택시운전원의 고객응대 노동이 정신건강에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Customer Contact Service to the Mental Health among Korean Taxi Drivers)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between customer contact service and mental health among Korean taxi drivers. Methods: This was a secondary analysis of data collected from the 2015 Korean Working Conditions Survey. The sample included 496 taxi drivers in South Korea. The effect of customer contact service on mental health was analyzed using logistic regression analysis. The independent variables were general characteristics, working conditions, and hazardous factors in interactive service. Results: The prevalence of poor mental health was 56.3%. Taxi drivers experienced emotional involvement (17.2%), hiding feeling (32.0%), and contact with angry clients (18.3%) in their job. During the first month of their work, 33.7% experienced verbal abuse and 12.3% threats/humiliating behaviors. In bivariate analysis, verbal abuse, threats/humiliating behaviors, and physical violence were associated with mental health of taxi drivers. Multiple logistic regression analysis revealed 'emotional involvement' and 'contact with angry clients' were significant predictors of mental health. Conclusion: The findings of this study may be useful in developing intervention programs to improve the mental health of taxi drivers in South Korea.

How Consumers Spend and Distribute Money Tainted by Anger

  • Purpose: Anger has become one of the dominantly experienced emotions in recent years, particularly under the COVID-19 pandemic. Considering the critical role that anger plays in consumers' lives, the present research examines how feeling angry about money influences consumers' spending and money distribution decisions. Research design and methodology. Three experiments were conducted using different emotion induction methods (i.e., dictator game, autobiographical recall, and scenario). Results. Feeling angry about money decreased pro-social spending (i.e., less money distribution to the others), but it did not affect virtuous or utilitarian spending for the self-unlike past finding on negative feelings that increased utilitarian spending. Furthermore, whereas anger-tainted money decreased pro-social spending of that money, guilt-tainted money increased pro-social spending. However, the effects of guilt versus anger were not completely symmetrical. The antagonistic effect of anger was diffusive across spending on distant and close others, whereas the pro-social effect of guilt was limited to distant others. Conclusions: These findings help policy makers and financial institutions forecast how money will be distributed or circulated when it is likely to be dampened by anger under the pandemic. They also highlight the importance of examining the effects of discrete emotions (e.g., anger vs. guilt) beyond valence.

영화 <12인의 성난 사람들>에 나타난 편견에 관한 연구 (A Study on Prejudice in The Movie <12 Angry Men>)

  • 영화 <12인의 성난 사람들>은 하버마스의 공론장 이론에 의거한, '합리적인 토론' 혹은 '긍정적인 비판적 합리성'을 명목으로 한 각 배심원들의 편견어린 시선이 끊임없이 등장한다. 편견은 그 자체로는 옳고 그름을 판단할 수 없는 개념이지만, 현 사회적 및 시대적 분위기로서 판단건대 의사소통과 공론의 과정 속에서 지양해야 할 의사소통의 방해물이며 종종 사회적 문제점을 야기하곤 한다. 이에, 본고에서는 영화 속에 하버마스의 공론장 이론을 투영하여 그 편견들에 대해 들여다보고, 배심원들의 토론을 통해 편견 즉, 갈등이 해소되는 과정을 통해 편견이 해소되는 과정을 살펴봄으로써 궁극적으로 편견이라는 개념에 대해 현실세계 속에서 어떻게 풀어나가야 할지에 대해 영화라는 매개체를 통한 현실적 시사점을 도출하고자 한다. 연구 결과, 영화 속에서 하버마스의 공론장 이론에 따른 '공동체를 위한 합의'와 '보편적 이성성' 에 대한 하버마스의 이상적인 공론에 대해 나타났으나 부분적으로는 영화 속 '현실의 벽'에 의해 완전한 편견으로부터의 해방은 어렵다는 점을 도출해 냈으며 편견은 상호 이해와 공공성 확보라는 측면에서 반드시 필요한 필요악이라는 점을 밝혀냈다.

얼굴정서 판단에 미치는 감정단어의 맥락조절효과 (Context Modulation Effect by Affective Words Influencing on the Judgment of Facial Emotion)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 최근 심리구성주의 정서이론에서 제안한 얼굴정서 지각 과정에 미치는 언어의 영향을 정신물리학적 방법을 사용하여 검증하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 감정단어가 얼굴표정 전에 제시될 경우, 얼굴표정의 정서 범주에 대한 판단 기준을 그 감정단어가 표상하는 정서 개념 맥락에 가깝게 이동시킬 것이라는 가설을 세웠다. 실험에서는 분노 또는 기쁨을 표현하는 감정단어가 표적 얼굴 전에 잠시 제시되었고, 표적 얼굴로는 중립에서 분노 (실험 1), 중립에서 행복 (실험 2)으로 점진적으로 변화하는 얼굴표정 중 하나가 무선적으로 제시되었다. 실험참가자는 표적얼굴의 정서를 분노 혹은 중립 (실험 1), 행복 혹은 중립 (실험 2)으로 판단하는 2안 강제선택 과제를 수행하였다. 실험 1 결과, 통제조건과 비교하여 분노 표현 감정단어들은 표적 얼굴정서를 분노로 판단하는 판단 경계 (PSE: the point of subjective equality)를 낮추었고, 행복 표현 감정단어들은 판단 경계를 높였다. 중립-행복 표정을 판단하는 실험 2에서는 반대의 결과가 관찰되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 얼굴정서를 지각하는 과정이 다양한 맥락 정보를 사용하여 능동적으로 구성하는 과정이며, 감정단어들은 정서에 대한 개념적 맥락을 제공함으로써 얼굴정서 지각에 영향을 준다는 구성된 정서 이론의 주장을 지지하는 것으로 해석할 수 있다.

Importance of Quality of Life in Pain Management for Cancer Patients

  • Patients with uncontrolled pain may become tired, depressed, angry, worried, lonely, and stressed. In contrast, proper management of cancer pain allows patients to be more active, sleep better, enjoy family and friends, improve their appetite, enjoy sexual intimacy, and prevent depression. Pain control is strongly influence to quality of life of cancer patients. This review discusses the importance of quality of life in pain management for cancer patients.

감정에 따른 얼굴 표정변화와 12경락(經絡) 흐름의 상관성 연구 (Study on the Relationship Between 12Meridians Flow and Facial Expressions by Emotion)

  • Facial expression was an important communication methods. In oriental medicine, according to the emotion the face has changed shape and difference occurs in physiology and pathology. To verify such a theory, we studied the correlation between emotional facial expressions and meridian and collateral flow. The facial region divided by meridian, outer brow was Gallbladder meridian, inner brow was Bladder meridian, medial canthus was Bladder meridian, lateral canthus was Gallbladder meridian, upper eyelid was Bladder meridian, lower eyelid was Stomach meridian, central cheeks was Stomach meridian, lateral cheeks was Small intestine meridian, upper and lower lips, lip corner, chin were Small and Large intestine meridian. Meridian and collateral associated with happiness was six. This proves happiness is a high importance on facial expression. Meridian and collateral associated with anger was five. Meridian and Collateral associated with fear and sadness was four. This shows fear and sadness are a low importance on facial expression than different emotion. Based on yang meridian which originally descending flow in the body, the ratio of anterograde and retrograde were happiness 3:4, angry 2:5, sadness 5:3, fear 4:1. Based on face of the meridian flow, the ratio of anterograde and retrograde were happiness 5:2, angry 3:4, sadness 3:5, fear 4:1. We found out that practical meridian and collateral flow change by emotion does not correspond to the expected meridian and collateral flow change by emotion.

이용자 중심의 얼굴 표정을 통한 감정 인식 TV의 상호관계 연구 -인간의 표정을 통한 감정 인식기반의 TV과 인간의 상호 작용 연구 (The interaction between emotion recognition through facial expression based on cognitive user-centered television)

  • In this study we focus on the effect of the interaction between humans and reactive television when emotion recognition through facial expression mechanism is used. Most of today's user interfaces in electronic products are passive and are not properly fitted into users' needs. In terms of the user centered device, we propose that the emotion based reactive television is the most effective in interaction compared to other passive input products. We have developed and researched next generation cognitive TV models in user centered. In this paper we present a result of the experiment that had been taken with Fraunhofer IIS $SHORE^{TM}$ demo software version to measure emotion recognition. This new approach was based on the real time cognitive TV models and through this approach we studied the relationship between humans and cognitive TV. This study follows following steps: 1) Cognitive TV systems can be on automatic ON/OFF mode responding to motions of people 2) Cognitive TV can directly select channels as face changes (ex, Neutral Mode and Happy Mode, Sad Mode, Angry Mode) 3) Cognitive TV can detect emotion recognition from facial expression of people within the fixed time and then if Happy mode is detected the programs of TV would be shifted into funny or interesting shows and if Angry mode is detected it would be changed to moving or touching shows. In addition, we focus on improving the emotion recognition through facial expression. Furthermore, the improvement of cognition TV based on personal characteristics is needed for the different personality of users in human to computer interaction. In this manner, the study on how people feel and how cognitive TV responds accordingly, plus the effects of media as cognitive mechanism will be thoroughly discussed.

울증(鬱證)환자에게 용서프로그램을 활용한 오지상승요법(五志相勝療法)을 시행하여 호전된 1례 (The Case Study of a patient with Yùzhèng(鬱證) who has treated by Oh-Ji-Sang-Seung(五志相勝) Therapy based on Forgiveness Program)

  • Y$\grave{u}$zh$\grave{e}$ng(鬱證) comes from obstruction of qi by stress. The patient has depressed mood, irritable sign, chest discomfort, costal pain, angry state or some strange feeling on the throat. Oh-Ji-Sang-Seung(五志相勝) therapy is base on the theory of interrelation in five elements in oriental medicine. The contents of Oh-Ji-Sang-Seung(五志相勝) therapy include five subjugations of five emotions. Anxiety subjugates fear(思勝恐), fear subjugates joy(恐勝喜), joy subjugates pity(喜勝悲), pity subjugates anger(悲勝怒), and anger subjugates anxiety(怒勝思). Forgiveness program is a kind of psychological therapies to decrease the degree of anger and it is included in Oh-Ji-Sang-Seung(五志相勝) therapy. In this case, a female patient, 50 years old, who suffered from Y$\grave{u}$zh$\grave{e}$ng(鬱證) with chest discomfort, irritable sign, easily angry state, depressed mood, hot flush, insomnia. We used Oh-Ji-Sang-Seung(五志相勝) therapy besides herbal medication, acupuncture to her condition got improved. Therefore we reported it for the treatment.

NEO-PI-R을 이용한 소양인, 소음인 및 태음인의 성격 특성에 관한 연구 (Study of Personality Traits in So-yang, So-eum and Tae-eum Using NEO-PI-R)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the personality traits in three constitutional types, So-yang, So-eum and Tae-eum, using NEO-PI-R. The Questionnaire for QSCC II and NEO-PI-R Korean version were completed by 155 university students (108 males and 47 females), Analysis of difference among groups was conducted by ANOVA and followed by Scheffe test. Significant differences of personality among three constitutional types were revealed with respect to NEO-PI-R scales such as Extroversion and Openness in the big five factors and Anxiety, Angry ,Gregariousness, Assertiveness, Excitement Seeking, positive Emotion, Fantasy, Feeling, Action, Values, Modest and Deliberation in subtypesof the big five factors. The score of So-yang is significantly higher than that of so-eum in Extroversion, Openness, Angry, Gregariousness, Assertiveness, Excitement Seeking, Positive Emotion, Fantasy, Action and Values. The score of So-yang is significantly higher than that of Tae-eum in Extroversion, Openness, Gregariousness, Assertiveness, Excitement Seeking, Feeling, Action and Values. The score of So-eum is significantly higher than that of So-yang in Anxiety, Modest and Deliberation. The results Suggst that NEO-PI-R is helpful to determine constitution type, especially in the level of personality.

감성 커뮤니케이션을 위한 디지털 눈 콘텐츠 표현 연구 (A Study on The Expression of Digital Eye Contents for Emotional Communication)

  • 본 연구는 디지털 환경에 적용될 수 있는 디지털 눈 콘텐츠의 감성 표현 요소를 정립하는데 목적이 있다. 특히, 스마트 인형의 적용 가능한 감성을 도출하고, 각 감성에 대한 표현 요소의 가이드라인을 제안하고자 한다. 본 연구를 위하여 첫째, 문헌 정보, 애니메이션, 실제 사람의 영상을 바탕으로 눈으로 표현되는 감성 표현에 대한 개념 및 특징을 연구한다. 둘째, FGI를 통해 스마트 인형의 디지털 눈에 필요한 6가지 감정 -Happy, Angry, Sad, Relaxed, Sexy, Pure-을 정의하고, 각 감성에 따른 표현 요소를 추출하였다. 셋째, 추출된 요소를 분석하여 디지털 눈의 감성 표현에 대한 가이드라인을 정립하였다. 연구 결과 각 감성을 구분하고 표현하기 위한 요소는 눈매, 시선, 홍채 크기, 특수 효과의 총 4가지로 나타났고 각 감성 별로 구분되는 요소별 정의와 특징을 도출하였다. 얼굴 표정에 있어서 가장 중요한 요소인 눈에 대한 감성 표현 연구는 애니메이션을 포함한 디지털 콘텐츠와 로봇, 스마트 인형 등의 감성 커뮤니케이션 효과를 높일 수 있는 방법으로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
