Industrial design has been need to made a new tool for human with adaptable to situation the age. But, at early America, it is very difficult that role of design settle down and progress than these days. It is not to he easy newly born in industrial design because of rapidly changing the America situation with multi settlers, the Depression and world wars. There was various design change in short period. So we called the step modern 1920 and the streamlined 1930. The study is background of American design by variety cultures & creatures from 1920s to 1930s. Some of Korea design has affected of America cultures at duration of 6.25 war and now. This study has included early culture & industrial life, designer activity, and at the part of rear new invention, industrial design relate to architect, four leading designers Walter Dorwin league, Norman Bel Geddes, Henry Dreyfuss, Raymond Loewy. In present world situation, It is important in all aspect to understand that early process at America industrial design. Early American culture is constructed from the building block of the puritan ethic and is sheathed by liberal mercantilism, today is became one stir it into the common molting pot.

Purpose The study aims to compare the online review writing behavior of users in China and the United States through text mining on online reviews' text content. In particular, existing studies have verified that there are differences in online reviews between different cultures. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to compare the differences between reviews written by Chinese and American tourists by analyzing text contents of online reviews based on cultural theory. Design/methodology/approach This study collected and analyzed online review data for hotels, targeting Chinese and US tourists who visited Korea. Then, we analyzed review data through text mining like sentiment analysis and topic modeling analysis method based on previous research analysis. Findings The results showed that Chinese tourists gave higher ratings and relatively less negative ratings than American tourists. And American tourists have more negative sentiments and emotions in writing online reviews than Chinese tourists. Also, through the analysis results using topic modeling, it was confirmed that Chinese tourists mentioned more topics about the hotel location, room, and price, while American tourists mentioned more topics about hotel service. American tourists also mention more topics about hotels than Chinese tourists, indicating that American tourists tend to provide more information through online reviews.
This article focused on contemporary American animation since the 1990s and later detailed clues to the theory that contemporary pop art style influenced contemporary American animation art creation expression and contemporary American animation. Knowing why American animation swept the world summarizes the art creation characteristics of modern American animation. After a combination of theoretical and actual animation works, the main manifestations of the postmodern pop art style in contemporary American animation: exaggerated and superficial shapes highlight character characteristics; rebellious colors reconstruct emotional perception; creation impacts the mass media-dependence; bizarre collage and repetition, embodying the postmodern pop spirit of jokes and spoofs, Etc. Through this, it is expected that the current analysis of American animation will provide new innovative ideas for domestic animation design and increase the competitiveness of domestic animation in international video animation.
The design of truss type sign support structures is based on the guidelines provided by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials Standard Specifications for Highway Signs, Luminaries and Traffic Signals and the American Institute of Steel Construction Design Specifications. Using these specifications, the column design strength is normally determined using the effective length approach. This approach does not always accurately address all issues associated with frame stability, including the actual end conditions of the individual members, variations of the loads in the members, and the resulting sidesway buckling for truss type sign support structures. This paper provides insight into the problems with the simplified design approach for determining the effective lengths and discusses different approaches for overcoming these simplifications. A system buckling approach, also known as a rational buckling analysis, is used in this study to determine improved predictions for design strength of truss type sign support structures.
The purpose of this study is (1) to present a model for Capstone design class in English education, and (2) to recognize students' performance and perceptions about Capstone design class in English education. The participants were senior students majoring in English education. The Capstone design class model was developed, applied, and evaluated after changing 'English-American Culture' subject to 'Capstone Design for English-American Culture Education.' In this study, the class design, performance procedures, derived topics, and examples of performance outcomes were presented. The classes were also evaluated through an understanding evaluation of English-American culture, task performance and final outcome evaluation, a descriptive satisfaction assessment of students, a lecture evaluation, and a teacher's self-reflection assessment. As the result, the average score of a class that applies Capstone design was higher than that of a class that does not apply the Capstone design. There were many positive opinions regarding the Capstone design class. In addition, the teacher's self-reflection indicated that students should be exposed to such design from the beginning.
This study introduces the concept of image/impression of a product design, human interface elements, and the relationships between them. It is assumed that the human interface can be decomposed into detailed design elements, called human interface elements. This study attempts to build functional relationships between the image/impression of a product and human interface elements. Two different human factors experiments were conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach suggested in this study. A total of 35 audio/visual consumer electronics products (e.g., CD players, VCRs) were shown on a display screen and the subjects were instructed to evaluate them in terms of eight image/impression dimensions. One experiment was conducted using Korean subjects while the other using American subjects. The functional relationships were modeled by using the multiple linear regression technique. Similarity and difference between the Korean and the American subjects were analyzed. The approach suggested in this study is expected to help designers and developers identify important design variables to enhance the subjective satisfaction of a product design.
This case study examines the experiences of an African American student's successful second language acquisition in Korea. There is an increasing number of multicultural families in Korea; but few research on African American students' second language learning. In the past, some American researchers have analyzed African American students as academic underachievers for learning and there is a scarcity of research on African American students' successfully acquiring a second language. With this qualitative research design, the researchers interviewed, and observed an African American girl named Mary. The researchers also interviewed Mary's mother, teacher, and peers about Mary's Korean language development. The results of this study revealed Mary's determined efforts to become a fluent Korean speaker with support from family, community and friends. Mary underwent unique social and systematic supports for her language development. This paper concludes with the educational implication for multicultural language learners in Korea and the possibility to diminish the common stereotypes of African Americans as underachievers.

This study examines the organic geometry in Isabel Toledo's collections in terms of the practicality of American sportswear tradition. This study conducts literary survey combined with case analysis of Toledo's works from her debut collection in 1985 to the recent ones. The organic geometry in Toledo's designs refers to the conversion of two-dimensional garment patterns into three-dimensional garment forms with the body as a medium, which is classified into the following categories in this study. First, 'fluidity' describes Toledo's highly fluid jersey dresses which maintain consistent structures by patchwork draping and suspension technique. Second, 'reductionist structure' illustrates that simple geometric shapes such as circles and squares disappear as soon as worn on the body. Third, 'origami construction' explains folding two-dimensional fabrics into three-dimensional forms, which causes the outlines of the body to appear abstract. Toledo's designs deliver the tradition of American sportswear through the organic geometry of garment construction. Toledo's works are authentic American in the aspects that they are functional and modern; they satisfy the practical needs, prioritize the movements of wearers, pursue multi-functions, and their ornamental elements are accompanied by the construction of garments. Isabel Toledo presents designs drawing on her unwavering aesthetics while continuously developing and experimenting creative ways of garment construction.
In this paper, an optimization process using Genetic Algorithm (GA) that mimics biological processes is presented for optimum design of planar frames with semi-rigid connections by selecting suitable standard sections from a specified list taken from American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). The stress constraints as indicated in AISC-LRFD (American Institute of Steel Construction - Load and Resistance Factor Design), maximum lateral displacement constraints and geometric constraints are considered for optimum design. Two different planar frames with semi-rigid connections taken from the literature are carried out first without considering concrete slab effects in finite element analyses and the results are compared with the ones available in literature. The same optimization procedures are then repeated for full and semi rigid planar frames with composite (steel and concrete) beams. A program is developed in MATLAB for all optimization procedures. Results obtained from this study proved that consideration of the contribution of the concrete on the behavior of the floor beams provides lighter planar frames.
