Spectrum analyzer and electromagnetic field meter were used to investigate the EM generation behaviour in different types of home electrical appliances. During microwave oven operation, the EM power measured at a point 30cm apart was measured in the range of 8~11mW/㎡, the strength of the low frequency magnetic field was 60~80mG and the electric field strength was measured at 150~160V/m. For smart phone wireless charging pad, it was measured at an electromagnetic power of 0.4mW/㎡, an electric field of 160 V/m and a magnetic field of 1mG at a point 10cm away. For microwave oven and wireless charging pad, if used within 10cm, the size of the electric field has been measured at a large value that exceeds the human body protection standard and may be hazardous to humans. On the other hand, home appliances such as TVs, hairdryers and refrigerators all showed very low levels of electromagnetic waves, electric fields and magnetic fields, with no harmful effects seen. For electromagnetic shielding, the metal Cu fabric and metal foil had a high level of EM shielding, while polymer films had a low EM shielding characteristic.
Redox flow secondary battery have been studied actively as one of the most promising electrochemical energy storage devices for a wide range of applications, such as electric vehicles, photovoltaic arrays, and excess power generated by electric power plants. In all-vanadium redox flow battery using solution of vanadium-sulfuric acid as a active material, the difficulty in developing an efficient ion selective membrane can still be identified. The asymmetric cation exchange membrane(M-30) as a separator of all-vanadium redox flow battery which were obtained by the reaction of chlorosulfonation for 30 minutes under the irradiation of UV, showed its superiority in the transport number of 0.94 and electrical resistivity of $0.5{\Omega}{\cdot}cm^2$. The base membrane were prepared by lamination a low density polyethlene film of $10{\mu}m$ thickness on polyolefin membrane(HIPORE 120). The electrical resistivity of M-30 membrane in real solution of vanadium-sulfuric acid was $3.79{\Omega}{\cdot}cm^2$ and it was similar to that of Nafion 117 membrane. Also the cell resistivity was $6.6{\Omega}{\cdot}cm^2$and lower than that of Nafion 117. In considertion of electrochemical properties and costs of membranes, M-30 membrane was better than that of Nafion 117 and CMV of Asahi glass Co. as a separator of all-vanadium redox flow battery.
The ZnO is stabilize dielectric constant over a broad temperature range because its addition makes the relaxation time short. In this study, the composite oxide material (B $a_{0.85}$$Ca_{0.15}$)Ti $O_{3}$ was mixed by ZnO additive material and the dielectric polarization characteristics was studied. The relative density was over 90[%] at all specimen in the structural characteristics. Among of the specimen, the relative density of (B $a_{0.85}$$Ca_{0.15}$)Ti $O_{3}$ with ZnO (0.4mol) has a 95[%]. The grain size of composite oxide material with an increasing ZnO increased and it was 1.0[.mu.m]-1.22[.mu.m]. In the electrical characteristics, the charge and discharge current was increased by ZnO addition. The dielectric relaxation time was increased by space charge polarization at above 110[.deg. C] and the dielectric relaxation time was fixed by space charge polarization of para-dielectric layer at below 110[.deg. C]. The dielectric relaxation time was maximum when the grain size was small. The dielectric relaxation time is decreased with an additive material ZnO and interface polarization, existing void at the grain and grain boundary. The remnant polarization is increased and the coercive electric field is decreased by ZnO.
In the international temperature scale of 1990 (ITS-90), standard platinum resistance thermometer (SPRT) is a defining standard thermometer used in the temperature range from 13.8033 K to $961^{\circ}C$. Uncertainty of SPRT is about several mK and uncertainty of defining fixed points of the ITS-90 which is used for calibrating SPRT is about several tenth of mK. Above $0^{\circ}C$. the defining fixed points are gallium melting point and indium, tin, zinc, aluminium and silver freezing points which are all realized using an electric furnace or a liquid bath. To realize freezing point of tin ($231.928^{\circ}C$) and zinc ($419.527^{\cir}C$), two 3-zone furnaces which have 3 electric heaters were manufactured. Temperature gradient of the constructed furnaces were tested. Uncertainty caused by temperature gradient of furnace and immersion effect of SPRT in the sealed-type freezing point cells were evaluated 0.038 mK for tin freezing point and 0.036 mK for zinc freezing point.
We report the crystallographic and magnetic properties of $Ni_{0.3}Fe_{0.7}Ga_2S_4$ by means of X-ray diffractometer (XRD), a superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) magnetometer, and a M$\ddot{o}$ssbauer spectroscopy. In particular, $Ni_{0.3}Fe_{0.7}Ga_2S_4$ was studied by M$\ddot{o}$ssbauer analysis for evidence of spin reorientation. The chalcogenide material $Ni_{0.3}Fe_{0.7}Ga_2S_4$ was fabricated by a direct reaction method. XRD analysis confirmed that $Ni_{0.3}Fe_{0.7}Ga_2S_4$ has a 2-dimension (2-D) triangular lattice structure, with space group P-3m1. The M$\ddot{o}$ssbauer spectra of $Ni_{0.3}Fe_{0.7}Ga_2S_4$ at spectra at various temperatures from 4.2 to 300 K showed that the spectrum at 4.2 K has a severely distorted 8-line shape, as spin liquid. Electric quadrupole splitting, $E_Q$ has anomalous two-points of temperature dependence of $E_Q$ curve as freezing temperature, $T_f=11K$, and N$\acute{e}$el temperature, $T_N=26K$. This suggests that there appears to be a slowly-fluctuating "spin gel" state between $T_f$ and $T_N$, caused by non-paramagnetic spin state below $T_N$. This comes from charge re-distribution due to spin-orientation above $T_f$, and $T_N$, due to the changing $E_Q$ at various temperatures. Isomer shift value ($0.7mm/s{\leq}{\delta}{\leq}0.9mm/s$) shows that the charge states are ferrous ($Fe^{2+}$), for all temperature range. The Debye temperature for the octahedral site was found to be ${\Theta}_D=260K$.
Ohmic heating uses electric resistance heat which occurs equally and rapidly inside food when the electrical current is transmitted into. Prior to the study, we have researched the potato starch's thermal property changes during ohmic heating. Comparing with conventional heating, the gelatinization temperature and the range of potato starch treated by ohmic heating are increased and narrowed respectively. Herein, we have studied thermal property changes of wheat, corn, potato and sweet potato starch by ohmic heating as well as conventional heating. And then we measure the water holding capacity of starches. Annealing of starch is a heat treatment method heated at 3~4% below the gelatinization point. This treatment changes the starch's thermal property. In the DSC analysis of this study, the $T_o$, $T_p$, $T_c$ of all starch levels have increased, and the $T_c$-$T_o$ narrowed. In the ohmic heating, the treatment sample is extensively changed but not with the conventional heating. From the ohmic treatment, increases from gelatinization temperature are potato ($8.3^{\circ}C$) > wheat ($5.3^{\circ}C$) > corn ($4.9^{\circ}C$) > sweet potato ($4.5^{\circ}C$), and gelatinization ranges are potato ($7.9^{\circ}C$), wheat ($7.5^{\circ}C$), corn ($6.1^{\circ}C$) and sweet potato ($6.8^{\circ}C$). In the case of conventional treatment, water holding capacity is not changed with increasing temperature but the ohmic heating is increased. Water holding capacity is related to the degree of gelatinization for starch. This result show that when treated with below gelatinization temperature, the starches are partly gelatined by ohmic treatment. When viewing the results of the above, ohmic treatment is enhanced by heating and generating electric currents to the starch structure.

This paper proposes a high step-up converter with zero-voltage transition (ZVT) cell for fuel cell electric vehicle. The proposed converter applies a ZVT cell to a dual floating output boost converter (DFOBC) so that not only the main switch but also the ZVT switch can achieve full-range soft switching. The current rating of the ZVT switch is 17% of the main switch. The proposed converter has high reliability in that no timing issue occurs. Therefore, online calculation is not required. The minimum turn-on time of the ZVT switch that guarantees soft switching at all loads and input/output voltage is obtained by analysis. In addition, the proposed DFOBC allows the use of a 650 V device even at 800 V output and has the advantage of being able to boost the voltage by 3.5 times with 0.56 duty. Planar coupled inductor with PCB winding was successfully implemented with the converter operated at 300 kHz. The 25 kW prototype achieves peak efficiency of 99% and power density of 63 kW/L.

The effects of spot heating for growing the strawberry cultivated in a plastic greenhouse during the winter that were estimated in Nonsan strawberry experiment station located in Chungnam. The temperature of water for heating was controlled by a electric hot water boiler and kept at the range of $22{\sim}24^{\circ}C$. Heating pipes were set up in root zone for root zone heating and very close to crown for crown heating. Spot heating effects were estimated by applying spot heating system in three test factors of heating root zone, crown only and crown plus root zone. The material for crown heating pipe was white low density polyethylene and the nominal diameter of that pipe was 16 mm. The material for root zone heating pipe was flexible stainless steel and the nominal diameter of that pipe was 15A. The flow rate of heating water circulation was 480 L/h and water circulation lasted for all day long. Temperatures, harvest yield by test beds were surveyed from Nov. 10, 2013 to Apr. 29, 2014. The temperature of crown spot for crown heating bed was at the range of $13.0{\sim}17.0^{\circ}C$ during the night and that of crown spot in control bed was at the range of $8.0{\sim}14.0^{\circ}C$. Also, the temperature of root zone for root zone heating bed was at the range of $18{\sim}21.0^{\circ}C$ and that of root zone in control bed was at the range of $13.0{\sim}15.0^{\circ}C$. The cumulative yield growth rate in earlier harvest period (from Dec. 20 to Mar. 15) of crown heating bed was 43% compared with that of control bed and the cumulative yield of crown plus root zone heating bed was 39 % and that of root zone heating bed was 39 %.
Current sensors that use a Hall element and Hall IC to measure the magnetic fields generated in steel silicon core gaps do not distinguish between direct and alternating currents. Thus, they are primarily used to measure direct current (DC) in industrial equipment. Although such sensors can measure the DC when installed in expensive equipment, ascertaining problems becomes difficult if the equipment is set up in an unexposed space. The control box is only opened during scheduled maintenance or when anomalies occur. Therefore, in this paper, a method is proposed for facilitating the safety management and maintenance of equipment when necessary, instead of waiting for anomalies or scheduled maintenance. A Bluetooth 4.0 low-energy current-sensor system based on near-field communication is used, which compensates for the nonlinearity of the current-sensor output signal using a piecewise linear model. The sensor is controlled using its generic attribute profile. Sensor nodes and cell phones used to check the signals obtained from the sensor at 50-A input currents showed an accuracy of ±1%, exhibiting linearity in all communications within the range of 0 to 50 A, with a stable output voltage for each communication segment.

The electron transfer reaction is one of the most essential processes of life. Not only does it provide the means of transforming solar and chemical energy into a utilizable form for all living organisms, it also extends into a range of metabolic processes that support the life of a cell. Thus, it is of great interest to understand the physical basis of the rates and reduction potentials of these reactions. To identify the major determinants of reduction potentials in redox proteins, we have chosen the simplest electron transfer protein, rubredoxin, a small (52-54 residue) iron-sulfur protein family, widely distributed in bacteria and archaea. Rubredoxins can be grouped into two classes based on the correlation of their reduction potentials with the identity of residue 44; those with Ala44 (ex: Pyrococcus furiosus) have reduction potentials that are ∼50 mV higher than those with Va144 (ex: Clostridium pasteurianum). Based on the crystal structures of rubredoxins from C. pasteurianum and P. furiosus, we propose the identity of residue 44 alone determines the reduction potential by the orientation of the electric dipole moment of the peptide bond between 43 and 44. Based on 1.5 $\AA$ resolution crystal structures and molecular dynamics simulations of oxidized and reduced rubredoxins from C. pasteurianum, the structural rearrangements upon reduction suggest specific mechanisms by which electron transfer reactions of rubredoxin should be facilitated.
