전자기 토모그래피를 이용한 액체 금속 속도장 측정 (Measurement of Velocity Profile in Liquid Metal Flow Using Electromagnetic Tomography)

  • In order to measure non-intrusively velocity profile in liquid metal flow, a modified electromagnetic flowmeter was designed, which was based on electromagnetic tomography technique. Under the assumption that flow is fully-developed, axisymmetric and rectilinear, the velocity profile was reconstructed after the flowmeter equation, the first kind of Fredholm integration equation, was linearized. In reconstruction process Tikhonov regularization method with regularization parameter was used. The reconstructed velocity profile had the nearly same as turbulent flow profile which was approximately represented as log law. In addition, flowmeter output for a fixed magnet rotation angle was linearly proportional to flow rate. When magnet rotation angle was $54^{\circ}$, axisymmetric weight function was nearly uniform so that the flowmeter gives a constant signal for any fully-developed, axisymmetric and rectilinear profile with a constant flow rate.

백스테핑기법과 신경회로망을 이용한 적응 재형상 비행제어법칙 (Reconfigurable Flight Control Law Using Adaptive Neural Networks and Backstepping Technique)

  • A neural network based adaptive controller design method is proposed for reconfigurable flight control systems in the presence of variations in aerodynamic coefficients or control effectiveness decrease caused by control surface damage. The neural network based adaptive nonlinear controller is developed by making use of the backstepping technique for command following of the angle of attack, sideslip angle, and bank angle. On-line teaming neural networks are implemented to guarantee reconfigurability and robustness to the uncertainties caused by aerodynamic coefficients variations. The main feature of the proposed controller is that the adaptive controller is designed with assumption that not any of the nonlinear functions of the system is known accurately, whereas most of the previous works assume that only some of the nonlinear functions are unknown. Neural networks loam through the weight update rules that are derived from the Lyapunov control theory. The closed-loop stability of the error states is also investigated according to the Lyapunov theory. A nonlinear dynamic model of an F-16 aircraft is used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control law.

협대역 다중표적의 효과적인 3차원 위치추정 알고리듬 (An Efficient Algorithm for Localizing 3D Narrowband Multiple Sources)

  • 본 논문에서는 다중 3차원 근거리표적의 위치를 효과적으로 추정하는 기법을 제안하였다. 제안한 기법은 세 개의 부분 센서배열을 이용하여 기존의 3D MUSIC에서의 3차원 탐색을 3번의 1차원 탐색으로 대치함으로써 연산량을 감소시켰다. 각각의 부분센서배열에서 얻은 센서신호로부터 표적이 원거리에 있다고 가정하고 원거리 입체각을 추정하면 추정된 입체각은 실제 근거리 표적의 위치인 방위각, 고각, 거리의 함수로 주어진다. 그러므로 세 개의 부분센서배열로부터 얻은 세 개의 함수를 연립하여 풀면 실제 근거리표적의 위치를 추정할 수 있다. 또한 다중 표적의 경우, 추정치에 대하여 3차원 MUSIC 스펙트럼 값을 비교함으로써 연관 문제를 해결하였다.

변형에 기초한 비대칭 벽식 주초의 내진설계 (Deformation Based Seismic Design of Asymmetric Wall Structures)

  • 기존의 비틀림 설계법은 구조 벽체의 강성은 강도에 무관하게 결정된다는 기본 가정하에 강성을 설계 변수로 비대칭 벽식 구조의 비틀림 효과를 최소화 하기 위한 각 부재의 강도를 결정한다. 이와는 달리 최근의 연구에 의하면 구조 벽체의 강성과 강도는 상호 연관성을 갖는 것으로 알려졌다. 이 경우 벽체의 실제 강성은 비틀림설계를 모두 마친 후에야 결정되므로 강성에 기초하여 비틀림 설계를 수행한다는 것은 모순이다. 이와 같은 문제점을 해결하기 위해 본 논문은 강성이 아닌 변형에 기초한 비대칭 벽식 구조의 비틀림 설계법을 제안한다. 기존의 비틀림 설계법은 탄성 비틀림 응답과 반응수정계수를 이용하여 비탄성 응답에 대한 설계 하중을 간접적으로 계산하지만 변형에 기초한 비틀림 설계법은 변위와 비틀림 회전각을 설계 변수로 비탄성 응답에 대한 설계 하중을 직접적으로 계산한다. 기존의 비틀림 설계법이 비틀림 효과를 최소화하는 것을 목적으로 하는 데 비하여, 변형에 기초한 비틀림 설계법은 내진역량설계법의 기본 개념에 의거하여 설계자가 의도한 비틀림 미케니즘을 발휘하는 데 그 목적을 둔다. 변위와 회전각은 비대칭 구조의 성능수준을 직접적으로 나타내는 성능 지표이므로 본 설계법은 성능기초 내진설계에 효과적으로 사용될 수 있다.

Unsteady galloping of sharp-edged bluff bodies: experimental observations on the effect of the wind angle of attack

  • Light-weight or low-damped structures may encounter the unsteady galloping instability that occurs at low reduced wind speeds, where the classical quasi-steady assumption is invalid. Although this unsteady phenomenon has been widely studied for rectangular cross sections with one side perpendicular to the incidence flow, the effect of the mean wind angle of attack has not been paid enough attention yet. With four sectional models of different side ratios and geometric shapes, the presented research focuses on the effect of the wind angle of attack on unsteady galloping instability. In static tests, comparatively strong vortex shedding force was noticed in the middle of the range of flow incidence where the lift coefficient shows a negative slope. In aeroelastic tests with a low Scruton number, the typical unsteady galloping, which is due to an interaction with vortex-induced vibration and results in unrestricted oscillation initiating at the Kármán vortex resonance wind speed, was observed for the wind angles of attack that characterize relatively strong vortex shedding force. In contrast, for the wind angles of attack with relatively weak shedding force, an "atypical" unsteady galloping was found to occur at a reduced wind speed clearly higher than the Kármán-vortex resonance one. These observations are valid for all four wind tunnel models. One of the wind tunnel models (with a bridge deck cross section) was also tested in a turbulent flow with an intensity about 9%, showing only the atypical unsteady galloping. However, the wind angle of attack with the comparatively strong vortex shedding force remains the most unfavorable one with respect to the instability threshold in low Scruton number conditions.

Numerical simulation on structural behavior of UHPFRC beams with steel and GFRP bars

  • This study simulates the flexural behavior of ultra-high-performance fiber-reinforced concrete (UHPFRC) beams reinforced with steel and glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) rebars. For this, micromechanics-based modeling was first carried out on the basis of single fiber pullout models considering inclination angle. Two different tension-softening curves (TSCs) with the assumptions of 2-dimensional (2-D) and 3-dimensional (3-D) random fiber orientations were obtained from the micromechanics-based modeling, and linear elastic compressive and tensile models before the occurrence of cracks were obtained from the mechanical tests and rule of mixture. Finite element analysis incorporating smeared crack model was used due to the multiple cracking behaviors of structural UHPFRC beams, and the characteristic length of two times the element width (or two times the average crack spacing at the peak load) was suggested as a result of parametric study. Analytical results showed that the assumption of 2-D random fiber orientation is appropriate to a non-reinforced UHPFRC beam, whereas the assumption of 3-D random fiber orientation is suitable for UHPFRC beams reinforced with steel and GFRP rebars due to disorder of fiber alignment from the internal reinforcements. The micromechanics-based finite element analysis also well predicted the serviceability deflections of UHPFRC beams with GFRP rebars and hybrid reinforcements.

  • 2002년 태풍 루사에 의한 영향으로 전남 함양군 마천면 일대에 발생한 토석류 발생지점의 특성을 분석하기 위하여 Kompsat EOC-1 영상과 고해상도 항공사진, 그리고 수치해석모형을 이용하였다. 토석류가 발생한 지점은 사면경사가 평균적으로 35도 이상의 곡두부로 토양의 내부마찰각보다 사면경사가 큰 지점에서 사면붕괴가 집중적으로 발생한 후 토석류화된 것으로 나타났다. 또한 모형의 토석류 예측결과는 실제 발생범위에 비해 넓게 예측되었으며, 이는 지표가 포화 되어졌다는 정상상태를 가정하고 있기 때문으로 추정된다. 정확한 토석류 예측을 위해서는 추후 토양이 포화되는 시점까지의 강우량과 토양의 포화도에 대한 시간이 고려되어야 할 것이다.

재머의 크기가 변하는 환경에서의 억제 알고리즘 연구 (A Study on Jammer Suppression Algorithm for Non-stationary Jamming Environment)

  • Adaptive Beamforming (ABF) algorithm, which is a typical jammer suppression algorithm, guarantees the performance on the assumption that the jamming characteristics of the TDS (Training Data Sample) are stationary, which are obtained immediately before and after transmitting the pulse signal. Therefore, effective jammer suppression can not be expected when the jamming characteristics are non-stationary. In this paper, we propose a new jammer suppression algorithm, of which power spectrum fluctuates fast. In this case, we assume that the location of the jammer station is fixed during the processing time. By applying the MPM (Matrix Pencil Method) to the jamming signal in TDS, we can estimate jammer parameters such as power and incident angle, of which the power will vary fast in time or range bins after TDS. Though we assume that the jammer station is fixed, the estimated jammer's incident angle has an error due to the noise, which degrades the performance of the jammer suppression as the jammer power increases fast. Therefore, the jammer's incident angle should be re-estimated at each range bin after TDS. By using the re-estimated jammer's incident angle, we can construct new covariance matrix under the non-stationary jamming environment. Then, the optimum weight for the jammer suppression is obtained by inversing matrix estimation method based on the matrix projection with the estimated jammer parameters as variables. To verify the performance of the proposed algorithm, the SINR (signal-to-interference plus noise ratio) loss of the proposed algorithm is compared with that of the conventional ABF algorithm.

Elastic flexural and torsional buckling behavior of pre-twisted bar under axial load

  • According to deformation features of pre-twisted bar, its elastic bending and torsion buckling equation is developed in the paper. The equation indicates that the bending buckling deformations in two main bending directions are coupled with each other, bending and twist buckling deformations are coupled with each other as well. However, for pre-twisted bar with dual-axis symmetry cross-section, bending buckling deformations are independent to the twist buckling deformation. The research indicates that the elastic torsion buckling load is not related to the pre-twisted angle, and equals to the torsion buckling load of the straight bar. Finite element analysis to pre-twisted bar with different pre-twisted angle is performed, the prediction shows that the assumption of a plane elastic bending buckling deformation curve proposed in previous literature (Shadnam and Abbasnia 2002) may not be accurate, and the curve deviates more from a plane with increasing of the pre-twisting angle. Finally, the parameters analysis is carried out to obtain the relationships between elastic bending buckling critical capacity, the effect of different pre-twisted angles and bending rigidity ratios are studied. The numerical results show that the existence of the pre-twisted angle leads to "resistance" effect of the stronger axis on buckling deformation, and enhances the elastic bending buckling critical capacity. It is noted that the "resistance" is getting stronger and the elastic buckling capacity is higher as the cross section bending rigidity ratio increases.

단일 GPS와 롤각속도계를 이용한 롤 회전 비행체의 롤자세각 추정 (Roll Angle Estimation of a Rolling Airframe Using a GPS and a Roll Rate Gyro)

  • 본 논문에서는 단일 저가형 범용 GPS 수신기와 롤 축 각속도계를 이용하여 롤 회전 비행체의 롤 자세각을 결정하는 기법을 제안한다. 비행체에 부착된 GPS 수신기의 신호 수신강도는 GPS안테나가 향하는 방향과 비행체의 종축이 이루는 평면 내에 GPS위성이 존재할 때 최대가 된다. 비행체의 종축이 속도벡터와 일치한다고 가정하면, 비행체에 대한 GPS위성의 상대위치벡터를 이용하여 GPS 안테나 신호가 최대일 때의 롤 각을 결정할 수 있다. 롤 각 결정의 정밀도를 높이기 위해 롤 축 각속도계를 이용한 칼만필터를 구성하였다. 6-자유도 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안된 방법의 성능을 검증하였다.
