattern on PMMA light guiding plate fabricated by nano imprint lithography method was well transferred from that of anodized aluminum oxide template.

The Effect of Anodizing on the Electrical Properties of ZrO2 Coated Al Foil for High Voltage Capacitor

  • $ZrO_2$ and Al-Zr composite oxide film was prepared by vacuum assisted sol-gel dip coating method and anodizing. $ZrO_2$ films annealed above $400^{\circ}C$ have tetragonal structure. $ZrO_2$ layers inside etch pits were successfully coated from the $ZrO_2$ sol. The double layer structures of samples were obtained after being anodized at 100 V to 600 V. From the TEM images, it was found that the outer layer was $Al_2O_3$, the inner layer was multi-layer of $ZrO_2$, Al-Zr composite oxide and Al hydrate. The capacitance of $ZrO_2$ coated foil exhibited about 28.3% higher than that of non-coating foil after being anodized at 100 V. The high capacitance of $ZrO_2$ coated foils anodized at 100 V can be attributed to the relatively high percentage of inner layer in total thickness. The electrical properties, such as withstanding voltage and leakage current of coated and non-coated Al foils showed similar values. From the results, $ZrO_2$ and Al-Zr composite oxide is promising to be used as the partial dielectric of high voltage capacitor to increase the capacitance.
