  • As the age of smart device has come, recently many application services related to smart phone are developing. The LBS(Location Based Service) technique is considered as one of the most important techniques to support location based application services. Usually the smart phone acquires the information of position by using the position recognition systems and sensors such as GPS(Global Positioning System) and G-Sensor. However, since the GPS signal from the satellite can hardly be received in the indoor environments, new LBS techniques for the indoor environment are required. In this paper, to solve the problem a position information transceiver using LED lights and smart phone camera sensor is proposed. We proved the possibility of the proposed positioning system through the experiments in the laboratory for the practical verification.

  • This paper proposes a secure and efficient anonymous authentication scheme for health information push service based on indoor location in hospital. The proposed scheme has the following benefits: (1)It is just based on a secure one-way hash function for avoiding complex computations for both health care operations users and health care centers. (2)It does not require sensitive verification table which may cause health care centers to become an attractive target for numerous attacks(e.g., insertion attacks and stolen-verifier attacks), (3)It provides higher security level (e.g., secure mutual authentication and key establishment, confidential communication, user's privacy, simple key management, and session key independence). As result, the proposed scheme is very suitable for various location-based medical information service environments using lightweight-device(e.g., smartphone) because of very low computation overload on the part of both health care operations users and health care centers.

  • Shortest Path Problems are among the most studied network flow optimization problems, with interesting applications in various fields. One such field is the route determination service, where various kinds of shortest path problems need to be solved in location-based service. Our research aim is to propose a route technique in real-time locationbased service (LBS) environments according to user’s route preferences such as shortest, fastest, easiest and so on. Turn costs modeling and computation are important procedures in route planning. There are major two kinds of cost parameters in route planning. One is static cost parameter which can be pre-computed such as distance and number of traffic-lane. The other is dynamic cost parameter which can be computed in run-time such as number of turns and risk of congestion. In this paper, we propose a new cost modeling method for turn costs which are traditionally attached to edges in a graph. Our proposed route determination technique also has an advantage that can provide service interoperability by implementing XML web service for the OpenLS route determination service specification. In addition to, describing the details of our shortest path algorithms, we present a location-based service system by using proposed routing algorithms.

  • The existing access control models have the demerits that do not provide the limit function of using resources by time constraint, the restricted inheritance function as a superior role in role hierarchy, the delicate delegation policy and the limit function of using resources by the location information about a user for the access control in ubiquitous environment. This paper proposes an Extended-GTRBAC model is suited to the access control in ubiquitous environment by applying to sub-role concept of GTRBAC model that the application of resources can be restricted by the period and time and PBDM and considering the location information about a user on temporal constraint. The proposal model can restrict the inheritance of permission in role hierarchy by using sub-role, provide the delicate delegation policy such as user-to-user delegation, role to role delegation, multi-level delegation. multi-step delegation, and apply diverse and delicate access control policy which is suited the characteristic of ubiquitous environment by considering the location information about a user on temporal constraint.

  • Purpose: In this paper, a distance estimation technique for indoor location estimation using IR-UWB is proposed and researched. We propose an algorithm that can increase the SNR lowered due to clutter or noise in an indoor environment. Method: In order to clutter suppression and detect weak signals, we analyze the existing studies of background remover, correlation, and singular vector decomposition techniques and propose an algorithm. Result: The proposed algorithm, the average error was 0.57m up to 11.5m, and the error were 0.49m from 6m to 11.5m. the average error rate was reduced by about 1m compared to the previous study. Conclusion: It can be used as a technique for detecting weak signals in clutter and noise environments for distance or location estimation, and can also be used as a human life detection technique to reduce damage to people in a disaster situation by using UWB radar which has highly transparent.

  • Pedestrian Dead Reckoning (PDR) methods using initial sensors are being studied to provide the location information of smart device users in indoor environments where satellite signals are not available. PDR can continuously estimate the location of a pedestrian regardless of the walking environment, but has the disadvantage of accumulating errors over time. Unlike this, WiFi signal-based wireless positioning technology does not accumulate errors over time, but can provide positioning information only where infrastructure is installed. It also shows different positioning performance depending on the environment. In this paper, an integrated positioning technology integrating two positioning techniques with different error characteristics is proposed. A technique for correcting the error of PDR was designed by using the location information obtained through WiFi Measurement-based fingerprinting as the measurement of Extended Kalman Filte (EKF). Here, a technique is used to variably calculate the error covariance of the filter measurements using the WiFi Fingerprinting DB and apply it to the filter. The performance of the proposed positioning technology is verified through an experiment. The error characteristics of the PDR and WiFi Fingerprinting techniques are analyzed through the experimental results. In addition, it is confirmed that the PDR error is effectively compensated by adaptively utilizing the WiFi signal to the environment through the EKF to which the adaptive error covariance proposed in this paper is applied.

  • Unlike existing Open APIs, Linked Data are made as a huge intelligent base to perform high-level SPARQL queries, and it is possible to create efficiently a new content by mashuping different information from various datasets. This paper implements a responsive web application for location-based semantic search. We mashup DBpedia, a kind of Linked Data, and GoogleMap API provided by Google, and provide a semantic browser function to confirm detail information regarding retrieved objects. Our system can be used in various access environments such as PC and mobile by applying responsive web design idea. The system implemented in this paper compares functional specifications with existing systems with similar functions. The comparison results show the superiority of our system in various aspects such as using semantic, linked-based browser, and mashup function.

  • The purpose of this study is to determine how the Korean diphthong /jo/ shows phonetic variation in various linguistic environments. The pronunciation of /jo/ is discussed, focusing on the relationship between phonetic variation and the distribution range of vowels. The location in a word (monosyllable, word-initial, word-medial, word-final) and word class (content word, function word) were analyzed using the speech of 10 female speakers of the Seoul Corpus. As a result of determining the frequency of appearance of /jo/ in each environment, the pronunciation type and word class were affected by the location in a word. Frequent phonetic reduction was observed in the function word /jo/ in the acoustic analysis. The word class did not change the average phonetic values of /jo/, but changed the distribution of individual tokens. These results indicate that the linguistic environment affects the phonetic distribution of vowels.

  • Concrete is a type of porous materials and is physically and chemically damaged due to exposure to various environments from the placing to the service life. These reactions affect the corrosionof steel bars applied in concrete and that decreases the durability life and strength of such steel bars. Thus, it is very important to insert rust inhibitors into steel bars in the case of a deterioration element that exceeds the critical amount of corrosion in the location of steel bars. However, it is very difficult to guarantee corrosion resistance at the location of steel bars using conventional technology that applies corrosion inhibitors only on the surface of concrete. This study attempts to develop a method that penetrates corrosion inhibitors up to the location of steel bars and investigate the penetration depth of corrosion inhibitors by verifying moisture migration in concrete under an applied pressure.
