Effects of Allii Tuberosi Semen, Ginseng Radix Alba and Morindae Officinalis Radix Extract on Reproductive Capacities in Mice (비자(菲子), 인삼(人蔘) 및 파극(巴戟)의 수컷 생쥐 생식능력에 대한 비교연구)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate effects of Allii tuberosi Semen, Ginseng Radix Alba and Morindae officinalis Radix extract on reproductive capacities in mice. Methods: The 8-week-old ICR rats are used in the study, and we administered the extract solution of Allii tuberosi Semen, Ginseng Radix Alba and Morindae officinalis Radix concentration of 1, 10, 100mg/0.3ml to each rats and water to another rats(control group) once a day for each 30, 60, 90 and 120 days. we evaluated the total sperm count and morphology. Results: For 30 days, the total sperm count and normal sperm most increased in the group administered by 100mg/0.3ml Allii tuberosi Semen. For 60 days, the total sperm count and normal sperm most increased in the group administered by 100mg/0.3ml Morindae officinalis Radix solutions. For 90 days, the total sperm count most increased in the group asministered by 10mg/0.3ml Morindae officinalis Radix and 100mg/0.3ml Allii tuberosi Semen solutions. For 120 days, the total sperm count and normal sperm most increased in the group administered by l0mg/0.3ml Ginseng Radix Alba. Conclusion: This study shows that there were dose and duration effects of Allii tuberosi Semen, Ginseng Radix Alba and Morindae officinalis Radix extract solution on the total sperm count and morphology.

Short term effect of Allii tuberosi semen on muscular fatigue and muscular strength (단기간(短期間)의 구자 투여(投與)가 생쥐의 근피로(筋疲勞)와 근력(筋力)에 미치는 영향(影響))

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the muscle anti-fatigue effects of Allii tuberosi semen after short term administration. Methods: 4-6 weeks old ICR mice were used in this study and we administered the water soluble extracts of Allii tuberosi semen in the concentration of 1, 10 and 100mg/0.3ml to each 5 mice (ATS group) and same volume of normal saline was administered to 5 mice (control group) once a day for 30 or 60 days. After the administration we performed the swimming exercise test and the grip strength test. And we measured the concentration of glucose and the activity of lactate dehydrogenase in plasma regarded as biochemical indicator related with the muscular fatigue.. Results: In swimming exercise test. 10 and 100mg/0.3ml ATS groups showed increased time compared with relative control group after 30 days administration. But after 60 days adminstration all ATS groups showed increased results. In grip strength test, 100mg/0.3ml ATS group increased grip strength after 30days administration and 10mg/0.3ml ATS group showed increased result after 60days administration. All the results of plasma glucose and lactate dehydrogenase didn't showed statistically significant difference after 30 and 60 days administration. Conclusion: From this study we could find the anti-fatigue effect of Allii tuberosi semen in the muscle strength related test.

Conclusion: From this study we could find the anti-fatigue effect of Allii tuberosi semen in the muscle strength related test.

Effects of Allii tuberosi Semen Extract Solution on Reproductive Capacities in Mice (농도별(濃度別) 구자(?子) 투약(投藥)이 수컷 생쥐의 생식능력(生殖能力)에 미치는 영향(影響))

  • Purpose : These studies were undertaken to evaluate the effects of Allii tuberosi Semen (ATS) on the spermatogenic abilities such as concentration, motility and morphological normality of sperm from the testis and the activities of sperm hyaluronidase, testicular peroxidase and testicular catalase. Materials and Methods : We used the 8-week-old mice and administered the 0.2 ml extract solution of ATS in the different concentration (0.1 mg/ml, 1 mg/ml, 10 mg/ml and 100 mg/ml) once a day for 60 days. The control group was administered the distilled water in the same way. After the administration of each extract solution, we examined the number of total, motile and normal sperm, the activities of sperm hyaluronidase, testicular peroxidase and testicular catalase. Also we observed the histological changes of isolated testis. And we compared to the testicular tissue especially seminiferous tubules between control and treated group by histochemical methods. Results : The concentration of total sperm, the motility and normality of spermatozoa were significantly increased in ATS groups, especially in 1 and 10 mg/ml groups, compared to control group. In the histological analysis of the testicular tissues, the enlargement of testicular lobe diameter and apparent vasculogenesis between testicular lobes were observed in the ATS groups compared to the control group, respectively. Also, the activity of hyaluronidase was significantly increased in the ATS groups compared to the control group. In the antioxidant activity analysis, the activity of testicular peroxidase was significantly increased in the ATS groups compared to the control group, especially in 1 mg/ ml group. The activity of testicular catalase was increased in ATS groups. Conclusion : This study shows that ATS has the beneficial effect on the concentration, morphology and motility of sperm, the activities of sperm hyaluronidase and testicular peroxidase. We can suggest that ATS extract solution be useful for the treatment of male sexual dysfunctions and infertility.

  • This study was progressed for oriental medical care of neonates by fetal toxicosis removal therapy, and the results as follows: 1. The purpose of fetal toxicosis removal therapy : It removes dirty blood in neonatal mouth and prevents diseases. 2. Kinds of fetal toxicosis removal therapy : Radix Glycyrrhizae(甘草), Rhizoma Coptidis(黃連), Cinnabaris-Mel(朱蜜), Calculus Bovis(牛黃), Sojae Semen Praepartum, Juice of Semen Allii Tuberosi(非汁) and mercury(汞粉). 3. A period of fetal toxicosis removal therapy : At birth, 3rd day or so, one week or so, after umbilical omission. 4. Methods of fetal toxicosis removal therapy: Purgative therapy(下法) and Emetic therapy(吐法).

  • 목 적 : 본 연구는 기간별 구자 투약이 생쥐의 생식능력에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 방 법 : 이를 위해 30일, 60일, 90일 및 120일간의 구자 투약이 생쥐의 총 정자수, 활동 정자수, 정상형태 정자수, 고환조직 및 hyaluronidase activity를 측정하여, 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 결 과: 1. 총 정자수는 60일과 90일 투여 후 대조군에 비하여 증가하였다. 2. 활동 정자수는 60일, 90일 및 120일 투여 후 대조군에 비하여 증가하였다. 3. 정상 형태 정자수는 60일, 90일 및 120일 투여 후 대조군에 비하여 증가하였다. 4. 고환 세정관의 조직학적 변화는 60일 투여 후에 가장 현저히 나타났다. 5. Hyaluronidase activity는 모든 투여군에서 대조군에 비하여 증가하였다. 결 론: 이상의 결과를 통해 60일 이상의 구자 투약이 남성 생식능력을 활성화 할 수 있다고 사료된다.
