차세대 데이터센터를 위한 광 스위칭 기반 네트워크 기술 동향 (Trends in Optical Switching Based Network Technologies for Next-Generation Data Centers)

  • To accommodate the rapid increase in the amount of data traffic, the capacity of datacenters is expanding rapidly. Datacenter networks (DCNs) utilize electronic packet switches. However, the increases in the speed and capacity of electronic devices are slower than that of data expansion. Furthermore, electronics are too well developed to reach very near their physical limits. To achieve a breakthrough under this situation, optical switching schemes have been widely examined to replace or collaborate with incumbent electronic switches in a DCN. This report reviews the current status of such global researches on an optical DCN.

MPLS 망에서 복수 연결해제 타이머를 이용한 레이블 공간의 효율적 사용방법 (An Algorithm for Efficient use of Label Space over MPLS Network with Multiple Disconnent Timers)

  • 레이블 스위칭 기술은 격증하는 인터넷 서비스의 요구 대역폭을 만족시키기 위해 개발된 기술이다. 이중 multiprotocol label switching(MPLS)은 기존의 레이블 스위칭 기술을 통합하고 여러 장비제조 업체들간의 호환성을 보장하기 위해 IETF(Internet engineering task force)를 중심으로 표준화가 진행중이다. MPLS에서 레이블은 패킷의 스위칭에 사용되는 기본적인 단위이므로 이러한 레이블 공간이 각 레이블 스위칭 라우터를 어떻게 관리되고 효율적으로 사용되는가에 따라 MPLS망의 성능에 큰 영향을 미친다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 레이블 공간을 효율적으로 사용하기 위해 다중 도메인에서 레이블 스위칭 라우터의 연결 해제 타이머의 복수 사용을 제안한다. 이 방법은 패킷 분류기를 통해 트래픽의 특성에 따라 등급이 높은 트래픽에 대해서는 상대적으로 긴 연결 해제 타이머를 할당하여 새로운 연결에 걸리는 지연시간을 줄이고 3계층으로 라우팅 되는 패킷의 양을 줄이는 것이다. 제안된 방법을 실제 인터넷 망에서 수집된 트래픽 자료를 이용하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하였고 그 결과 MPLS망의 동작에 필요한 레이블 공간이 기존의 방법보다 감소하였음을 확인하였다.

노드 이중화를 위한 이중 프로세스 선형 보호 절체 방법 (Dual Process Linear Protection Switching Method Supporting Node Redundancy)

  • 현재 전달망의 핵심기술은 링크 또는 노드 장애가 발생했을 경우에 경로 이중화를 통해 50ms이내에 망을 복구하는 OAM 및 보호절체 기술이다. 개별 통신사업자, 지방/중앙 정부, 중요 기업의 전달 망은 장애에 대한 실시간 망 복구를 위해 보호 서브네트워크를 개별적으로 설정, 관리되고 있다. 그래서 개별 보호 서브네트워크의 종단 노드에 대해 노드 이중화를 적용하여 종단 노드 장애에 대해 대비하는 것이 중요하다. 하지만 MPLS-TP, 캐리어 이더넷과 같은 패킷 전달망에서 선형 보호절체가 적용되는 보호 서브네트워크는 이중 노드 상호 연결 방안이 존재하지 않는다. 비록 이더넷 링 보호절체는 이중 노드 상호 연결방안을 포함하고 있지만 이더넷 링 보호절체의 기술적 특성상 연결 노드에서 장애가 발생하면 전이 트래픽이 급격하게 증가될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 보호 서브네트워크에서 연결 노드 이중화를 위한 선형 보호절체 적용 방안을 제시한다. 그리고 링크와 상호 연결 노드의 장애에 대한 여러 실험을 통해 제안된 선형 보호와 링 보호 프로세스의 다양한 조합이 어떻게 다중 보호 서브네트워크에서 서비스 트래픽의 복구 탄력성에 영향을 미치는 지를 분석한다.

Joint Time Delay and Angle Estimation Using the Matrix Pencil Method Based on Information Reconstruction Vector

  • A single snapshot data can only provide limited amount of information so that the rank of covariance matrix is not full, which is not adopted to complete the parameter estimation directly using the traditional super-resolution method. Aiming at solving the problem, a joint time delay and angle estimation using matrix pencil method based on information reconstruction vector for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal is proposed. Firstly, according to the channel frequency response vector of each array element, the algorithm reconstructs the vector data with delay and angle parameter information from both frequency and space dimensions. Then the enhanced data matrix for the extended array element is constructed, and the parameter vector of time delay and angle is estimated by the two-dimensional matrix pencil (2D MP) algorithm. Finally, the joint estimation of two-dimensional parameters is accomplished by the parameter pairing. The algorithm does not need a pseudo-spectral peak search, and the location of the target can be determined only by a single receiver, which can reduce the overhead of the positioning system. The theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the estimation accuracy of the proposed method in a single snapshot and low signal-to-noise ratio environment is much higher than that of Root Multiple Signal Classification algorithm (Root-MUSIC), and this method also achieves the higher estimation performance and efficiency with lower complexity cost compared to the one-dimensional matrix pencil algorithm.

  • A layout design concept which suppress the substrate current generated during the switching transients of an CMOS inverter is presented. The amount of hot carriers and the peak value of substrate current can be reduced by changing the device geometry ratio of driver and load device of an CMOS inverter.

  • In this paper, we propose a new longitudinal controller of automated vehicles. The controller is designed based on a sliding control method, which is known to be robust to disturbances and modelling errors. Contrary to currently available sliding controller, a switching controller gain method is suggested. It is shown throughout simulations that the proposed controller reduces the amount of overshoot, which may derive smoother velocity tracking in a platoon.

  • The cell loss probability recommended in the B-ISDN is in the range of 10$^{-8}$ ~ 10$^{-12}$ . When a simulation technique is used to analyze the performance of the ATM switching system, an enormous amount of computer time is required. In this study, we derive an importance sampling simulation technique that can be used to evaluate the loss probability obtained by the importance sampling simulation is very close to that obtained by the ordinary simulation and the computer time can be reduced drastically by the importance sampling simulation.

  • Mass-analyzed threshold ionization (MATI) technique is optimized to generate substantial amount of state-selected molecular ions sufficient for dynamics study. The main strategy is to stabilize intermediate (n = 100- 200) Rydberg states by l,m-mix ing induced by AC field. Electrical jitter inherent in high voltage switching is utilized for this purpose. A related technique to locate the MATI onset is also described.

  • A high performance interleaved bridgeless boost power factor correction (PFC) rectifier operating under the critical current conduction mode (CrM) is proposed in this paper to improve the efficiency and system performance of various applications, such as nano-grid systems. By combining the interleaved technique with the bridgeless topology, the circuit contains two independent branches without rectifier diodes. The branches operate in interleaved mode for each respective half-line period. Moreover, when operating in CrM, all the power switches take on soft-switching, thereby reducing switching losses and raising system efficiency. In addition, the input current flows through a minimum amount of power devices. By employing a commercial PFC controller, an effective control scheme is used for the proposed circuit. The operating principle of the proposed circuit is presented, and the design considerations are also demonstrated. Simulations and experiments have been carried out to evaluate theoretical analysis and feasibility of the proposed circuit.

Enhancing Medical Images by New Fuzzy Membership Function Median Based Noise Detection and Filtering Technique

  • In recent years, medical image diagnosis has growing significant momentous in the medicinal field. Brain and lung image of patient are distorted with salt and pepper noise is caused by moving the head and chest during scanning process of patients. Reconstruction of these images is a most significant field of diagnostic evaluation and is produced clearly through techniques such as linear or non-linear filtering. However, restored images are produced with smaller amount of noise reduction in the presence of huge magnitude of salt and pepper noises. To eliminate the high density of salt and pepper noises from the reproduction of images, a new efficient fuzzy based median filtering algorithm with a moderate elapsed time is proposed in this paper. Reproduction image results show enhanced performance for the proposed algorithm over other available noise reduction filtering techniques in terms of peak signal -to -noise ratio (PSNR), mean square error (MSE), root mean square error (RMSE), mean absolute error (MAE), image enhancement factor (IMF) and structural similarity (SSIM) value when tested on different medical images like magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computer tomography (CT) scan brain image and CT scan lung image. The introduced algorithm is switching filter that recognize the noise pixels and then corrects them by using median filter with fuzzy two-sided π- membership function for extracting the local information.
