  • In this study, the impact of the fashion design education on the brain wave and the psychological change of the senior females and its change was intended to analyze. 16 senior females were selected as a subject and the brain wave and the psychology were analyzed before and after the educational program of 4 hours a day for total 3 weeks. Out of the brain wave, the increase of alpha wave represents the mental stability and the comfortable state and its decrease represents the tension and stress. On the contrary, the increase of beta wave represents the tension and the excitation. In the brain wave analysis results, the alpha wave was increased and the beta wave was decreased after the design education program, through which it is deemed that the design education would help to increase the psychological stability and to decrease the tension and the stress in the senior females. In the results of analyzing the psychological test, while the test results for 4 senior females were shown as anxious out of 16 senior females, the BAI score was decreased to 'minor anxiety' after the education and the BAI score was decreased except 2 subjects, through it is deemed that the fashion design education would help to reduce the anxiety in the senior females and it seems that it is coincided with the beta wave analysis results.

  • Objectives : The primary purpose of this study was to examine the effect of manual acupuncture at the $LI_4$, $ST_{36}$ and $LR_3$ on normal human EEG (Electroencephalogram). And the secondary purpose of this study was to analyze the relationships between the change of EEG wave form using correlation analysis. Methods : 32 channel EEG measurement was carried out in 25 healthy participants (23 males and 2 females). EEG was measured for 21 minutes including 15 minutes of retention time. In this study, power spectrum was used as a measure of complexity. Statistical analysis was performed using Spearman correlation. Results : The results were as follows; 1. In C4, O1, Fz, Pz, Cz, FCz, CP4, FC4, TP7, FT7 among 32 electrodes, ${\delta}$, $\theta$ and ${\beta}$ wave increased during 0-3 time intervals, and especially in case of TP7, FT7 ${\alpha}$ wave spontaneously decreased during 12~15 time intervals in manipulation group. 2. Between $\theta$ and ${\beta}$ wave and $\theta$ and ${\delta}$ wave, there was statistically significant positive correlation in C4, O1, Fz, Pz, Cz, FCz, CP4, FC4, TP7, FT7 according to Spearman correlation analysis. 3. Between ${\alpha}$ and ${\beta}$ wave, there was statistically significant positive correlation in TP7, FT7 according to Spearman correlation analysis. Conclusions : These results suggest that TP7 and FT7 could be typical electrodes representing change of EEG after manipulated acupuncture at the $LI_4$, $ST_{36}$ and $LR_3$. The relationships between the change of EEG wave form appear to have statistically significant positive correlation between $\theta$ and ${\beta}$ wave, $\theta$ and ${\delta}$ wave and ${\alpha}$ and ${\beta}$ wave.

  • This study attempted to analyze human brain responses toward visual content through EEG signals and intended to measure brain wave reactions of different age groups to determine the sexuality level of the media. The experimental stimuli consist of three different video footage (rated ages 12, 15, and 18) to analyze how subjects react in situations where they actually watch sexual content. For measuring and analyzing brain wave reactions, EEG equipment records alpha, beta, and gamma wave responses of the subjects' left and right frontal lobes, temporal lobes, and occipital lobes. The subjects of this study were 28 total and they are divided into two groups. The experiment configures a sexual content classification scale with age or gender as a discriminating variable and brain region-specific response frequencies (left/right, frontal/temporal/occipital, alpha/beta/gamma waves) as independent variables. The experimental results showed the possibility of distinguishing gender and age differences. The apparent differences in brain wave response areas and bands among high school girls, high school boys, and college students are found. Using these brain wave response data, this study explored the potential of developing algorithm for measurement of age-specific responses to sexual content and apply it as a film rating.

  • The effect of soundscape has been analyzed by questionnaire results. Nowadays, EEG is used to identify the human reponses due to exterior stimuli such as soundscape sound sources. So, it is very meaningful to know the EEG response to soundscape sound sources. In the present study, the sound sources of soundscape were heard to subjects in order to find out the relationship between questionnaire results and electroencephalogram results through lab test. And stimulated part of brain for evaluating words were sought in this experiment too. The results of the study are as follows : the sound source of bird+music causes more ${\alpha}$-wave rise than other sound sources and the ${\alpha}$-wave stimulated region of brain is occipitallobe. In case of ${\beta}$-wave, the left part of brain is excited. ${\delta}$-wave is on frontallobe and ${\Theta}$-wave is on right part of brain. The evaluating words for soundscape can be categorized into four groups. These results could be used for basic materials of soundscape effects analysis.

  • Background: This study aimed to investigate the effect of hold-relax and antagonist contraction (HR-AC) technique and Kinesio taping on pain changes in delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS) of 20's adults. Methods: Based on voluntary participation, 14 participants with induced-DOMS were randomly divided into control (non-treatment, n=7) and experiment group (HR-AC technique and kinesio taping, n=7). Measurement were used visual analogue scale (VAS), heart rate variability (HRV), and brain wave (alpha). There were 5 sets of the HR-AC technique application on the 5th day from the day of DOMS induction (rest for 30s between sets). Kinesio taping was applied to the same area after HR-AC. Results: The VAS showed significant changes according to the period and in the interaction between the period and the group (p<.01). HRV and alpha wave (Fp1) showed significant changes according to the period (p<.001). The analgesic effect was more rapid and continuous in the experimental group than in the control group. Conclusion: This study showed that the HR-AC technique and Kinesio taping are effective interventions for the management of pain and stress caused by DOMS.

  • This study investigated the psychological and physiological responses to the sound of car horns produced by different. manufacturers. Ten female college students listened to the sound of the horns while their EEG responses on 6 sites were being measured, and rated each hem on psychological scales. Their EEG and psychological responses were investigated as to whether the responses were related to the loudness, sharpness, tonality, and roughness of the horns. The results indicated that the subjects felt more 'dominated' as the loudness and sharpness increased, that the subjects felt more 'pleasant' as the sharpness increased, that the subjects felt more 'dominant' as the tonality increased, and that the subjects felt more 'aroused' as the roughness increased. The physiological results showed that the fast alpha wave in the occipital lobe decreased in the relative power as the loudness, sharpness, and tonality increased, and that the delta wave in the occipital lobe increased and the slow alpha wave in the frontal lobe decreased in the relative power as the roughness increased.

  • This paper suggested a new evaluation method for optimal HUD position through a correlation based on between biological signal as and statistical analysis which using (Electroencephalogram, EEG) and ANOVA. This experiment was conducted two kinds of method to evaluate the optimal HUD position. At first, visual stimulus suggested from six different positions(the top and the bottom of the left, the top and the bottom of the center and the top and the bottom of the right on the screen) in laboratory and an object image was shown for 30 seconds in a screen which has $235{\times}197cm2$ size. And second, HUD image was configured from three different positions and an object image was shown for 30 seconds in a screen. EEG, which used ${\alpha}$-wave and ${\beta}$-wave for evaluate an emotional stability, were measured from Fp1, Fp2, F7 and F8 channel based on ten to twenty electrode system. From the result in laboratory, F7 ${\beta}$-wave was shown statistically significant to significance probability of 0.006 and between ${\alpha}$-wave and ${\beta}$-wave were showed a negative correlation(r=-0.190). Also, Both the top of left and the bottom of center were showed lower ${\beta}$-wave than the bottom of right. From the result in railway simulator, Fp1 ${\beta}$-wave was appeared statistically significant as significance probability of 0.033 and it was showed lower ${\beta}$-wave than center. The outcome of this study will be helpful about evaluation of optimal HUD position through correlation between alpha wave and beta wave.
