The site of the synthesis of Japanese encephalitis virus(JEV) in the actinomycin-treated and infecter PS Y15 cells(a porcine kidney stable cell line) was observed by the immunofluorescent antibody technique, acridine orange staining, and the autoradiographic analysis. In the parallel studies by immunofluorescent technique and acridine orange staining it the infected cells, Viral protein(as an antigen) and viral RNA were detected at the same site of cytoplasm. In the autoradiographic analysis, the cytoplasmic labeling of $^3H$-uridine was due to the synthesis of JEV-RNA, while the nucleolus and nucleus were not involved. In the autoradiographic studies on the secton of infected cells, the $^3H$-uridine was frequently incorporated around the cytoplasmic vacuoles. This localization of labeling agreed with the site of acridine orange positive granules. The results suggest that the syntheses of the viral RNA and viral protein occurred in the similar site of cytoplasm of the infected cells, and also the virus particles seem to be assembled in the sites of the viral RNA and protein syntheses.
Mouse mammary epithelial cells(NMuMG) were maintained onto 6-well plates (3$\times$105 cells/well) or chambered slide (1$\times$104 cells/well), in DMEM supplemented with 10% fetal calf serum. After serum starvation for 24 hours, DMNB (1$\mu$M) was added and exposed to UV light (300nm, 3 second pulse) after 2 hours from DMNB addition in order to activate DMNB which induces a rapid transient increase in intracellular cAMP upon UV irradiation. EGF (100ng/ml) and/or IGF-I (10ng/ml) were treated at the time of UV irradiation. Nuclear labeling index was estimated as percent of nuclear labeled cells(percent of S phase of cells) by incorporation of 3H-thymidine into DNA(1 hour pulse with 1$\mu$Ci/ml). DMNB(1$\mu$M), EGF (100ng/ml) and/or IGF-I (10ng/ml) signifciantly increased nuclear labeling index than those of control (P<0.05). Addition of DMNB+EGF or DMNB+EGF+IGF-I showed the interaction effect in nuclear labeling index (P<0.05). Protein kinase A activities by addition of EGF, IGF-I or EGF+IGF-I were 10.5, 9.8 or 9.4 unit/mg protein, respectively, and no statistical difference was found in comparison with control (P>0.05). Additon of DMNB+EGF showed the moderate interaction effect on tyrosyl kinase activity (P<0.1). In the fluorography analysis, there were no specific protein phosphorylation patterns were found at 1 or 15 minute by addition of DMNB. EGF and/or IGF-I. These results suggest that the interaction effect in nuclear labeling index by addition DMNB and EGF could be mediated through the modulation of tyrosyl kinase activity by cAMP.

In this paper, we propose a tongue diagnosis system for determining the presence of specific taste crack area as a first step in the digital tongue diagnosis system that anyone can use easily without special equipment and expensive digital tongue diagnosis equipment. Training DB was developed by the Haar-like feature, Adaboost learning on the basis of 261 pictures which was collected in Oriental medicine. Tongue candidate regions were detected from the input image by the learning results and calculated the average value of the HUE component to separate only the tongue area in the detected candidate regions. A tongue area is separated through the Connected Component Labeling from the contour of tongue detected. The palate regions were divided by the relative width and height of the tongue regions separated. Image on the taste area is converted to gray image and binarized with each of the average brightness values. A crack in the presence or absence was determined via Connected Component Labeling with binary images.

Semantic role labeling (SRL) is a task in natural-language processing with the aim of detecting predicates in the text, choosing their correct senses, identifying their associated arguments, and predicting the semantic roles of the arguments. Developing a high-performance SRL system for a domain requires manually annotated training data of large size in the same domain. However, such SRL training data of sufficient size is available only for a few domains. Constructing SRL training data for a new domain is very expensive. Therefore, domain adaptation in SRL can be regarded as an important problem. In this paper, we show that domain adaptation for SRL systems can achieve state-of-the-art performance when based on structural learning and exploiting a prior model approach. We provide experimental results with three different target domains showing that our method is effective even if training data of small size is available for the target domains. According to experimentations, our proposed method outperforms those of other research works by about 2% to 5% in F-score.
The necessity of selecting food based on correct information through nutrition ingredients included in the food is being emphasized due to the recent increase in interest of restaurant users in healthy and safe food. This study verified the structural causal relationship among consumer attitude, use reason and health-consciousness regarding nutrition information labeling and their satisfaction and revisit intent. A total of 266 surveys conducted over restaurant users residing in the Busan area was used for the final analysis of the study to attain this study's objective. The suitability of the Structural Equation Modeling and organic causation relationship was verified through the statistics programs SPSS (V 23.0) and AMOS (V 21.0) in order to attain this study's objective, and the control effect of age has been verified. The results showed that a meaningful causal relationship was confirmed in all elements excluding consumer attitude. A control effect was also confirmed in the influential relationship between use reason and satisfaction level. The results of the study suggested that the nutrition information labeling system of restaurants provides practical implications and marketing strategies for restaurant managers and government policy makers.
DNA microarray analysis of gene expression in toxicogenomics typically requires relatively large amounts of total RNA. This limits the use of DNA microarray when the sample available is small. To confront this limitation, different methods of linear RNA amplification that generate antisense RNA (aRNA) have been optimized for microarray use. The target preparation strategy using amplified RNA in DNA microarray protocol can be divided into direct-incorporation labeling which resulted in cDNA targets (Cy-dye labeled cDNA from aRNA) and indirect-labeling which resulted in cRNA targets (i.e. Cy-dye labeled aRNA), respectively. However, despite the common use of amplified targets (cDNA or cRNA) from aRNAs, no systemic assessment for the use of amplified targets and bias in terms of hybridization performance has been reported. In this investigation, we have compared the hybridization performance of cRNA targets with cDNA targets from aRNA on a 10 K cDNA microarrays. Under optimized hybridization conditions, we found that 43% of outliers from cDNA technique and 86% from the outlier genes were reproducibly detected by both targets hybridization onto cDNA microarray. This suggests that the cRNA labeling method may have a reduced capacity for detecting the differential gene expression when compared to the cDNA target preparation. However, further validation of this discordant result should be pursued to determine which techniques possesses better accuracy in identifying truly differential genes.
Food allergy is a chronic disease that is increasing all over the world, and it can even lead to a loss of life. To prevent any incidents resulting from food allergies, most countries keep strengthening their food allergen labeling requirements domestically and internationally, with a constant monitoring system against undeclared allergens and recall of offending products. In order to avoid economic losses to industry and damages to international relations from undeclared allergens, it is necessary to confirm each country's regulatory policy on food allergen labeling prior to exportation. Another required action is to try for a reduction of the cross-contamination risk of the allergens during manufacturing and storage, which should be verified by using an accurate and reliable analysis of food allergens. This paper is intended to provide an introduction to the regulation of food allergen labeling by country, allergen management methods to avoid cross-contamination, and allergen detection methods using ELISA, PCR, and LC/MS. Changes of allergenicity during thermal or nonthermal processing also will be investigated in our review. This review will be helpful for the food industry to better understand patients suffering from food allergies and to manage food allergens in food manufacturing.
This study explores the effects of various factors on the use of nutrition information on food away from home (FAFH). Consumer groups were classified into groups according to their perception of being overweight and obese (correctly perceiving, underestimating and overestimating weight). For this, frequency analysis, a chi-square test, and an ANOVA were conducted to determine any differences between factors, and a logit analysis (SPSS 18.0) was conducted to identify those factors influencing the use of information. Information recognition, intentions to use information and the use on FAFH showed significant differences across the groups. In addition, health inspection, the perception of the intrinsic quality of restaurants, labeling, FAFH expenditure, and some individual characteristics showed significant differences between groups. The information recognition of FAFH had a significant positive effect on information use in all groups. In all groups, labeling had a significant positive effect on information use, and family health concerns had a significant positive effect on information use in the group correctly perceiving weight. The price of domestic food items, household head and household income had significant positive effects on information use in the group overestimating weight.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the labeling of commercial protein bars in Korea and USA to develop Korean protein bars. Furthermore, we compared protein contents of products with daily protein intake, DRI, and AMDR. The protein bars were sampled in off- and on-line markets of both countries, with 17 in Korea and 113 in the US. As the results, since US products have bigger than one serving size than Korean ones, the intake of overall nutrients is higher, especially protein and sodium. Protein contents (per 100 g) of products in US were higher than those of Korea. The highest protein was soy protein isolate (SPI) in Korea and whey protein isolate (WPI) in the US. This is thought to be influenced by the preference and familiarity of food according to the country. In conclusion, since there are difference in eating habits, intake and preference of the protein source, it is necessary to develop suitable protein bars for Koreans. Therefore, this research provides the baseline of protein bars for consumers to choose products.
