It was confirmed that a white porcelain figurine in underglaze iron was damaged after exhibition. This study analyzes the current state of salt damage on the artifact and identifies the factors contributing to its deterioration by examining the material characteristics of the artifact and exhibition environment. The analysis will thus assist in preparing a conservation scheme for artifacts. The crystallized carbonate on the surface of the white porcelain figurine is a water-soluble alkali salt with high hygroscopicity and high solubility in water. This solubility increases as the temperature increases. The figurine was low-fired at approximately 1000℃. A lead glaze was applied, and thin cracks were formed on the glazed surface, indicating poor surface properties. Our analysis suggested that the showcase used in the exhibition likely created a moist environment resulting from condensation, as it was exposed to high temperature and relative humidity, particularly in comparison to the exhibition room where the temperature was regulated using an air conditioner. In addition, the artifacts in the showcase were exposed to sudden changes in temperature and relative humidity as the air conditioner was repeatedly turned on and off. Therefore, it can be deduced that the soluble salt remaining on the white porcelain figurine moved toward the surface of the relatively weak glaze as a result of the temperature, and the crystallized salt exacerbated surface damage as the moisture evaporated in a dry environment.
An one percent sodium carbonate extract prepared from sclerotia of Poria cocos activated the proliferation of the T lymphocytes as measured by mixed lymphocyte responses(MLR). The active fraction, PCSC22, was isolated from an one percent sodium carbonate extract by a combination of fractionation procedures, including ethanol precipitation and chromatographies on column of DEAE-cellulose and Sephadex G50. Carbohydrate and peptide contained in PCSC22 were 78 : 22% in ratio. On employing gel filtration high performance liquid chromatography, PCSC22 exhitited a homogeneous peak with an average molecular weight of 8 kDa. The sugar moiety of PCSC22 was composed with mannose (92%), galactose (6.2%) and arabinose (1.3%), which might be indicated as heteromannan. Fifteen amino acids were found in peptide moiety of the polysaccharide and aspartic acid, serine, and valine were major components. PCSC22 activated the primary proliferation of T lymphocytes measured by mixed lymphocyte responses, the antibody production of the B lymphocytes and the secretion of nitric oxide from macrophage cell line, RAW264.7.
Catalytic gasification of a low rank coal- Inner Mongolian lignite has been carried out with carbon dioxide. The gasification reactions were performed in a thermogravimetric analyzer at temperatures of $600^{\circ}C$ to $900^{\circ}C$. The kinetic parameters were evaluated using three different gas-solids reaction models and the prediction ability of each model were compared. Among the models evaluated, the modified volumetric model was found to correlate best both the non-catalytic and catalytic gasification reactions. The theoretical models, homogeneous and shrinking-core models, were found to satisfactorily correlate gasification reactions for the non-catalytic and $FeSO_4$-catalyzed reactions. In case of alkali metal catalysts, the catalytic activity was mostly pronounced at a low temperature of $600^{\circ}C$ and observed to decrease by 50% as the temperature was increased to $700^{\circ}C$, and it remained nearly constant at temperature over $800^{\circ}C$. The order of catalytic activity was found to be: $K_2CO_3$ > $Na_2CO_3$ > $K_2SO_4$ > $FeSO_4$.
Yeongweol sericite deposit of Gangwon Province is regarded as one of the sericite deposits derived from granitic rocks due to post-magmatic alkali metasomatism, and the other sericite deposit of the same origin is the Daehyun mine of Gyungbug Province. Sericite ores were originated from leucocratic granitic stocks of Cambrian-Triassic age which intruded the pegmatitic migmatite of the unknown age and granite of the Pre-cambrian age, respectivcly. Jangsan quartzite of the lowermost formations of the Paleozoic era, which played as the capping rock protected from the leakage of the hydrothermal solution. It is well known that those sericite deposits arc formed during formation of the geosyncline, and they are also situated in the margins of the Hambaeg Syncline. Leucocratic granites commonly contain pegmatites with tourmaline crystals, and are rich in potassium feldspars, and sodium plagioclase as well. Sericitized ores are mainly found as we go up to the higher elevations or to the margins of the stocks. And some of the Highest grade sericite ores show the monominerallic character composed of nearly pure sericite probably doc to the ultra greisenization. Chemical analysis shows higher $Na_{2}O$ and $K_{2}O$ contents $(2.00\sim7.03wt%)$ as the sericitizations arc preceded and they represent obvious greisenization. But low CaO contents $(0.05\sim4.51wt%)$ indicate that albitizations are so weak. Pyrophyllite of the Youngweol area is often accompanied by the sericite, indicating rather stronger thermal effect than the Daehyun mine. It is known that there are several Sn deposits originated from greisenization in the Taebaegsan region. And greisens are inclined to contain W, Mo and several REE's such as Be, Nb and Li, and so Taebaegsan region interbedded with lots of carbonate formations are still worthwhile to survey for those metallic deposits.
Chemical and isotopic analysis for stream water, shallow groundwater, intermediate groundwater and deep groundwater was carried out to grasp hydrogeochemical characteristics of groundwater in the Heunghae area, Pohang city. Water type of stream water and shallow groundwaters is typified as Ca-Cl type, intermediate groundwater is $Na-HCO_3$, and deep groundwater is prominent in Wa-Cl type. $HCO_3^-\;and\;SiO_2$ in shallow groundwater are originated from weathering of silicate minerals, whereas those of deep groundwaters are resulted from weathering of carbonate minerals. Ca and Mg ions in both shallow and deep groundwaters are resulted from weathering of calcite and dolomite. $SO_4^{2-}$ in shallow groundwater is originated mainly from pyrite oxidation. As well depth increases, pH and TDS increase, but Eh and DO decrease. Alkali metal contents(K, Na, Li) increases as well depth increases, but alkali earth metal(Mg, Ca) and hi concentrations increase as well depth decreases. Anions, halogen elements(F, Cl, Br), and $HCO_3$ contents increase as well depth increases. The average stable isotope value of the groundwater of each depth is as follows; deep groundwater: ${\delta}^{18}O=-10.1\%o,\;{\delta}D=-65.8\%_{\circ}$, intermediate groundwater: ${\delta}^{18}O=-8.9\%_{\circ},\;{\delta}D=-59.6\%_{\circ}$, shallow groungwater : ${\delta}^{18}O=-8.0\%_{\circ},\;{\delta}D=-53.6\%_{\circ}$, surface water : ${\delta}^{18}O=-7.9\%_{\circ},\;{\delta}D=-53.3\%_{\circ}$ respectively.

Recently, it has been reported that chemical hair coloring can cause allergic reactions, the toxicity issue of chemical hair color was issued. Therefore, there is an increasing interest in the hair coloration technique using non-toxic and bio-compatible hair color gotten from natural resource. In this study, the possibility using fermented Indigo as natural hair coloring agent was investigated. Bleached hair samples were dyed using Indigo, and the effect of dyeing frequency, the physical change after dyeing, color, surface and cross-section characteristics, and tensile property were also studied. In addition, the protection property of cationic detergent finishing on damaged hair samples were also studied. The following conclusions are made; 1. While bleached hair samples with low value showed the negligible effect of repeated dyeing, bleached hair samples with high value showed the good effect of repeated dyeing. 2. Hair sample dyed with Indigo showed a high light-fastness, however, tensile strength and elongation showed very low values (high damage on hair sample). 3. Cationic detergent finishing did not affect on the colorfastness because of decoloration after dyeing, however, it increased the smoothness of hair sample, and therefore, can use as protectant of damaged hair. 4. Hair scale was damaged after dyeing. It seemed that the alkali, potassium carbonate, increased pH of dyeing bath to 11, as a result, the hair was swollen, weaken, and dissolved on the prolonged dyeing time. Dyed hair sample became stiff and fine. 5. The color difference was 4.62 (a high fastness value) in the test of sunlight exposure, shampoo, cationic detergent finishing, and acid perspiration fastness.

The present study utilized a shuttle mechanism of wet chemical absorption using MEA. In addition, industrial by-products containing a large amount of inorganic alkali substances were utilized for wet carbonization process. Chemical pretreatment of industrial by-products extracted calcium ions. ICP result of calcium ion was obtained up to 17,900 ppm(17.9%) by acidic substance. And also, In this work, 94% of recovery rate was obtained using wet MEA absorption process from $CO_2$ flow at the ambient condition. Through the liquid carbonation process, a sludge was fixed with rate of 0.175 mg of $CO_2$ per mg of sludge. It was found from XRD results that the structure of final product was composed of a calcite structure which is general structure of $CaCO_3$.
The efficiency of Photocatalytic Oxidation Process were investigated for the treatment of Aquatic Humic Substances (AHS). In UV-only system, pH 7-9 was the optimum pH range for TOC removal, and alkali range was the optimum pH for absorbance decrease. In UV/$TiO_2$ system, the optimum $TiO_2$ dosage was 50ppm and over 50ppm of $TiO_2$ dosage was not effective for removal of AHS. In UV/$H_2O_2$ system, optimum $H_2O_2$ dosage was 20mM, when over 20mM dosage, removal of TOC (Total Organic Carbon) and absorbance was decreased. Radical scavenger affected on the photo-oxidation of AHS. Removal rate of TOC and absorbance was decreased by addition of carbonate ions and TOC removal was more effected than that of absorbance.

After observing various changed colors by some dyeing conditions in case of the Indio and Indigo Pulberata Levis, we had below result. 1. Best reduction temperature for Indigo was $50^{\circ}C$, and the reduction temperature had an effect on level dyeing and dye-uptake. For the Indigo Pulberata Levis, best reduction temperature was $60^{\circ}C$, and best reduction time for Indigo was 20 minutes, for the Indigo Pulberata Levis was 30~40 minutes. 2. Both Indigo and Indigo Pulberata Levis showed high K/S without using alkali, but it was almost not possible to be dyed without reduction agent. The best amount of potassium carbonate concentration and soldium hydrosulfite concentration was $2{\sim}3g/{\ell}$ and $2g/{\ell}$ each for dyeing. 3. The best dyeing temperature for Indigo was $30^{\circ}C$ and $60^{\circ}C$ for Indigo Pulberata Levis. 4. In case of Indigo, K/S increased slightly at $5g/{\ell}$ concentration. Thus, $5g/{\ell}$ is efficient amount. However, it needed $50g/{\ell}$ to increase K/S for Indigo Pulberata Levis. It tells that we need a lot of Indigo Pulberata Levis for dyeing dark color. 5. Indigo dyed cotton looked more greener than silk. Since silk absorbs lots of red color, it looked strong red color. However, Indigo Pulberata Levis looked greenish on both cotton and silk. 6. Since the hue's range of Munsell's value was PB for both Indigo and Indigo Puberata Levis, we are able to know that red color's indirubin is contained as well as blue color's indigo.

Solubility of a radionuclide is important for defining the release source term of a radioactive waste in the safety and performance assessments of a radioactive waste repository. When the pH and redox potential of the KURT groundwater were changed by an electrical method, the concentrations of uranium and thorium released from $UO_2$(cr) and $ThO_2$(cr) at alkali pH(8.1 ${\sim}$ 11.4) and reducing potential (Eh < -0.2 V) conditions were less than $10^{-7}mole/L$. Unexpectedly, the concentration of tetravalent thorium is slightly higher than that of uranium at pH = 8.1 and Eh= -0.2 V conditions, and this difference may be due to the formation of hydroxide-carbonate complex ions. When $UO_2$(s) and $UO_2$(am, hyd.), and $ThO_2$(s) and $Th(OH)_4(am)$ were assumed as solubility limiting solid phases, the concentrations of uranium and thorium in the KURT groundwater calculated by the PHREEQC code were comparable to the experimental results. The dominating aqueous species of uranium and thorium were presumed as $UO_2(CO_3)_3^{4-}$ and $Th(OH)_3CO_3^-$ at pH = 8.1 ${\sim}$ 9.8, and $UO_2(OH)_3^-$ and $Th(OH)_4(aq)$ at pH = 11.4.
