Recently, the prevalence of remotely managed patient care systems in medical institutions is increasing due to COVID-19. In particular, in the case of fluid monitoring, hospitals are considering introducing it as a system that can reduce patient safety and nurses' work. There are two products under development: a load cell method that measures weight and a method that detects drops of sap by infrared sensing. Although each product has differences in operation principle, sensor type, size, usage, and price, medical institutions are highly interested in the accuracy of the data obtained. In this study, two prototypes with different sensor methods were manufactured and the total amount of infusion per hour was measured to test the accuracy, which is the core of the infusion monitoring device. In addition, when there was an external movement, the change in the measured value of the sap was tested to evaluate the accuracy according to the measurement method. As a result of the experiment, there was a difference of less than 5% in the measurement value error of the two devices, and the load cell method showed a difference in the low-capacity measurement value and the infrared method in the high-capacity measurement value. As a result of this experiment, there was little difference in accuracy according to the sensor method of the infusion monitoring device, and it is considered that there is no problem in accuracy when used in a medical institution.
The high-level Space Situational Awareness (SSA) objective is to provide to the users dependable, accurate and timely information in order to support risk management on orbit and during re-entry and support safe and secure operation of space assets and related services. Therefore the risk assessment for the re-entry of space objects should be managed nationally. In this research, the Software for Re-Entry Prediction of space objects (SREP) was developed for national SSA system. In particular, the rate of change of the drag coefficient is estimated through a newly proposed Drag Scale Factor Estimation (DSFE), and is used for high-precision orbit propagator (HPOP) up to an altitude of 100 km to predict the re-entry time and position of the space object. The effectiveness of this re-entry prediction is shown through the re-entry time window and ground track of space objects falling in real events, Grace-1, Grace-2, Tiangong-1, and Chang Zheng-5B Rocket body. As a result, through analysis 12 hours before the final re-entry time, it is shown that the re-entry time window and crash time can be accurately predicted with an error of less than 20 minutes.

In order to efficiently analysis the stability of a slope, measuring the shear strength of soil is needed. The Standard Penetration Test (SPT) is not appropriate for a slope inspection due to cost and weights. One of the ways to effectively measure the N-value is the Dynamic Cone Penetration Test (DCPT). This study was performed to develop a minimized multi-function sensors that can easily estimate CPT values and Volumetric Water Content. N value with multi-fuction sensor DCPT showed -2.5 ~ +3.9% error compared with the SPT N value (reference value) in the field tests. Also, the developed multi-fuction sensor system was tested the correlation between the CPT test and the portable tester with indoor test. The test result showed 0.85 R2 value in soil, 0.83 in weathered soil, and 0.98 in mixed soil. As a result of the field test, the multi-function sensor shows the excellent field applicability of the proposed sensor system. After further research, it is expected that the portable multi-function sensor will be useful for general slope inspection.
The mobility handicapped are representative socially vulnerable people who account for a high percentage of our society. Due to the recent development of technology, personalized welfare technologies for the socially vulnerable are being studied, but it is relatively insufficient compared to the general people. In this study, we intend to implement a personalized restaurant recommendation system for the mobility handicapped. To this end, a hybrid recommendation system was implemented by combining the data of special transportation boarding and alighting history (7,153 cases) and information of Daegu Food restaurants (955 cases). In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the implemented recommendation system, we conducted performance comparisons with existing recommendation systems by prediction error rate and recommendation coverage. As a result of the analysis, the performance was higher than that of the existing recommendation system, and the possibility of a personalized restaurant recommendation system for the mobility handicapped was confirmed. In addition, we also confirmed the correlation in which similar restaurants are recommended in some types of the mobility handicapped. As a result of this study, it is judged that it will contribute to the use of restaurants with high satisfaction for the mobility handicapped, and the limitations of the study are also presented.

Recently, the insulaton design standards for reducing the energy use of buildings have been strengthened. Althoug insulation work is the most cost-effective method for reducing the primary energy consumption per unit area of a building, there are no evaluation criteria for insulation performance at the time of construction and completion inspection. The purpose of this study is to provide objective data by establishing a standard for an analysis method and a method for easily experimenting with the exterior wall thermal transmittance of an apartment house using a thermal transmittance measuring device(TESTO 435). For the exterior wall of the test subject, the specific heat per unit area exceeded 20kJ/(m2·K), and the data at the end point suitable for ISO 9869-1 were analyzed by the average method. The measured values of the thermal transmittance for 3 consecutive days converged within +5% of the desing value, and the standard deviation of the thermal transmittance by day decreased in the order of 1-Day > 3-Day > 2-Day. The standard deviation of the thermal transmittance by time period decreased in the order of 00:00~24:00 < 19:00~07:00 < 00:00~07:00. The measured value of the thermal transmittance for the time perion of 00:00 to 07:00 per day almost coincided with an error of -3% to + 2% compare to the desing value.

The restoration of the Nakdong River estuary is one of the most important projects of the Ministry of Environment, Republic of Korea. A real-scale experiment of gate operation was executed from 2019 to 2020, and a pilot operation was performed in 2021. The gate of Nakdong River Estuary Barrier (NEB) is supposed to be continuously opened based on the experiment results. Many critical decisions should be made immediately during the experiment based on the real-time measured data and numerical analysis considering the seawater inflows. The decision-making sequence was made systematically with the accurate estimation of seawater inflow. The estimation of seawater inflow is the main research objective and the equations of seawater inflow were developed, reflecting the structural characteristics of NEB. The inflow equations were developed in two forms, overflow and underflow. ADCP (Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler) was used to measure seawater inflow, check the accuracy of the developed equations, and derive the flow coefficient. The comparison error of the developed equations was about 3% compared to the measured data.

Streamflow prediction is a very vital disaster mitigation approach for effective flood management and water resources planning. Lately, torrential rainfall caused by climate change has been reported to have increased globally, thereby causing enormous infrastructural loss, properties and lives. This study evaluates the contribution of rainfall to streamflow prediction in normal and peak rainfall scenarios, typical of the recent flood at Piney Resort in Vernon, Hickman County, Tennessee, United States. Daily streamflow, water level, and rainfall data for 20 years (2000-2019) from two USGS gage stations (03602500 upstream and 03599500 downstream) of the Piney River watershed were obtained, preprocesssed and fitted with Long short term memory (LSTM) model. Tensorflow and Keras machine learning frameworks were used with Python to predict streamflow values with a sequence size of 14 days, to determine whether the model could have predicted the flooding event in August 21, 2021. Model skill analysis showed that LSTM model with full data (water level, streamflow and rainfall) performed better than the Naive Model except some rainfall models, indicating that only rainfall is insufficient for streamflow prediction. The final LSTM model recorded optimal NSE and RMSE values of 0.68 and 13.84 m3/s and predicted peak flow with the lowest prediction error of 11.6%, indicating that the final model could have predicted the flood on August 24, 2021 given a peak rainfall scenario. Adequate knowledge of rainfall patterns will guide hydrologists and disaster prevention managers in designing efficient early warning systems and policies aimed at mitigating flood risks.

Objective: The identification of nonlinear mixed models that describe the growth trajectory of New Zealand rabbits was performed based on weight records and carcass measures obtained using ultrasonography. Methods: Phenotypic records of body weight (BW) and loin eye area (LEA) were collected from 66 animals raised in a didactic-productive module of cuniculture located in the southern Piaui state, Brazil. The following nonlinear models were tested considering fixed parameters: Brody, Gompertz, Logistic, Richards, Meloun 1, modified Michaelis-Menten, Santana, and von Bertalanffy. The coefficient of determination (R2), mean squared error, percentage of convergence of each model (%C), mean absolute deviation of residuals, Akaike information criterion (AIC), and Bayesian information criterion (BIC) were used to determine the best model. The model that best described the growth trajectory for each trait was also used under the context of mixed models, considering two parameters that admit biological interpretation (A and k) with random effects. Results: The von Bertalanffy model was the best fitting model for BW according to the highest value of R2 (0.98) and lowest values of AIC (6,675.30) and BIC (6,691.90). For LEA, the Logistic model was the most appropriate due to the results of R2 (0.52), AIC (783.90), and BIC (798.40) obtained using this model. The absolute growth rates estimated using the von Bertalanffy and Logistic models for BW and LEA were 21.51g/d and 3.16 cm2, respectively. The relative growth rates at the inflection point were 0.028 for BW (von Bertalanffy) and 0.014 for LEA (Logistic). Conclusion: The von Bertalanffy and Logistic models with random effect at the asymptotic weight are recommended for analysis of ponderal and carcass growth trajectories in New Zealand rabbits. The inclusion of random effects in the asymptotic weight and maturity rate improves the quality of fit in comparison to fixed models.
Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and sensor technologies are rapidly developing and being usefully utilized for spatial information-based agricultural management and smart agriculture. Until now, there have been many difficulties in obtaining production information in a timely manner for large-scale agriculture on reclaimed land. However, smart agriculture that utilizes sensors, information technology, and UAV technology and can efficiently manage a large amount of farmland with a small number of people is expected to become more common in the near future. In this study, we evaluated the productivity of forage maize grown on reclaimed land using UAV and sensor-based technologies. This study compared the plant height, vegetation cover ratio, fresh biomass, and dry biomass of maize grown on general farmland and reclaimed land in South Korea. A biomass model was constructed based on plant height, cover ratio, and volume-based biomass using UAV-based images and Farm-Map, and related estimates were obtained. The fresh biomass was estimated with a very precise model (R2 =0.97, root mean square error [RMSE]=3.18 t/ha, normalized RMSE [nRMSE]=8.08%). The estimated dry biomass had a coefficient of determination of 0.86, an RMSE of 1.51 t/ha, and an nRMSE of 12.61%. The average plant height distribution for each field lot was about 0.91 m for reclaimed land and about 1.89 m for general farmland, which was analyzed to be a difference of about 48%. The average proportion of the maize fraction in each field lot was approximately 65% in reclaimed land and 94% in general farmland, showing a difference of about 29%. The average fresh biomass of each reclaimed land field lot was 10 t/ha, which was about 36% lower than that of general farmland (28.1 t/ha). The average dry biomass in each field lot was about 4.22 t/ha in reclaimed land and about 8 t/ha in general farmland, with the reclaimed land having approximately 53% of the dry biomass of the general farmland. Based on these results, UAV and sensor-based images confirmed that it is possible to accurately analyze agricultural information and crop growth conditions in a large area. It is expected that the technology and methods used in this study will be useful for implementing field-smart agriculture in large reclaimed areas.

This study was conducted to derive the fresh weight and dry weight estimation formulas of Pinus densiflora and prepare a weight table using them. Aone-variable formula using only the diameter at breast height (DBH) and a two-variable formula using DBH and height were used to calculate the fresh and dry weight. Each equation was verified using statistics, such as fit index, standard error, and residuals. Theoptimal equation was evaluated for applicability by calculating the weight as a coefficient derived from a statistical verification. W = bD+cD2 was selected for the one-variable equation, while W = aDbHc was selected for the two-variable equation. The fit index of the former was 0.87-0.92, while that of the latter was 0.94-0.98, both of which showed a good fit. A new weight table was prepared using the optimal estimation formula, and it was compared and analyzed with a previous weight table. Analysis results showed that Gangwon pine had higher values in the previous weight table, while pines in the central region had higher values in the newly created weight table.
