  • Due to the recent advances of IT industry, many companies and institutions have been used electronic documents rather than original paper copies. However, the characteristic of electronic document allows it to be readily damaged from proscribed copying, counterfeit, and falsification. These can cause the serious security problems for electronic documents. Conventional security methods for digital documents involve adding a separated image or marker, but these methods can reduce the readability of document. Therefore, we proposed a digital Jikin (Korean traditional stamp) which is normally used to identify the source or author of a document in asia. The proposed digital Jikin can preserve the readability of electronic document while protecting the document from proscribed copying, counterfeit, or falsification using image processing approach. In this paper, a digital Jikin application is designed and implemented under android platform and it converts the critical information of document onto the digital Jikin. The proposed digital Jikin contains important information in the boundary of Jikin not only about the author of documents or source, but also keywords, number of images, and many more. Therefore, the authenticity of document or whether the document has been altered or not by other person can be evaluated by the server. The proposed digital Jikin can be sent to a server through the wireless networks and can be stored using PHP and MySQL. We believe that the proposed method can offer the better and simple solution for strengthening the security of electronic document.

  • Recently feature phones are being replaced by smartphones. Because smartphones have various sensors, there are many applications and research works that utilize them. Very few feature phones have GPS modules but all smartphones are equipped with a GPS sensor. One of the hot issues for smartphone research and development is point interest research. In this paper, we will develop an application which protects children using GPS and WiFi.. If a child gets out of the interest-area which is established by parents or guardian, our system sends them messages.

  • WebView is a vital component in smartphone platforms like Android, Windows and iOS that enables smartphone applications (apps) to embed a simple yet powerful web browser inside them. WebView not only provides the same functionalities as web browser, it, more importantly, enables a rich interaction between apps and webpages loaded inside the WebView. However, the design and the features of WebView lays path to tamper the sandbox protection mechanism implemented by browsers. As a consequence, malicious attacks can be launched either against the apps or by the apps through the exploitation of WebView APIs. This paper presents a critical attack called Supplementary Event-Listener Injection (SEI) attack which adds auxiliary event listeners, for executing malicious activities, on the HTML elements in the webpage loaded by the WebView via JavaScript Injection. This paper also proposes an automated static analysis system for analyzing WebView embedded apps to classify the kind of vulnerability possessed by them and a solution for the mitigation of the attack.

  • Usage of a face mask has become mandatory in many countries after the COVID-19. This paper described to develop a IoT based smart mask system for monitoring face mask. The system developed in this paper has two main units, a sensor module, and a smartphone application. The sensor module consists of four components: temperature and humidity sensor, a heart rate sensor, and a BLE chip. This components work as a unit to collect data and stream them through an I2C port over BLE to a connected mobile device. The smartphone application is an Android application developed for smart phones. It enables the Android device to communicate with the sensor to receive sensor data, process, store and display results.

  • In recent years, the malicious apps with malicious code in normal apps are increasingly redistributed in Android market, which may incur various problems such as the leakage of authentication information and transaction information and fraudulent transactions when banking apps to process the financial transactions are exposed to such attacks. Thus the financial authorities established the laws and regulations as an countermeasures against those problems and domestic banks provide the integrity verification functions in their banking apps, yet its reliability has not been verified because the studies of the safety of the corresponding functions have seldom been conducted. Thus this study suggests the vulnerabilities of the integrity verification functions of banking apps by using Android reverse engineering analysis techniques. In case the suggested vulnerabilities are exploited, the integrity verification functions of banking apps are likely to be bypassed, which will facilitate malicious code inserting attacks through repackaging and its risk is very high as proved in a test of this study. Furthermore this study suggests the specific solutions to those vulnerabilities, which will contribute to improving the security level of smartphone financial transaction environment against the application forgery attacks.

  • In this paper, opencv and android studio are used to distinguish between objects ahead of the blind. When the movement is detected in a positive direction in connection with the camera of the smartphone, the user is informed that the part of the camera is being rabelified and continues to track using the mean shift algorithm. A C ++ program based on OpenCV-based was used for real-time motion observation and the application will be produced by android studio. As a result of the study, objects that move with Labeling are identified and the box area is specified using the mean shift algorithm to move the box along with the object to track objects in real time.

  • In this paper, the pseudorange-based GPS performance using the Android's raw measurements is compared with NMEA. In order to compare the performance between the two different implementations, we used Nexus 9 tablets and collected the raw measurements and NMEA data using the GNSS logger application provided by Google. To verify the performance of the final coordinates calculated, the VRS was used as the reference coordinate and compared with the NMEA results. The resulting horizontal, vertical, and 3D RMS errors of the pseudorange-based GPS using the Android's raw measurements are 3.05, 3.82, and 4.97 m, respectively, which correspond to 32% horizontal, 65% vertical and 49% 3D performance improvement compared with NMEA.

  • This paper presents a framework for context-aware smart phone applications based on Android. The mobile context-aware system is composed of a low level context collection module, a high level context generation module and a service provision module. Existing android system cannot provide an appropriate application framework to integrate these independent modules. In this paper, we provide an application framework which make each module a component, and provide appropriate services to each component. This framework hides the Android platform, so that the complexity for organical combination can be minimized and the application developers can make the mobile context-aware applications easily.

  • Physical computing, a concrete operational activity using tools, can help children to understand principles of computer science by observing interactions between a computer and the real world directly. This study aims to design and develop an android application to utilize students' smart phones as a tool of physical computing education. The application includes one class designed to collect data using android smart phone sensors and another designed to transfer the data to a computer which students can use to learn programming. The physical computing application can be used to help students understand the principles of computer science more easily in schools not equipped with physical computing tools.

  • Using crowdsourced sensor data collection technique, it is possible to collect high-density ground vibration data which is difficult to obtain by conventional methods. In this study, we have developed a crowdsourced ground vibration data collection system using MEMS sensors mounted on small electronic devices including smartphones, and implemented client and server based on the proposed infrastructure system design. The system is designed to gather vibration data quickly through Android-based smartphones or fixed devices based on Android Things, minimizing the usage of resource like power usage and data transmission traffic of the hardware.
