남서해 도서 민가의 '마리' 공간 연구 (A Study on the Unit Space 'MARI' of the Private Houses in the Insular Areas of Southwestern Sea)

  • This study mainly examined the unit space (room) called 'MARI' of the private houses that were built between the 19c and the early 20c in the insular areas of southwestern sea. Generally, this region has unique historicity (restructure of the insular environment in the 17c and the 18c) and geographic environment that are different from inland regions thus the environment is presumed as a related factor to developments and structures of the private houses. 'MARI' is a noticeable space that is installed in a main building without an exception even in small 3 bedroom private houses. Its nature has location and usage distinctions in an architectural plan with similar 'MARU' of inland Jeollanam-Do. There are large crocks filled with grains at MARI. Thus, MARI is a storage room. Mostly rice and various other kinds of grains are stored in the several crocks, large and small. Many household goods are kept here as well. Another peculiar function of MARI is that this space commonly enshrines ancestral tablets of three generations. Hence, MARI takes a role of a shrine of an aristocratic house from an inland region. Considering the size of the house and space, this seems to be a very unprecedented utilization of area. MARI is located at the top (at the head of the house) on the floor plan. In other words, it is located at the space in the highest rank. The importance of ancestor worship and grains is evinced architecturally. It is really interesting fact that MARI is also located within recently built modern houses (Cheongsan Island, Joyak Island, etc.). Therefore, it can be said that the unique MARI tradition of this region has an intact continuity even today. After all, MARI has a great significance as a unique unit space of insular areas of southwestern sea that is installed in the main buildings of all houses regardless of size and shape of the houses, and their insular locations.

On Reducing False Positives of a Bloom Filter in Trie-Based Algorithms

  • Many IP address lookup approaches employ Bloom filters to obtain a high-speed search performance. Especially, it has been recently studied that the search performance of trie-based algorithms can be significantly improved by adding Bloom filters. In such algorithms, the number of trie accesses can be greatly reduced because Bloom filters can determine whether a node exists in a trie without actually accessing the trie. Bloom filters do not have false negatives but have false positives. False positives can lead to unnecessary trie accesses. The false positive rate must thus be reduced to enhance the performance of lookup algorithms applying Bloom filters. One important characteristic of trie-based algorithms is that all the ancestors of a node are also stored. The proposed algorithm utilizes this characteristic in reducing the false positive rate of a Bloom filter without increasing the size of the memory for the Bloom filter. When a Bloom filter produces a positive result for a node of a trie, we propose to check whether the ancestors of the node are also positives. Because Bloom filters have no false negatives, the negatives of any of the ancestors mean that the positive of the node is false. In other words, we propose to use more Bloom filter queries to reduce the false positive rate of a Bloom filter in trie-based algorithms. Simulation results show that querying one ancestor of a node can reduce the false positive rate by up to 67% with exactly the same architecture and the same memory requirement. The proposed approach can be applied to other trie-based algorithms employing Bloom filters.

Comparison of gloverin gene expression patterns between domesticated and wild silkworms

  • Bombyx mandarina is widely accepted as ancestor of B. mori. Silkworms are served as well-characterized models for understanding the mechanism for the genetic regulation of development. In this study, we performed RNA-Seq analysis to examine tissue-expression of gloverin isoforms of the silk-gland, mid-gut, and fat body in B. mandarina. BLAST analysis revealed that four gloverin isoform gene sequences of B. mandarina were highly similar to B. mori. To identify the difference between two species, the expression profile of gloverin was measured by semi- RT-PCR analysis. The specific expression of gloverin isoform genes was observed mainly in the fat body from B. mori but not B. mandarina. However, all of tissues in the wild-type silkworm could induce the upregulation of compared with the B. mori. To validate the sudden increase in gloverin gene expression in the mid-gut tissue of B. mandarina, we were using qRT-PCR. Relative mRNA expression rate of gloverin at the wild-type silkworm was much higher than domestic silkworm. Comparative genomics between domesticated and wild silkworms showed different tissue-expression levels in some of immune related genes. These results are suggesting a trend toward decreasing immunity related genes expression during domestication. Further studies are needed to elucidate the silkworm domestication and an invaluable resource for wild silkworm genomics research.

  • This study was inquire into the state of the family ethics during the period of the beginning of 1880′s to the 3.1 independence movement of 1919 which has been the black period in the history of Korean family ethics. The research was conducted by analyzing the newspapers, magazines, related literature and articles of the period. It was the beginning of the 1860′s and by the "Cheondo-Kyo" (the Religion of the Heavenly) way that the issues regarding the equality of sexes as the central concern of the modem family ethics came to be the object of the social discourse for the first time in Korean history. The social discourse had come to be positively activated around 1900, when the intellectuals of the "Korean enlightenment" had begun to the feel necessity of the modernization of Korean socialite and the importance of the women education as the essential part of it. However, the activation of the social discourse itself, especially with the newspapers of that period did not mean the changes of the traditional Confucian family ethics, but the discourse of the modernizing forces had become the seeds for changing the family ethics of the Korean people. The made chauvinistic nature of the family ethics of the period was not so much different from those of the preceeding patriarch societies, but the state of the family ethics during the period are characterized by several social phenomenon such as the rising needs of using the "Hangle"(Korean alphabet) instead of Chinese character for the equal education of the both sexes, increasing practices of the early marriage, customs of trade marriage in accordance with the demand of excessive weeding presents, and regarding social consciousness of the traditional family ethics as patriotics attitude against the Christian rejection of the ancestor worship ritual.

산마늘의 지역적 변이와 종다양성 연구 (Population Structure and Genetic Diversity of Garlic in Korea by ISSR Marker)

  • 마늘은 전 세계적으로 분포하는 다년생 초본이다. 마늘은 약리적, 경제적으로 중요한 작물이다. 야생종과 재배종의 유전관계를 ISSR 마커로 조사하였다. 또 ISSR 분석으로 이들 종의 유전적 다양도와 집단구조를 실시하였다. 한국의 세 야생 집단은 분리되어 있고 패치 분포를 보이지만 재배종에 비해 높은 유전적 다양성을 유지하고 있었다. ISS5R 마커로 야생종과 재배종의 계통관계는 잘 분리되었다. 비록 한국내 재배종 마늘이 산마늘에서 진화하였 다는 직접적 증거는 없지만 본 연구 결과 그런 가능성은 시사된다. 또한 야생종 산마늘 집단은 생식질 동정과 재배종 마늘의 진화과정에서 유익하게 쓰일 수 있다.

조선조 치마 재고 (A Research of Chima in the Chosun Dynasty)

  • A large quantity of exhumed clothing found for recent 20 years has becom-e the material for making a concrete clarification of the structure of clothing in the Chosun dynasty. Exhumed clothing means the clothing found in the coffin when the grave of the ancestor buried several hundred several hundred years ago is removed to another pla-ce and it is almost comprised of ordinary clothes of the grave-owner not mourning clothes as well as clothing and ornaments in the period between the 15th cen-tury and th 19th century. This research is intended to inquire into the kind of chimas in the 16th century before the Imjin Japancese Invasion of Korea during 1592-1598. The after effect of the Imjin Japanese In-vasion was generally reflected in clothing them and the structure of clothing in the Chosun dynasty began to overshadew its di-chotomy with the Imjin Japanese I vasion of Korea as the point. Accordingly this research is concerned with the study of the chima system of the early Chosun dynasty which shows that there is a common point of the identical form though clothing was exhumed in different graves. Therefore it was possible to grasp women's clothing that was fashionable at that time The object for research is the women in the upper class of the 16th century whose representative characteristics are depicted as follows: 1. Women in the upper class wore the splendid clothing similar to the ordinary clothing of court ladies. 2. The division of ordinary chima and ceremonial chima appeared in the concrete. 3. Ceremonial chima had its extra width and length and exhibited its exaggerated silhouette. in particular it had a various forms of over-pleats made at its center front which play a role in supplementing discomfort in walking. This associate bustle and crinolin styles through which the modern design of clothing can be glimpsed. 4. The opposite phenomenon was shown that has been perceived up to now such as folding at the right plain seam the treatment of the edge-and the like. 5. The elaboration of manual needlework shows the culmination of women's workmanship.

클래스 상속구조에 대한 경험적 복잡성 척도 (A Heuristic Metric for Measuring Complexity of Class Inheritance Structures)

  • 상속구조의 계층이 깊어질수록 재사용성은 좋으나 이해하기가 어려워지고 유지보수가 힘들어 진다. 반대로 계층이 얕을수록 추상성이 부족하나 이해성과 수정성이 좋아진다. 따라서 시스템의 유지보수성을 위해서는 깊은 상속구조를 분리하여 얕은 상속구조로 만드는 것이 바람직하다. 본 연구에서 제안한 복잡성 척도는 Chidamber and Kemerer의 상속구조에 관한 척도인 DIT(Depth of Inheritance Tree)와 NOC(Number Of Children)를 기초로 Li가 지적한 Chidamber and Kemerer 척도의 모호성을 해결한 통합적 척도로서, 클래스 상속구조의 복잡성 측정에 있어서 조상 클래스 수, 자손 클래스 수, 상속구조의 깊이를 고려한 간단하고 휴리스틱한 척도이다. 이는 상속구조의 분리에 있어서 복잡도를 정량적으로 평가할 수 있는 정보를 제공한다.

안동김씨모 출토 조선후기 원삼의 특징 (Charicteristics of Wonsam on An-dong Kim Clan's Tomb Relics in the later Chosun Dynasty)

  • Wonsam, a type of korean women's gown in Choseon Dynasty, was used as a small ceremonial costume for queens, crown princesses and princesses and as a grand ceremonial costume for royal concubines and wives of high rank officials. It was also worn as a wedding dress for commoners. In the families of illustrious officials, it was also used as burial accessories or garments for the dead. In this context, Wonsam is a formal dress for the people's most important four ceremonies of coming-of-age, marriage, funeral, and ancestor worship. It is worth emphasizing the costume since it was widely and importantly used by all ranks of women, from royal families to commoners. Through the Wonsam of An-dong Kim Clan's, we can see what the society was like at the end of Choseon Dynasty. First, a status system that strictly divided costumes for each class, was, in many parts, broken down. Second, the highly wrought patterns and texture of fabrics of the Wonsam reveal that it was granted from Court, or, if woven by the Kim family, it is considered to be produced by the Court's craftsman or through technical transfer, considering that the weaving skills used are as good as those in Courts. Third, regarding the precise needlework that is uncomparable to textiles used by other illustrious officials families, the Wonsam is considered to be granted from Court or, produced through the needlework skills that were handed down from needlewomen in Courts. The Wonsam of An-dong Kim Clan's has noble beauty in it, with outstanding weaving skills, fabrics, needlework and shape. Thus, it is no exaggeration to say that it has those qualities to be the standard costume that inherits the tradition of Korean people.

퇴계와 심경부주 (Toegye and Hsin-Cjing-fu-chu)

  • This study is the third partial study of the 'A Bibliographical Study of the Toegye.' The contents of the study is divided into three chapters as following : In the first chapter, the authorship of Hsin-ching-fu-chu(心經附註) is described Hsin-ching(心經) was edited by Chen-Te-Hsiu(眞德秀), a scholar of the Sung Dynasty (1178-1235A.D.). He selected several articles on Hsin Study(心學) from classics of ancient China, with the view of spreading of Hsin thought of ancestor. Hsin-ching-fu-chu is an annotated work of Hsin-ching, which was edited by $Ch'\^{e}ng-Min-Ch\^{e}ng$(程敏政). $Ch'\^{e}ng-Min-Ch\^{e}ng$ was a scholar of the Ming Dynasty (died 1499 A.D). His annotation of Hsin-ching was according to the edition of Tuan-Ping (端平) 1st (1234 A.D.). Hsin-ching-fu-chu which was first published in 1492 A.D., by his student, named Wang-Tsu(汪祚). In the second chapter, the editions of Hsin-ching-fu-chu which was published in Korea before 1566 A.D., when Toe-gye's postscript was written, are described. In Korea, three editions were published. The first was published before 1523 A.D. in, kwang-ju(光州), by the wooden plate block. The second was published ca 1564 A.D. in Pyeong-yang(平壤), by the wooden plate, too. These two editions have remained. The last was published ca 1564 A.D., in Hae-ju(海州), but the method of printing couldn't be found out because I have not been able to get the book itself and records on the printing. In the last chapter, facts on Hsin-ching-fu-chu related to Toegye are described. Toegye found Kwang-ju edition of Hsin-ching-fu-chu in 1533 A.D., at Seong-gyun-gwan(成均館) in Seoul. He acquired the book from his friend. He read and studied very hard and remembered all the text. Also, he taught the Hsin-ching-fu-chu to his pupils and guided the reading of Hsin-ching-fu-chu to his followers and student. He read many proof sheets of the new publication of Hsin-ching-fy-chu, correcting then on detail and making notes on them.

  • 본 연구에서는 예로부터 우리 선조들이 일상생활에서 즐겨 마시며 생활의 문화를 표현 하여 오고, 심신을 수련하며, 정신문화로 표현하여온 전통다문화를 문화 관광삼품으로서 개발하기 위하여 관광상품의 특성을 알아보고, 다문화 특성을 이해한 후에, 다문화를 관광상품의 특성에 적용시켜서 프로그램을 구성하고 실행하여 보았다. 다문화 관광상품의 프로그램은 마중, 다자료실 차사발실 복식실로 이루워진 한국다박물관 관람, 다도시연 및 음다, 다례시연체험 다식만들기 체험 복식체험 도자 만들기 체험 자연염색체험으로 이루워진 선택 가능한 등의 다문화 체험, 배웅으로 구성하여, 실제로 일본, 중국, 미국, 유럽 각국의 관광객들에게 프로그램을 실시해 보았다. 이 프로그램 에 참가한 관광객들의 만족도를 아직까지 객관적 자료로 평가하지 못하였지만 표면적으로 관광객의 반응은 다문화를 중심으로한 우리민족의 유.무형의 문화를 직접체험하므로써 한국의 전통문화에 대한 독특성과 우수성에 대한 진정한 이해를 하게 되었고, 우리 민족의 매력적이고 차별화된 문화관광의 프로그램을 개발하여 한국 문화관광 상품의 경쟁력있는 모형을 구축하는데 기여하고자 하였다.
