Development of a Voltage Sag Simulator (순간전압강하 해석 프로그램 개발)

  • This paper presents a user-friendly application for voltage sag analysis and effective visualization for analysis date. This developed tool provides basic functions for voltage sag analysis such as load flow analysis, short circuit analysis and determination of vulnerability of sensitive equipments. Particularly it has the ability to visualize analysis results effectively using computer graphic and animation. In order to give the real sense, analysis results are displayed with geographical information in an intuitive and rapid manner. The developed voltage sag simulator is applied to the Jeju-Island power system in order to show its capabilities.

  • Most of digital media contents are composed with video and audio, picture and animation informations. Sometime, there is some deviation of information recognition quality for the video and audio information according to information receiver's characteristics or the understanding. But visual information using the text provide most clear and accurate ways for information recognition to human being. In this paper, we propose a new broadcasting system(BSDMC) to transmit clear and accurate meaning of the digital media contents. We implement general-purpose components to display the video, picture, text and symbol simultaneously. Only plug-in and call these components with proper parameters on the application developing tool, we can easily develop the multimedia contents broadcasting system. These components are implemented based on the object-oriented framework and modular structure so that increase the reusability and can be develop other applications quick and reliable.

  • Of all wireless technologies for personal communications, CDMA(Code Devision Multiple Access) offers the best combination of good signal quality, high security and system reliability. CDMA2000 provides Internet and internet services for variable multimedia aplications. However, good educational CDMA web contents, which focus on the easy understability and good readability, are rare dute to the difficulties and the broad range of CDMA technologies. This content is developed based upon the following two aspects. First, a basic CDMA communication theoy, which contains much color figures and animation, is introduced combing the experimental results and corresponding explanations utilizing the information obtained by the TIMS CDMA equitments. It can improve the understabiliy virtual experience of the site visitors interested in the CDMA. Secondly, the recent CDMA coverage prediction and engineering technology is introduced using the RF plan tool C24 combined for the CDMA engineers

  • The IRPO(Intensive Randomized Policy Optimizer) algorithm is a recently developed tool in the area of reinforcement leaming. And it has been shown to be very successful in several application problems. To compare with a general RL method, IRPO has some difference in that policy utilizes the entire history of agent -environment interaction. The policy is derived from the history directly, not through any kind of a model of the environment. In this paper, we consider a robot-control problem utilizing a IRPO algorithm. We also developed a MATLAH-based animation program, by which the effectiveness of the training algorithms were observed.

  • The overall aim of this research was to explore Open-world game through the notion of Paidia and Ludus that proposed by Frasca. As a structured simulation system, the Open World overlap Non-linear events and Linear quests via geographic world. Building own sequence of explore the world with Paidia process, Player collides with the pre-scripted quest. In result of that Meta-Simulator emerge as alternative tool for modeling Meta-Simulation, which presents an alternative, extended use of gameplay.

  • This study presents a new type of CNC interpolator that is capable of generating cutter paths for ball-end milling of NURBS surfaces. The proposed surface interpolator comprises real-time algorithms for cutter contact (CC) path scheduling and CC path interpolator. Especially in this study, a new interpolator module to regulate cutting forces is developed. This propose algorithm utilizes variable-feedrate commands along the CC path according to the curvature of machined surfaces during the interpolation process. Additionally, it proposes an OpenGL graphic library for computer graphics and animation of interpolated tool-position display. The proposed interpolator is evaluated and compared with the existing method based on constant feedrates through computer simulations.

  • It cannot be argued that speech is the most natural interfacing tool between men and machines. In order to realize acceptable speech interfaces, highly advanced speech recognizers and synthesizers are inevitable. Text-to-Speech(TTS) technology has been attracting a lot of interest among speech engineers because of its own benefits. Namely, the possible application areas of talking computers, emergency alarming systems in speech, speech output devices fur speech-impaired, and so on. Hence, many researchers have made significant progresses in the speech synthesis techniques in the sense of their own languages and as a result, the quality of currently available speech synthesizers are believed to be acceptable to normal users. These are partly why the MPEG group had decided to include the TTS technology as one of its MPEG-4 functionalities. ETRI has made major contributions to the current MPEG-4 TTS among various MPEG-4 functionalities. They are; 1) use of original prosody for synthesized speech output, 2) trick mode functions fer general users without breaking synthesized speech prosody, 3) interoperability with Facial Animation(FA) tools, and 4) dubbing a moving/animated picture with lib-shape pattern information.

  • With the increase of using internet in business, the gathering of customer information with real time process is emphasized more and more. This paper summarized the several characteristics of internet survey as a tool of gathering information of customer, and did empirical test for the effect of the design of cyber shopping mall on the customer's buying decision using internet survey. The survey result shows that the customer's buying decision in cyber shopping mall is affected by design factors such as multimedia and consistent framework of homepage. The survey also shows that as the intention of using cyber shopping mall is high, the more preference for navigation aid, and as the internet experience is long, the less preference for the animation and too much using of graphics.

  • As rapid development of new hardware control interface technology, new concepts have been being proposed and emerged. In this paper, a new approach based on leap motion system is proposed. While we employ a position information from sensor, the hand gesture recognition is suggested with the pre-defined patterns. To do this, we design a recognition algorithm with hand gesture and finger patterns. We apply the proposed scheme to 3-dimensional avatar controling and editing software tool for making animation in the cyber space as a representative application. This proposed algorithm can be used to control computer systems in medical treatment, game, education and other various areas.
