확률가중모멘트의 차수 변화에 따른 홍수량 변동 특성 분석 (Analysis on Characteristics of Variation in Flood Flow by Changing Order of Probability Weighted Moments)

  • 본 연구에서는 우리나라 수위관측소들 중에서 관측 유량이 검증된 총 19개 유역을 선정하고 관측된 홍수량을 사용하여 적정 설계홍수량을 유도함으로써 우리나라의 설계홍수량 특성을 분석하였다. 대상유역별로 관측개시 년도에서부터 분석 시작년을 기준으로 1년씩 증가 시키는 점진적 구성 방식으로 연최대홍수량에 대한 빈도분석을 실시하기 위해, 변동특성을 이동평균법에 의해 분석하였다. 19개 대상유역에 대한 연최대홍수량 계열 구성기간별로 기본통치를 산정하고 독립성, 동질성 및 Outiler 검정을 실시하였다. Gumbel, Generalized Extreme Value, Generalized Logistic 및 Generalized Pareto 분포의 적합도 검정을 LH-모멘트비도와 Kolmogorov-Smirnov 검정에 의해 수행하였다. 적정 확률분포로 선정된 GEV 분포의 매개변수를 확률가중모멘트의 치수 변화에 의한 L, L1, L2, L3 및 L4-모멘트법에 의해 추정하고 대상유역 및 연최대홍수량 계열 구성 기간별 설계홍수량을 유도하였다. 본 연구에서 사용한 변동률 분석에 따라 최근 지구온난화에 따른 우리나라 기후 변화를 고려한 적절한 수리구조물의 설계 조건변경시기는 2002년 전후로 하여야 할 것이다.

건설장비와 농기계에서 배출되는 연도별 대기오염 배출량 변화추세 (Annual Trends of Air Pollution Emission from Construction and Agricultural Equipments)

  • The annual air pollution emissions from construction and agricultural equipments were estimated from 1987 through 2000. The annual numbers and operation hours of 5 major construction equipments (Excavator, Bulldozer, Loader, Fork lift, Crane) and 3 major agricultural equipments (Power Tiller, Agricultural Tractor, Combine) were investigated for emission estimation. And monthly variation factors of operation hours of construction equipment were investigated too. The NO$_{x}$ emission from construction equipment have been gradually increased since 1987 to 1997, but sharply decreased as -45% in 1998 due to economic crisis in Korea. The NO$_{x}$ emission was estimated as 64,300 ton/year from construction equipment, and as 23,300 ton/year from agricultural equipment in 2000.000.

Window-to-Wall-Ratio for Energy Reduction in Early Design Stage of Residential Building

  • In Korea, it is necessary to improve the performance of buildings with respect to the energy efficiency while improving the quality of occupants' lives through a sustainable built environment. During the design and development process, building projects must have a comprehensive, integrated perspective that seeks to reduce heating, cooling and lighting loads through climate-responsive designs. The aim of this study is to assess the optimal window-to-wall ratio of multi-rise residential units in the early design phase in Korea. The study analyzed the variation of annual heating and cooling energy load in two apartment prototype units located in Seoul city using different WWRs. The analysis was conducted using Autodesk Ecotect Analysis 2011 tool. The study found for total annual building load reductions WWR on the south and north face should be studied independently based on the room function. It also found reducing the WWR for bedrooms and windows on the northern façade resulted in reduced total annual building load.

기후요소에 의한 증발량 연구 (On Lake Evaporation from Climatological Data in Korea)

  • A simple regression formula for estimating the lake evaporation rate from the copper-plated pan (diameter 20cm, height 10cm) is derived. A comparison with other formulae indicates that the formula is more accurate than others. An annual map of man evaporation in Korean peninsula has been prepared using the relation. It demonstrates the areal average distribution of mean annual evaporation from a free water surface with no heat storage effect and avected energy owing to differences in the temperature of in-and outflow. The mean annual ratio of the lake to the copper-plated pan evaporation is found to be 0.64. The ratio varies with local conditions from 0.62 to 0.66, and hence it can be considered fairly uniform. However the seasonal variation of the ratio appears to be rather significant. It changes from the lowest of 0.61 to the highest of 0.75.

Microfibril Angle Characteristics of Korean Pine Trees from Depending on Provinces

  • This study investigated the characteristics of microfibril angle(MFA) in order to see if there was any difference in pine tree lumber quality among the three mountain areas surrounding the Taebaek Mountains in Korea - Yeongdong (Goseong-gun), Yeongseo (Hongcheon-gun) and Yeongnam (Bonghwa-gun). Pine trees of each mountain area were divided into earlywood and latewood in relation to heartwood part (1959 ~ 1961, 3 annual rings) and sapwood part (2002 ~ 2004, 3annual rings), and measured at tangential section. The microfibril angle showed significant differences between mountain areas. In general, Goseong Mountain was found to have 37.35°, followed by Hongcheon Mountain 32.42° and Bonghwa Mountain 25.75°, in order. The sapwood part had larger angle than heartwood part; and earlywood, than latewood. Variation within a single annual ring tended to be smaller from earlywood toward latewood.

부산의 대기 중 PCDD/DFs의 연간 변화와 가스/입자상 분배 (Annual Variation and Gas/Particie Partitioning of PCDD/DFs of Ambient Air at Busan, Korea)

  • This study aims to monitor the variation of concentration of PCDD/DFs between the gaseous phase-particulate phases in the ambient air of urban area in Korea. This monitoring is evaluated by using the Junge-Pankow model and the Koa absorption model with the application of the Octanol-air partition coefficient. In this study, the ambient air samples were analyzed according to each congener group of the PCDD/DFs by HRGC/HRMS, which have been investigated for the past 5 years. In the results, the annual variation in the concentration level of $\Sigma$PCDD/DFs in TSP was increased from $1588\;fg/m^3$ in 1998 to $5123\;fg/m^3$ in 2002, and from 31 fg I-TEQ/$m^3$ to 94 fg I-TEQ/$m^3$ in the $\Sigma$I-TEQ. In the case of PUF of gaseous phase sample, their variation was increased from $1615\;fg/m^3$ in 1998 to $2237\;fg/m^3$ in 2002, and in the $\Sigma$I-TEQ from 12 fg I-TEQ/$m^3$ to 17 fg I-TEQ/$m^3$. The relative coefficient between the gas phase concentration of PCDD/DFs and the temperature was a value of 0.744; the contributive rate of the temperature to the gaseous phase concentration was 0.554. According to the results, the pattern of the coefficient of distribution based on log $p_L^0$ is similar to the ambient air of the urban areas.

The Seasonal and Interannual Variability of the Volume Transport through the Western Channel of the Korea Strait

  • The variation of volume transport during the period from 1965 to 2000 through the western channel of the Korea Strait was estimated by obtaining an relation function between the ADCP volume transport and the geostrophic volume transport estimated by the sea level difference between Pusan and Izuhara. The estimated climatological mean volume transport during past 36 years has seasonal variation with a minimum of 1.15 Sv in February and a maximum of 1.88 Sv in October. The mean volume transport for 36 years is 1.51 Sv. The annual mean volume transport has an interannual variation with a minimum of 1.26 Sv in 1968 and maximum of 1.90 Sv in 1973, with three dominant periods of variations of 14.96 years, 4.96 years and 2.99 years.

  • This study is about the ionospheric variation on the Korean Peninsula using GPS TEC data from Daejeon IGS GPS site. It has accumulated the 11 years GPS data from 2000. In this work, the hourly and daily averaged TEC data are used. Data period covers a full solar cycle from 2000 to 2010 (11 years) which the total observed days are 98%. The mean TEC data shows the annual/semiannual variation, solar cycle and 27 days. GPS TEC has a good correlation with solar F10.7 index. We also compare with planetary Kp and AE indices. The maximum of the daily mean GPS TEC is around 50 TECU at 2000 and that value of 2009 is near 10 TECU. we confirms that the GPS TEC is a good indicator for ionospheric variation for the mid-latitudinal region to understand the ionospheric climatology over Korea Peninsula.

1980-1993년 기간의 서울의 시정 추이 (The Trend of Visibility Variation of Seoul during 1980-1993)

  • The trend of visibility variation of Seoul during 1980-1993 is analyzed. Annual average visibility has been decreased during the 1980s except 1988 and 1989 but not decreasing during the early 1990s. Also, the number of days with haze during 1983-1993 did not increase. Mixing height is deemed to be a dominant factor determining visibility. During the period, the difference between the average visibility at 6 p.m and 9 a.m decreased with the average visual range at 9 a.m slightly increased. Thus there is possibility that the effect of Photochemcial reactions becomes noticeable. The number of vehicles and the concentration of criteria air pollutants on the trend of visibility variation of Seoul would not be directly related to the variation of visibility.

LONG-TERM STREAMFLOW SENSITIVITY TO RAINFALL VARIABILITY UNDER IPCC SRES CLIMATE CHANGE SCENARIO

  • Long term streamflow regime under virtual climate change scenario was examined. Rainfall forecast simulation of the Canadian Global Coupled Model (CGCM2) of the Canadian Climate Center for modeling and analysis for the IPCC SRES B2 scenario was used for analysis. The B2 scenario envisions slower population growth (10.4 billion by 2010) with a more rapidly evolving economy and more emphasis on environmental protection. The relatively large scale of GCM hinders the accurate computation of the important streamflow characteristics such as the peak flow rate and lag time, etc. The GCM rainfall with more than 100km scale was downscaled to 2km-scale using the space-time stochastic random cascade model. The HEC-HMS was used for distributed hydrologic model which can take the grid rainfall as input data. The result illustrates that the annual variation of the total runoff and the peak flow can be much greater than rainfall variation, which means actual impact of rainfall variation for the available water resources can be much greater than the extent of the rainfall variation.
