Shrinkage during the curing and drying of concrete is unavoidable and results in many cracks. Shrinkage strips reduce effectively shrinkage stresses and minimize shrinkage cracks by being left open for a certain time during construction allow a significant part of the shrinkage to occur without inducing stresses. This study verifies the effectiveness of shrinkage strips and provides the guide for construction of such strips.

In this study, the electric accelerated reinforcing bar corrosion test was carried out to estimate the coefficient of electrolytic corrosion based on the concept of Faraday's law according to rebar corrosion rate and concrete compressive strength which had an effect on the actual corrosion mass loss. The results of this paper allow the prediction of corrosion amount in the electric accelerated reinforcing bar corrosion test method.

Policy introducing open access to the wireless network has been under discussion in the Korean mobile telecommunications industry. The policy, which directs mobile operators to allow mobile portals other than their own ones to access their network and subscribers, is expected to vitalize mobile Internet market through competition among portals. This study analyzes the impact of the policy in terms of welfare of mobile Internet users and profit of mobile contents providers. The United States Antarctic program (USAP) through its principal Support Contractor Raytheon polar Services Co. (RPSC), has recently finished a 3 years projects, almost 936m length of underground utility tunnels at Amundsen-Scott station. It accommodates the piping that conveys fresh water from current well sites, as well as waste water to repositories in abandoned wells. The under snow tunnels allow year-round access for system operations and maintenance.

The purpose of this study is to understand spatial composition techniques and character on the tendency of Deconstructivisim in interior design. Interior space is basically surrounded by architectural surface and influenced by architectural shape. Therefore, the main point of this study is based on the inter relationship of interior design and the trend of contemporary architectural design. This viewpoint is to comment upon current events in Korean situation some degree, but allow the new feeling to interior design and can be enlarge the concepts of spatial composition.

Intramural leiomyoma is the most common benign esophageal tumor, but it is rare compared with carcinoma. Although the most common symptom is dysphagia, this tumor may not cause symptoms before attaining large size. Radiographic and endoscopic findings allow an accurate diagnosis to be made before operation in most patients. The treatment of choice is enucleation without mucosal encroachment. Recently, we experienced two cases of esophageal leiomyoma on the mid portion of esophagus and enucleation of tumors were done by blunt dissection with caution. In one case, postoperative chylothorax was complicated, but cured with conservative treatment. The tissue diagnosis was confirmed with pathological finding.

This paper presents a fuzzy set theory based formulation and heuristic which will allow plant layout problems to be solved for more than two input goals with different weights. The heuristic combines a construction and improvement procedure to generate a good layout from the formulation. To test the effectiveness of the heuristic, a set of examples previously used by various authors is solved and the results are compared to those from other known heuristics. The comparison indicates that the proposed method performs well for each of seventeen classical test problems.

The usability of the Internet including WWW (World Wide Web) is dramatically growing in current management environment. These allow decision makers to enhance the productivity of decision making by referring valuable information in the remote sites. This paper presents how WWW can be applied to build distributed and collaborative DSS. Especially, a framework of Internet-based DSS is delineated, and then an idea of representing and managing models in the Internet-based DSS is suggested.

Involvement of a multidisciplinary team in cancer care may have added benefits over the existing system of patient management. A paradigm shift in the current patient management would allow more focus on nutritional support, in addition to clinical care. Malnutrition, a common problem in cancer patients, needs special attention from the early days of cancer care to improve quality of life and treatment outcomes. Patient management teams with trained oncology dietitians may provide quality personalized nutritional care to cancer patients.
