MCMB 및 KCF 혼합부극의 특성 연구 (Characteristics of MCMB Anode Mixed with KCF)

  • In this study, the properties of MCMB anode Mixed with KCF were evaluated, KCF material was used as not only conducting agent but also active material, The Electirc conductivity of MCMB and KCF were 23.7S/cm and 45.8S/cm. Characteristics of anode with different KCF contents were the best effect at 2wt%. The 1st Ah efficiency of cells were increased with increment of KCF contents. The internal resistance and the rate capability were $1.59{\Omega}$ and 135mAh/g at 2C, The discharge capacity was gradually faded with the charge-discharge cycling to about 50th cycles.

Characteristics of DMFC Using High Porous Active Carbon as an Uncatalysed Diffusion Layer in Anode Electrode

  • Performance of direct methanol fuel cell using high porous active carbon as an uncatalysed diffusion layer in anode (composite electrode) has been evaluated. Effects of porous active carbon in anode were investigated by galvanostatic method and Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy. The single cell was operated with 2.5 M methanol at temperature of $80-120^{\circ}C$ and showed performance of $210-510\;mA/cm^2$ at 0.4V. By replacing conventional electrode with composite electrode, the increment of $290\;mA/cm^2$ in current density was obtained at $90^{\circ}C$and 0.4V. The potential decay of the single cell was about 14.5% for 20 days operation.

  • Fuel cell is a modular, high efficient and environmentally energy conversion device, it has become a promising option to replace the conventional fossil fuel based electric power plants. The high temperature fuel cell has conspicuous feature and high potential in being used as an energy converter of various fuel to electricity and heat. And, The research and development for the solid oxide fuel cell have been promoted rapidly and extensively in recent years, because of their high efficiency and future potential. Therefore this paper describes the manufacturing method and characteristics of anode electrode for solid oxide fuel cell, by the way, Ni-YSZ materials are used as anode of high temperature widely. So in this experiments, we investigated the optimum content of Ni, by the impedance characteristics, overvoltage. As a result, the performance of Ni-YSZ anode(40vol%) was better excellent than the others.

However, the MCFC which use strongly corrosive molten carbonate at 650$^{\circ}C$ have many problem. Systematic investigation on corrosion behavior of Fe/20Cr/Ti alloys has been done in (62+38)mol% (Li+K)CO$_3$ melt at 923K by using steady state polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy method. And, The research and development for the solid oxide fuel cell have been promoted rapidly and extensively in recent years, because of their high efficiency and future potential. Therefore this paper describes the manufacturing method and characteristics of anode electrode for SOFC, by the way, Ni-YSZ materials are used as anode of SOFC widely. So in this experiments, we investigated the optimum content of Ni, by the impedance characteristics, overvoltage. As a result, the performance of Ni-YSZ anode(47vo1%) was bettor excellent than the others.

  • We examined the effects of alloying elements such as Fe, Ga, In, Sn, Mg, and Mn on the electrochemical characteristics of Al-based alloys for Al-air batteries by potentiodynamic polarization tests and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The corrosion potential of an Al anode was lowered by the addition of Ga and Sn, resulting in an increase in the cell voltage compared with a pure Al electrode. Fe was not beneficial to improve the electrochemical properties of the Al anode in that it caused a decrease in the cell voltage and reduced corrosion rate slightly. In, Mn, Sn, and Mg decreased the corrosion rate of the Al alloys, while Ga enhanced corrosion significantly and accelerated consumption of the anode.

New design and its characteristics of full color anode panel for field emission display

  • Field Emission display (FEDs) require enhancement in both driving methods and process techniques to improve the display image quality. However, from the point of view of manufacturing, it is difficult to find methods and techniques to realize low cost manufacturing. New and simple color phosphor screen designs were suggested with non-crossed electrode lines and full color anode panels for small area displays were demonstrated. To avoid unwanted reaction with gases produced from phosphors in a high vacuum glass container, a very thin polyimide layer was coated on the phosphor screen. Moreover, to improve the display image quality, black matrix composed of inorganic materials was fabricated. This paper describes the performance and characteristics of the new full color anode panels.

연료극 지지체식 평관형 고체산화물 연료전지 특성 연구 (Characteristics of Anode-supported Flat Tubular Solid Oxide Fuel Cell)

  • 연료극 지지체 평관형 고체산화물 연료전지(SOFC)의 셀 전력밀도를 증가시키기 위하여 압출법에 의하여 제조하고 그 특성을 연구하였다. 연료극 지지체로써 Ni/YSZ($8mol\%$ yttria stabilized zirconia) cermet는 기공율 $50.6\%,\;0.23{\mu}m$의 기공크기를 나타내었다. 지지체에서의 Ni의 분포는 균일하였으며 전자전도 경로로써의 Ni의 연결성은 양호하였다. 지지체에 YSZ전해질과 복합 공기극층인 $LSM((La_{0.85}Sr_{0.15})_{0.9}MnO_3)/YSZ$ 복합층, LSM, LSCF $(La_{0.6}Sr_{0.4}Co_{0.2}Fe_{0.8}O_3)$층이 슬러리 디핑법에 의하여 코팅 및 소결된 연료극 지지체식 평관형 고체산화물 연료전지 단위전지의 성능은 $800^{\circ}C$에서 $300mW/cm^2(0.6V,\;500mA/cm^2)$의 성능을 나타내었다. 임피던스 분석에 의하여 평관형 셀의 전기화학적 분극저항을 평가하고 연료측의 가습에 따라 분극저항이 감소되어 성능이 향상됨을 알 수 있었다 슬러리 디핑법으로 LSM이 코팅된 SUS430 금속연결재를 $Ar+10\%\;H_2$에서 소결하였으며, $750^{\circ}C$에서 면저항의 측정할 결과, 초기에는 $148m{\Omega}cm^2$를 나타내었으며, 450시간 경과 후에 $43m{\Omega}cm^2$의 낮은 면저항을 유지하였다. 반면에 동일한 조건으로 LSM이 코팅된 Fecralloy는 높은 면저항을 나타내었다.

Characteristics of LaCo1-xNixO3-δ Coated on Ni/YSZ Anode using CH4 Fuel in Solid Oxide Fuel Cells

  • Nickel-doped lanthanum cobalt oxide (LaCo1-xNixO3-δ, LCN) was investigated as an alternative anode material for solid oxide fuel cells. To improve its catalytic activity for steam methane reforming (SMR) reaction, Ni2+ was substituted into Co3+ lattice in LaCoO3. LCN anode, synthesized using the Pechini method, reacts with yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) electrolyte at high temperatures to form an electrochemically inactive phase such as La2Zr2O7. To minimize the interlayer by-products, the LCN was coated via a double-tape casting method on the Ni/YSZ anode as a catalytic functional layer. By increasing the Ni doping amount, oxygen vacancies in the LCN increased and the cell performance improved. CH4 fuel decomposed to H2 and CO via SMR reaction in the LCN functional layer. Hence, the LCN-coated Ni/YSZ anode exhibited better cell performance than the Ni/YSZ anode under H2 and CH4 fuels. LCN with 12 mol% of Ni (LCN12)-modified Ni/YSZ anode showed excellent long-term stability under H2 and CH4 conditions.
