눈 속에서 용질이동을 모사하기 위한 수치모델의 검증 (Validations of a Numerical Model of Solute Transport in a Snowpack)

  • 겨울철동안 쌓여 봄에 놓은 눈 녹은 물(snowmelt), 즉 융설의 유출은 북반구 및 산간지역에서 매우 중요한 것으로 여겨지고 있다. 이러한 지역에서 융설로 인한 유동 및 이온의 이동에 대한 이해는 매우 중요하며 전세계적으로 꾸준하게 연구되고 있다. Lee et al. (2008a)와 Lee et al. (2008b)연구에서는 대기로부터 수송된 이온 및 오염원이 융설에 의해 눈속을 이동하는 것을 모사하기 위한 Mobile-Immobile water Model (MIM)을 개발하였다. 이 연구에 사용된 모델을 검증하기 위해서 물질수지계산(mass balance calculation) 및 해석해(analytical solution)를 이용한 모델결과와의 비교를 수행하였다. 일정시간동안 눈 속에서의 물질의 질량변화는 눈 표면에서 들어온 물질과 눈 기저부에서 빠져나간 물질의 질량 차이와 같아야한다는 사실을 이용하여 물질수지를 계산하였다. 파면(wave front)의 이동속도 및 기존문헌에서 알려진 해석 해를 이용하여 모델결과와의 비교도 시도하였다. 모델의 물질수지계산결과 질량 차이가 거의 발생하지 않았으며 모델결과와 해석해와의 비교 역시 두 결과가 거의 일치하였다.

Occurrence of Bean common mosaic virus (BCMV) Infecting Peanut in Korea

  • A virus causing vein banding, sometimes yellow mosaic and rugose symptoms on peanut was prevalent around Suwon, Korea. A survey conducted in the area found disease incidence, depending on cultivar, to range from 79 to $100\%$. The virus was found to be seed-transmissible in all the five peanut cultivars tested with transmission rates ranging from 2 to $16\%$. Host range analysis failed to differentiate 9 field isolates collected from different peanuts cultivars showing various symptoms. Inclusion bodies such as scroll, pinwheel and long laminated aggregates induced by the virus in host plant cells were similar to those induced by members of the Potyvirus subdivision III. The virus showed < $95\%$ homology with Bean common mosaic virus (BCMV), BCMV-BICMV/AzMV strains and only < $91\%$ with Desmodium mosaic virus. Based on biological characterization, electron microscopy and molecular analyses of a Korean isolate (Daewon 1), the virus was identified as peanut stripe strain of BCMV.

술패랭이꽃(Dianthus superbus)의 엽육원형질체로부터 식물체 재분화 (Plant Regeneration from Mesophyll Protoplasts of Dianthus superbus)

  • 술패랭이꽃의 엽육원형질체를 2.0mg/L NAA, 0.5 mg/L BAP 및 9%의 mannitol이 포함된 MSPI 9M 액체배지에서 배양하였다. 27$^{\circ}C$, 암조건에서 배양 3-4주일 후 활발한 분열과정을 거쳐 원형질체로부터 colony가 형성되었으며 이들colony는 연속광 (21.5 $\mu$Eㆍ $m^{-2}$ ㆍse $c^{-1}$)하에서 배양 2주일 후 직경 약 3 mm의 녹색 microcallus로 생장하였다. 녹색 microcallus는 2.0 mg/L 2,4-D가 첨가된 고체배지에서 배양30일 후 배발생 캘러스를 형성하였으며 이들 배발생 캘러스는 0.1 mg/L 2,4-D, 2.0 mg/L kinetin 및 2.0 g/L casein hydrolysate가 포함된 $N_{6-}$2 배지에서 캘러스당 10-15개의 multiple shoot의 분화가 이루어졌다. 재분화된 shoot는 2.0mg/L NAA가 포함된 MS 배지에서 뿌리가 유도되었으며 이들을 pot로 이식하여 재분화 개체를 획득할 수 있었다.

TLC-DM을 이용한 Rubus속 4종 식물의 Triterpenoid 함량 비교 (Comparison of Triterpenoid Contents of the Four Rubus Plants in Korea Using TLC-DM)

  • The extraction yield of the methanolic extracts and 19${\alpha}$-hydroxyursane-type triterpenoid (19${\alpha}$-HUT) fraction were investigated in the unripe and ripe fruits and the leaves of the four Rubus plants (Rubus coreanus, R. crataegifolius, R. phoenicolasius, R. pungens var. oldhami) to develop the biomaterial 19${\alpha}$-HUT mixture as functional foods. Thin layer chromatogaphy-Densitometer (TLC-DM) was used to analyze the individual quantity of 19${\alpha}$-HUTs using standard compounds (euscaphic acid, tormentic acid, 23-hydroxytormentic acid, kaji-ichigoside F$_1$, rosamultin, niga-ichigoside F$_1$). The content of methanolic extract of the fruits were higher in the ripe stage than in the unripe stage whereas the content of 19${\alpha}$-HUT mixture varied with each Rubus species. The Rubus plants containing the highest amount of 19${\alpha}$-HUTs in the leaves were R. coreanus, R. phoenicolasius and R. pungens var. oldhami while only R. cratagefolius showed the highest content in the ripe fruits. The mean of total genin content of 19${\alpha}$-HUTs was 0.94 mg/g; that of the glycosides was 0.60 mg/g. The genin quantity was found in the order of 23-hydroxytormentic acid> euscaphic acid> tormentic acid; the glycoside was observed in the order of niga-ichig-oside F$_1$> kaji-ichigoside F$_1$> rosmaultin, by which the biosynthetic pathway of 23-hydroxytormentic acid and its glucoside niga-ichigoside F$_1$ via the intermediates tormentic acid and/or rosamultin was presumed. It is also suggested that the ripe fruits of R. crataegifolius will be desirable to use as functional foods rather than unripe fruits.

중국(中國) 장백산(長白山)의 두메양귀비(Papaver radicatum var. pseudoradicatum) 개체군 생태에 관한 연구 (Ecological Characteristics of Papaver radicatum var. pseudoradicatum Population on Mt. Changbai in China)

  • This research conducted a vegetation survey on Mt. Changbai which are habitats of Papaver radicatum var. pseudoradicatum to obtain a basic data for artificial cultivation. The habitas of P. radicatum var. pseudoradicatum consisted of two communities as Dryas octopetala var. asiatica community and Aconogonon ajanense community. The community units as D. octopetala var. asiatica community and A. ajanense community belong to alpine vegetation in Mt. Changbai. A. ajanense community is distributed around altitude of 2007-2061m, and D. octopetala var. asiatica community is distributed altitude of 2350-2570m at relatively high elevation. According to the correlation between the vegetation structure and elevation. This vegetation structure can be simplified at the herb layer. The vegetation is classified into D. octopetala var. asiatica community and A. ajanense community on the axis 1 basis in the BC ordination analysis. Further, there appeared higher plant life totalling to 40 taxa comprising 35 species, 4 varieties and 1 forma with 20 families and 34 genuses at the whole survey area. Among these, Cyperaceae and Ericaceae plants excellent in resistance to environment was surveyed the most, accounting for 16%.

터널 내공 변위 거동 분석에 관한 연구 (A study on the interpretations of tunnel convergence function parameters)

  • 최근 3차원 절대 계측 기술의 발달을 통해 터널에서의 3차원 계측 기술의 도입 및 결과의 활용에 대한 연구가 다양하게 시도되고 있다. 이러한 계측분석을 통하여 이방성 암반에서 터널 굴착 시 암반의 구조적 거동 및 영향이 파악될 수 있으며, 그에 따른 적절한 지보도 결정되어 질 수 있다. 터널 축에 대하여 서로 다른 연약대 특성, 두께, 방향성을 가지는 암반에서의 굴착에 영향을 확인하기 위해 3차원 해석이 수행되었으며, 내공변위의 function parameter가 계산되었다. 수치해석 결과는 오스트리아 알프스 산악터널의 비균질한 암반에서의 계측 결과와 비교분석 되었다. 현장의 계측결과와 수치해석 결과의 상관도가 높게 나타났으며, 이를 토대로 function parameter의 변화를 통해 막장 전방의 지반을 예측하는 것이 가능한 것으로 나타났다.

Temperature Fluctuations Over the Past 2000 Years in Western Mongolia

  • Much of northern Asia is lacking in high-resolution palaeoclimatic data coverage. This vast region thus represents a sizeable gap in data sets used to reconstruct hemispheric-scale temperature trends for the past millennium. To improve coverage, we present a regional-scale composite of four tree-ring width records of Siberian pine and Siberian larch from temperature-sensitive alpine timber-line sites in Mongolia. The chronologies load closely in principal components analysis (PCA) with the first eigenvector accounting for over 53% of the variance from ad 1450 to 1998. The 20-year interval from 1974 to 1993 is the highest such growth period in this composite record, and 17 of the 20 highest growth years have occurred since 1946. Thus these trees, unlike those recently described at some northern sites, do not appear to have lost their temperature sensitivity, and suggest that recent decades have been some of the warmest in the past 500 years for this region. There are, however, comparable periods of inferred, local warmth for individual sites, e.g., in 1520-1580 and 1760-1790. The percent common variance between chronologies has increased through time and is highest (66.1%) in the present century. Although there are obvious differences among the individual chronologies, this result suggests a coherent signal which we consider to be related to temperature. The PCA scores show trends which strongly resemble those seen in recent temperature reconstructions for the Northern Hemisphere, very few of which included representation from Eurasia east of the Ural Mountains. The Mongolia series therefore provides independent corroboration for these reconstructions and their indications of unusual wanning during the twentieth century.

우리나라 농업기상재해의 공간 분포 및 지역 특성 분석 (Spatial Distribution and Regional Characteristics of Meteorological Damages to Agricultural Farms in Korea)

  • Along with global warming, ever intensifying weather events have increased damages to agricultural farms and facilities. The objective of this study was to investigate the spatial distribution and regional characteristics of agricultural damages by extreme weather events. Agricultural disaster statistics provided by the National Emergency Management Agency were summed over for a 13-year period from 1998 to 2010 and used for the spatial analysis. Two indices of damage area ration and property damage per unit area were introduced to quantify regional agricultural damages. As the results, farm inundation accounted for the largest area primarily damaged by typhoons with heavy rainfalls. Most property damages to farm lands originated from farm erosion in the alpine regions by localized guerrilla rains. The two major causes of damages to greenhouse and livestock facilities were typhoon with strong wind and winter blizzards. Gangwon was the province of the largest property loss mostly from farm land erosion losses, followed by Gyeongnam, Jeonnam, and Chungnam where losses to greenhouse and livestock facilities were relatively greater. Property loss per unit area was also the greatest for the Gangwon province (4.91 M\/ha), followed by Gyongnam and Chungnam of 2.20 and 1.50 M\/ha, respectively. Unit loss for greenhouse and livestock facilities was 13.3 M\/ha, approximately 13 times greater than that for farm land (1.06 M\/ha). The study findings indicated the importance of reducing highland farm erosion and reinforcing farming facilities structures for agricultural disaster management.

강원지방유우의 번식장해 발생실태 및 혈액학치에 관한 조사연구 I. 유우의 번식장해 발생실태 (Studies on the Occurence of Reproductive Disorder and Hematological Values of Dairy Cattle being raised in Kangweon District I. Occurrence of Reproductive Disorders of Dairy Cattle)

  • Holstein cows being raised in the Kangweon district were examined on the breeding status and occurrence of reproductive disorder. The results obtained were as follows; 1. The cows above six years old in the alpine area were raised more than those in high level zone and plate zone. 2. A total of 1,350 Holstein cows were examined on the breeding status. They were 71.9% conceived cows, 7.9% of uncertain1$\frac{1}{2}$ regnancy, 7.0 of physiological vacancy and 13.3 of reproductive disorder. 3. The percentage of cows conceived by 1, 2, 3 and more than 4 times of A.I. was 49.9, 29.2, 13.3 and 7.6, respectively. 4. In the nutritional condition of infertile coes, excellent, good, fair and poor were 6.7, 30.2, 34.1 and 29.1, respectively. In the good and fair nutritional condition, the cows of ovarian syndrome were 15.6% of persistent corpus luteum, and 11.7% of follicular cystic ovary and lutein cystic ovary, respectively. 5. Among 179 inferTile cows, distributions of reproductive disorder were 43.0, 39.1, 3.9, 3.9 and 10.1% in ovary, uterus vagina, oviduct and others, respectively. Ovary showed higher percentage than any other reproductive organs. Among the ovarian syndromes, follicular cystic ovary, lutein cystic ovary and persistent corpus luteum were 28.6, 28.6 and 23.4%, respectively. 6. A cow group of six and seven-year old showed the highest percentage(21.0% and 23.3%) among the age groups in infertile cows. In the syndrome of reproductive disorder, catarrhal endometritis, latent endometritis, follicular cystic ovary and lutein cystic ovary were 14.5, 14.0, 12.3 and 12.3%, respectively. 7. Infertile cows with complex syndrome of genital disease was 31.8%.

배양액 내의 Selenate 이온농도가 웜우드(Artemisia absinthium L.)의 생육 및 정유함량에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Selenate Ion Concentration in Nutrient Solution on the Growth and Essential Oil Content of Wormwood( Artemisia absinthium L.))

  • 본 실험은 고기능성 채소 생산을 위한 배양액내의 적정 셀레니움 농도를 구명하고자 수행되었다. 벨기에의 채소연구소에서 허브재배를 위해 개발된 양액을 이용하여 각각 $Na_2$SeO$_4$를 0, 2, 4, 6, 8mg/$\ell$농도로 처리하였다. 배양액내 셀레니움의 농도가 국화과 식물인 향쑥의 생육에 미치는 영향을 알아본 결과 저농도의 처리는 생육을 향상시켰으나 6mg/$\ell$이상의 고농도 처리는 생육을 감소시켰다. 엽록소의 함량은 셀레니움 처리에 의해 증가되었는데 배양액 내의 selenate ion 농도가 높을수록 전체 엽록소함량도 증가되었다. 비타민 C의 함량은 좋은 생장을 보였던 4mg/$\ell$처리까지는 증가하였으나 그 이상으로 농도가 증가했을 때 비타민C의 함량은 감소하였다. 저농도의 selenate 이온 농도는 정유의 함량을 증가시켰으나 고농도에서는 정유의 함량이 감소되었다. 식물에 의한 셀레니움의 흡수는 배양액내의 selenate 이온 농도가 증가할수록 촉진되었다.
