시간 평균 홀로그래픽 간섭계를 이용한 환형 평판의 자유 진동 연구 (Free Vibration Analysis of Annular Sector Plates Psing Pime Average Holographic Interferometry)

  • The study of the vibration characteristics of annular sector plates which are clamped along their inner circumferential edge is important for structural engineers. The present analysis consists of experimental method and numerical method. The experimental method using time-average holographic interferometry is obtained vibration modes and frequencies. The experimental results are verified by a numerical method using F.E.M. The important aspects of the present paper is the dependence of the natural frequencies and the mode shape on the annular area changing sector angle. The radial nodal lines converge to the center of the plate. As increasing sector angle, the radial modes are predominant.

유리섬유 강화 폴리카보네이트의 환상형상부품 사출성형시 성형수축에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Part Shrinkage in Injection Molded Annular Shaped Product for Glass Reinforced Polycarbonate)

  • 사출성형에서 성형수축은 피할 수 없는 현상이다. 따라서 성형수축을 줄이기 위한 연구가 필요할 뿐만 아니라 성형수축의 특성을 명확히 파악하는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 유리섬유로 보강된 폴리카보네이트를 이용하여 2.5차원형상인 환상형상의 시편에서 보이는 성형수축 현상을 조사하였다. 환상시편은 외경의 크기와 두께를 달리하여 설계하였다. 성형조건은 수지온도, 보압시간 및 보압크기를 변수로 설정하였다. 여러 성형조건으로 성형된 시편에서 내경과 외경의 크기가 변하는 양상에 대해서 분석하였다. 성형된 시편의 외경과 내경의 치수는 금형의 치수보다 작게 나타났다. 시편의 외경이 클수록, 그리고 시편의 두께가 두꺼울수록 수출율은 작게 나타났다. 또한 게이트의 위치에 따라 수축의 크기가 방향성을 보였다. 따라서 성형된 시편은 원형이 아니라 타원형으로 나타났고 게이트 방향으로 내경과 외경이 가장 큰 수축을 보였다. 수축된 제품의 형상조절을 위해서는 게이트 설계와 같은 금형설계가 중요하다고 판단된다.

  • 다중 스월 환형 연소기의 난류 유동장을 Large Eddy Simulation(LES)와 병렬 계산 기법을 사용하여 모사하였다. 해석에 이용된 연소기 모델은 GEAE 의 LM6000 연소기이다. 연소기 내에서 와류의 생성과 소멸은 단일 인젝터 해석결과와 유사하나, 인젝터간 상호 인접구간에서의 와류의 충돌은 인젝터간 와류 강도가 다르며, 이로 인하여 복잡하고 강한 압력파가 연소실 내에 전파됨을 확인하였다. 특히 다중 스월인젝터를 모사하므로서 횡방향의 압력 진동이 수치적으로 포획되었다.

  • Vibration characteristics of an duel-cooling cylindrical fuel rod, which was proposed as a candidate design of fuel's cross section for the ultra-high burnup nuclear fuel, according to the cross-sectional dimensions and the number of supports or the span length were analytically studied. Finite element(FE) modeling for the annular cross sectional fuel was based on the methodology, that have been proven by the test verification, for the conventional PWR nuclear fuel rod. A commercial FEA code, ABAQUS, was used for the FE modeling and analysis. A planar beam element (B21) that uses a linear interpolation was used for the fuel rod and a linear spring element for the spring and dimple of the SG. Natural frequencies and mode shape were calculated according to the preliminary design candidates for the fuel's cross sectional dimension and the number of span. From the analysis results, the design scheme of the annular fuel compatible to the present PWR nuclear reactor core was discussed in terms of the number of supports and fuel's cross section.

Using modified Halpin-Tsai approach for vibrational analysis of thick functionally graded multi-walled carbon nanotube plates

  • In the most of previous studies, researchers have restricted their own studies to consider the effect of single walled carbon nanotubes as a reinforcement on the vibrational behavior of structures. In the present work, free vibration characteristics of functionally graded annular plates reinforced by multi-walled carbon nanotubes resting on Pasternak foundation are presented. The response of the elastic medium is formulated by the Winkler/Pasternak model. Modified Halpin-Tsai equation was used to evaluate the Young's modulus of the multi-walled carbon nanotube/epoxy composite samples by the incorporation of an orientation as well as an exponential shape factor in the equation. The exponential shape factor modifies the Halpin-Tsai equation from expressing a straight line to a nonlinear one in the multi-walled carbon nanotubes wt% range considered. The 2-D generalized differential quadrature method as an efficient and accurate numerical tool is used to discretize the equations of motion and to implement the various boundary conditions. The effects of two-parameter elastic foundation modulus, geometrical and material parameters together with the boundary conditions on the frequency parameters of the plates are investigated. This study serves as a benchmark for assessing the validity of numerical methods or two-dimensional theories used to analysis of annular plates.

  • Needs of fuel's performance evaluation for the dual-cooled fuel pellet (annular shape) necessitate the irradiation test in the test reactor. Irradiation test rig for the HARARO reactor, which is a special-purposed equipment used for material, irradiation and creep test, must satisfy the operational requirement on the hydraulic characteristics and structural integrity. In this paper, pressure drop and flow-induced vibration test for the newly developed non-instrumented test rig were carried out using FIVPET as a out-pile evaluation test. The test results show that the new test rig satisfy the HANARO operational requirement with sufficient margin. The spectral response characteristics of the flow-induced vibration of the test rid were also discussed.

  • In this numerical approach, strut-placed supersonic annular flow is examined. The geometrical variations of strut cause strong influence on flowfield structures. The geometrical variations are as follows, swept effect, attack angle effect, variation of leading edge shape. These changed features such as velocity structure, pressure structure, shock-boundary layer interaction are compared and analyzed according to each geometrical configuration.

  • A commercial CFD code is used to compute the 3-D viscous flow field within the inlet flow concentrator of the newly developed AHU (Air Handling Unit). To improve the performance of the AHU, the inlet air needs to be gradually accelerated to the fan's annular velocity without causing turbulence or flow separation. Three major geometric parameters were selected to specify the inlet shape of the AHU. The performance of the AHU could be measured by the inlet and outlet flow uniformity and the total pressure loss through the inlet flow concentrator. Several numerical calculations were carried out to determine the influence of the geometric parameters on the performance of the AHU. The best geometric values were decided to have efficient inlet shape with analyzing CFD calculation results.

  • A bellows is a component installed in the automobile exhaust system to reduce the impact from an engine. It's stiffness has a great influence on the natural frequency of the system. Therefore, it must be designed to keep the specified stiffness that requires in the system. This study present the finite element analysis of U-typed bellows using a curved conical frustum element and the shape optimal design with specified stiffness. The finite element analysis is verified by comparing with the experimental results. In the shape optimal design, the weight is considered as the cost function. The specified stiffness from the system design is transformed to equality constraints. The formulation has inequality constraints imposed on the fatigue limit, the natural frequencies, the buckling load and the manufacturing conditions. A procedure for shape optimization adopts a thickness, a corrugation radius, and a length of annular plate as optimal design variables. The external loading conditions include the axial and lateral loads with a boundary condition fixed at an end of the bellows. The recursive quadratic programming algorithm is selected to solve the problem. The result are compared with the existing bellows, and the characteristics of the bellows is investigated through the optimal design process. The optimized shape of the bellows are expected to give quite a good guideline to the practical design.

  • 환형 스월 난류 연소기 내에서 반응, 비반응시 발생하는 유동의 차이를 flamelet 난류연소와 난류유동 모델을 모두 고려한 3차원 LES 기법으로 연구하였다. 계산 모델은 GEAE의 LM6000 환형연소기를 이용하였으며, 조건은 실험에서 얻어진 값을 이용하였다. 연소시 열방출에 의해 연소가스의 체적이 팽창하고 이로 인해 유입되는 스월의 주흐름은 하류방향으로 더욱 뻗어나간다. 비반응에서 나타났던 수직 단면에서의 타원형의 속도 분포는 원형에 가깝게 변하며, 비반응 유동장에서는 와류의 분포가 광범위하게 나타나지만, 반응유동에서는 약한 와류들은 소멸되는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 반응과 비반응에서 와류 분포와 강도, 그리고 동일 세기의 와류의 크기가 확연히 다르게 나타나는데, 이는 연소에 의한 밀도 팽창에 의한 영향으로 판단된다.
