  • IEC 60287-3-2 standards suggests the selection method of economic conductor size for power cables. This method deals solely with the economic choice of conductor size based on joule losses. This paper introduces the method and example study which is proposed by IEC standards.

  • Generally, Invar alloy shows very low thermal expansion characteristics, lower than $2{\times}10^{-6}$/K approximately. To apply Fe-Ni-Co-C Invar alloy as a core material for large ampacity transmission line we studied the effects of magnetic properties on coefficient of thermal expansion. The coefficient of thermal expansion(CTE) suddenly decreases with addition of a little carbon(0.08%), increases with the increasing carbon and has a constant value at the composition over than 1.0%C. The trend of Curie temperature change with carbon is similar with that of CTE. Therefore, the CTE has a linear relationship with Curie temperature. However, the CTE linearly decreases with the ratio of saturation magnetization and Curie temperature(${\sigma}_s/T_c$).

  • This paper introduces the real-time soil thermal property analyzer and temperature measuring system which is combined with radio telecommunication technique. To measure the thermal parameters in real-time, the radio telecommunication technique are used the personal communication service (PCS) which is in the world-wide serviced commercially firstly by CDMA. The thermal property analyzer has an ability of measuring thermal resistivity, thermal diffusivity and thermal stability. To estimate the soil thermal properties, the curve fitting algorithm by means of the least square method are used. TCP/IP protocol and MTM are used to install the real-time soil thermal property and temperature measurement system at multiple locations along routes of the underground power cables and to reduce the cost of telecommunication.

  • In case the overload of an existing power line is expected as the consumption of electric power increase, we substitute STACIR/AW which has better thermal characteristic for ACSR. That can approximately double the transmission capacity. In that case the mechanical characteristics of STACIR/AW should meet the design condition of the existing tower. However, the strength of invar in STACIR/AW is lower than that of steel in ACSR, which makes it difficult to keep the safety of a conductor specially in a long span In this regard, this paper presents the new conductor model using the AMC and the analysis of its characteristics.

  • 국내 도심지 전력계통망을 구성하고 있는 지중송전선로는 345kV, 154kV XLPE 케이블로 건설되고 있다. 도심지의 확장과 수요증가로 선로의 대용량화, 대도체화가 진행되고 있고, 송전용량 증대를 위한 신기술도 역시 지속 발전하고 있다. 새로운 신자재, 신공법이 아닌 케이블 재배치, 매설심도 조정 등 시스템 디자인을 통해 허용전류를 극대화하고, 경제적인 대용량 송전선로를 구축하기 위하여 연구한 송전케이블의 관로 최적시공방안을 소개하고자 한다.

  • The real-time dynamic rating system(DRS) can provide the maximum ampacity within required periods, so it can help the transmission-line operation more safely and efficiently. Because the conductor temperature is the main limit of increasing rating current, conductor temperature monitoring(CTM) technology is the basic to DRS. In this paper, real-time CTM was developed for 345kV XLPE cable in tunnel and we have also compared the CTM result of this study with the result according to IEC 287 and JCS 168 thermal parameters.

  • To study invar alloy as a core material for large ampacity over-head transmission line which have high strength and low thermal expansion coefficient simultaneously, thermal expansion coefficient, physical properties and hardness of Fe-Ni-Co-xC alloy have been studied. It is necessary that invar alloy possess low thermal expansion coefficient and high strength for increased capacity over-head transmission line. In this paper we tried to find out the effect of carbon addition related with mechanical and physical properties. It was found that the thermal expansion coefficient and hardness were increased with carbon addition for whole composition range but the saturation magnetization was decreased except for the range of 0.1$\sim$0.4%C.

  • 최근 전력산업의 구조개편, 선로건설의 어려움, 송전선로의 노후화, 선로용량 취약개소의 상시감시 필요성 등으로 인하여 선로의 허용 전류용량을 합리적으로 평가하는 한편, 도체의 허용전류를 실시간으로 산정하여 현재 운용상태와 비교하여 그 한계 및 여유 정도를 알아보는 것이 중요한 문제로 대두되었다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 연구의 일환으로 먼저 기상모델을 중심으로 실시간 허용전류 산정 알고리즘에 대하여 살펴보고, 대전 지역의 가공 송전선로를 대상으로 선로 주변의 기온, 풍속, 지형 정보를 이용하여 동적으로 허용전류를 산정하여 그 이용 가능성을 확인하였다.
