The concept of "set" in school mathematics has undergone many changes according to the revision of curriculum and the transition of the paradigm in mathematics education. In the discipline-centered curriculum, a set was a representative concept which reflected the spirit of New Math. After the Back to Basics period, the significance of a set concept in school mathematics has been diminished. First, this paper elaborated several controversial aspects of the terms related to set, such as a collection and a set, a subset, and an empty set. In addition, the changes of the significance imposed to a set concept in school mathematics were investigated. Finally, this paper provided two alternative approaches to introduce and explain a set concept which emphasized both mathematical rigor and learner's psychology.

The average increase in life expectancy obtained as a gift of modern science cannot hold itself responsible for extended life's happiness. It admits of no argument that the necessity of social preparation for minimizing bad health and longevity of unhappiness to aged people who are in the state of these continuous growth. Recently, because of an aging trend, targeting on elderly housing expected continuous increased demand in housing market, this study is to comprehend it's characteristic and offer implications. For the characteristic of elderly housing, firstly it needs scientific analysis of related theory and analysis of statistical data. Also this study aims to look through and suggest an alternative included the special matters of Korean society with advanced foreign country's analysis of an alternative. And judging from economic characteristics of elderly housing to be presented as an important factor, choices of housing according to economic level are anticipated to show different forms. In future, to supply elderly housing, therefore, the introduction of the concept of housing providing various opportunity of choice is necessary. If studies proceed through expanded alternative, it is judged to be able to draw more varied results in elderly housing. Also, if going along with political dimension study, it is expected to offer more specific and effective solutions of the problem of elderly housing.

디지털 게임의 장르는 고정 불변의 체계가 아닌, 수정과 변화를 거듭하는 생성적 체계이다. 본 연구는 디지털 게임의 장르에 대한 기존의 접근이 보편적 분류 체계의 도출에만 머물러 있었다는 문제의식 아래, 대안적 장르로 자리할 수 있는 사용자 태그의 가능성을 고찰한다. 디지털 게임의 대안적 장르는 다양한 장르 요소의 조합으로 표현되는 동시에 사용자의 장르 인식을 반영할 수 있어야 한다. 게임의 사용자 태그는 고전적 장르 개념을 가족유사성 기반의 범주화 과정으로 전환시키고, 사용자 주도의 상향식 장르 체계를 구축함으로써 대안적 장르의 형식을 실현한다. 대안적 장르로서의 사용자 태그는 장르 요소의 다중성을 통해 '작은' 장르를 확산시키며, 장르의 의사소통적 기능을 강화한다는 점에서 의미를 갖는다.

In the concept design stage of the product design process, it is desirable that a designer makes alternative designs sufficiently, examines and analyzes them, and finally determines an appropriate design. To efficiently investigate several alternative designs, it should be facilitated to modify the model and transfer the model data to analysis program. In this research, a concept design process for tank is automated using I-DEAS feature-based modeling system from SDRC. Additionally, the facility for the pre-estimation of the performance of product, the useful volume calculation, the mass calculation, the confirmation of the allowable workspae, and the interface to analysis propram are developed using API functions of OPen-link and Open-data. Graphic User Interface (GUI) makes it extrmely easy to utilize functions.

The use of snap-fit features is highly recommended to reduce overall product cost and manufacturing time by reducing the number of parts and eliminating assembly with conventional fasteners. Application to particular product for integral attachment using snap-fit features is needed. Alternative attachment concept for specific application has been introduced. In this study, the optimal attachment design based on the given design objectives is identified using newly developed alternative attachment concept for the specific application to LCD monitor case assembly. Integral attachment using snap-fit features applies the systematic procedure and the intensity analysis.

연속감속근사법(CSDA)과 감속평균선질계수를 이용하여 선량당량 정의에서의 본래의 LET분포 개념을 하전입자속 스펙트럼의 개념으로 변환함으로써 새로운 선량당량 산정법을 도출하였다. 이 산정법을 몬테칼로법에 적용함으로써 주어진 방사선장에 위치한 피사체 내에서의 선량당량을 직접적으로 간편하게 산출할 수 있다. 산정에 필요한 감속평균 선질계수는 중성자와 연조직과의 상호작용으로부터 발생될 수 있는 모든 하전입자에 대하여 10 MeV 이하의 에너지 범위에서 산출하여 제시하였다.

한국이나 미국 모든 지역에서 창업초기 투자가 활성화되고 이에 힘입은 엔젤투자가 급증하면서 엔젤투자의 투자와 전통적 VC 투자의 사이에 간극이 커지며 Series A Crunch 현상이 심화되고 있다. 따라서 엔젤투자의 투자와 전통적 VC 투자 사이에 존재하는 창업초기 투자펀드 캐즘구간(Series A Crunch)을 보완하며 양자 사이의 가교펀드(Bridge Fund) 역할을 하는 펀드에 대한 필요성이 증가하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 국내외 Series A Crunch 개념과 현상에 대한 초래원인을 분석하고 이를 극복하는 Micro VC펀드의 도입방안에 대한 정책방안을 제시하였다.

This study has the purpose to examine the elements of deducing site plan of contemporary architecture in Jeju by looking into the mainly used measures and value in establishing the site plan of contemporary architecture of Jeju. Being the initial decision making stage that serves as basis in creating design alternative and completes overall designing alternative frame, Site plan is the core stage of initial architectural planning. In addition, analysis of site plan concept the central overall idea for site plan offers the perspective to access the problem for solution in site plan. Therefore, through the analysis of elements to deduce the site plan concept of the contemporary architecture in Jeju, the characteristics of site plan concept that considered the placement and locality of Jeju can be objectively examined in planning out the site plan of contemporary architecture in Jeju, and such analysis results may become objective basic data in planning out the site plan of the contemporary architecture in Jeju.

The IHX (Intermediate Heat eXchanger) for a pool-type SFR (Sodium-cooled Fast Reactor) system transfers heat from the primary high temperature sodium to the intermediate cold temperature sodium. The upper structure of the IHX is a coaxial structure designed to form a flow path for both the secondary high temperature and low temperature sodium. The coaxial structure of the IHX consists of a central downcomer and riser for the incoming and outgoing intermediate sodium, respectively. The IHX of a pool-type SFR is supported at the upper surface of the reactor head with an IHX support structure that connects the IHX riser cylinder to the reactor head. The reactor head is generally maintained at the low temperature regime, but the riser cylinder is exposed in the elevated temperature region. The resultant complicated temperature distribution of the co-axial structure including the IHX support structure may induce a severe thermal stress distribution. In this study, the structural feasibility of the current upper support structure concept is investigated through a preliminary stress analysis and an alternative design concept to accommodate the IHTS (Intermediate Heat Transport System) piping expansion loads and severe thermal stress is proposed. Through the structural analysis it is found that the alternative design concept is effective in reducing the thermal stress and acquiring structural integrity.

This study attempted to explore parents'perceptions on character and character education for their children using a focus group interview method. According to previous research, the concept of character consists of wholeness of three components: relationship, individuality, and morality. This study investigated how parents' perception differ from the widely agreed concept of character. Forty-four mothers and ten fathers participated in eleven focus group interviews. The results showed that parents recognized social relationship and self realization as two most important components of character education of children. However, the parents paid less attention on morality and wholeness. The parents conceptualized character as an alternative to academic achievement. For example, they considered self realization as an alternative to academic achievement. These tendencies could be a barrier in character education in family. Based on these findings, this study recommends that parent education should take more attention on character education in family and help parents develop a balanced understanding on the concept of character.
